Beautiful views from the patio, very friendly service , and a good selection of salads and sandwiches on the lunch menu. It was great to have a gluten free bread option for sandwiches. I had the veggie with grilled chicken, which was recommended by the waitress. She was not wrong-- it was delicious. Food came out quickly and was so hot we had to wait a bit to be able to eat it. What a beautiful setting for lunch. High above the eastern shore of Seneca Lake provided a spectacular fall view of a good portion of the lake. Food was very good: salad, soups, sandwiches. It was hard to decide from a varied lunch menu. Service was great and so was the Wagner wine and beer. We returned with a group of 50 for their lunch buffet. Everything was perfect and small adjustments were made for vegetarians and dairy free participants. We had a dedicated cash bar so our group could enjoy drinks with the meal. Initially this place looked super cute & the food sounded great.. however after waiting almost an hour for 3 burgers and a wrap and watching multiple tables that arrived after us eat and leave, we decided to ask about the food. To which we were told it'd be right out.. The manager joined our server in bringing the food out and delivered us multiple excuses of why our food took so long including: there were big parties due to the eclipse, & also because we ordered burgers.. apparently it takes longer for them to be cooked on the grill. A simple sorry followed by decent service would've sufficed. The excuses were overboard and blatant BS. This would've all been okay if the food were at least good.. but nope, we get the food and the Tequila wrap that should have guac, tomatoes and salsa only came with lettuce and chicken & our burgers were overcooked and were obviously frozen patties. The server and manager both dropped the food without asking if we needed anything else. As we proceeded to try to enjoy our meal we were watched through the kitchen door by your "Chef" who apparently wasn't a fan of criticism. Not only is this super unprofessional but it's borderline creepy. While paying, the chef mocked us by laughing and acting like a belligerent fool while trying to send us off with chips. While this post should end here it didn't. The Chef went back into the kitchen and watched us walk to our vehicles through a window. & then came outside to continue arguing with our party of 4. This is by far the most disgusting and worst experience I've EVER had in my life. I served tables for 10 years and have NEVER seen a "Chef" or manager act this way. Neither one of these people are fit for the roles they hold, if I were the owner I would really sit back and consider who it is that I have running my restaurant. Did you review the footage where I kindly went up to your staff and asked about the 7.00$ extra charge on my bill and was met with your rude and incompetent manager?? Did I eventually raise my voice after I was sick of our party being treated like garbage? ABSOLUTELY I DID. But never was your staff threatened. In fact for the last 20 minutes of our meal your "Chef" gawked at our table through the kitchen door and made an uncomfortable situation, worse. I suppose you skipped over that part of the footage which was way before things got out of hand... and then your "chef" slammed the door that connects the kitchen to your patio when we were standing there waiting for an older woman to walk down the stairs.. I suppose you missed that part when you reviewed the footage as well. & as for your staff "taking out the garbage" at the end of everything, that is complete bull and if you truly reviewed the footage you would know that. We were driving off when I realized your so called "Chef" was recording us and I told him he was weird. They were not taking out the garbage. They were continuing to escalate the situation. If you truly believe your staff did their best that day then I feel really sorry for you & your establishment, Your staff did nothing but escalate that situation in every way possible.. & if you reviewed the footage you would have seen that. In no world does it take 45 minutes to cook 3 frozen burgers. There was no wait to sit.. 20 minute wait for our drinks and for the server to take an order and another 50 minutes for sub-par burgers. It is a café next to Wagner Vineyard and on the same property. It looks inviting from the outside as its outdoor seating has very good view of the lake. We walked in. We were given the option of either indoor or outdoor dining. We went for outdoor seating. As we were passing the banquet hall/ restaurant dining area, I have noticed how huge it seems . Upon seeing event chairs properly arranged in the vineyard area, then I realized that they hold special events in this place. Our server was nice and very friendly She mentioned their specials for the day. I had the chef's salad and turned out that the added meat was free of charge as being part of their special for the day. My husband had a chipotle steak sandwich and included some chips on the side. The sandwich, as my husband let me tried it, was pretty standard in taste. What I love with this place , listed in their menu are placed where they get their veggies, breads etc. from. First trip to Wagner's today, found Ginny Lee Cafe on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Walking up to the sun-filled deck with a sweeping vista of Seneca Lake filled me with hope as we walked through the wisteria lined path to the front door. Preferring air conditioning, we picked a lovely table inside with its own great views and enjoyed our lunch. Expect warm and cold sandwiches, french onion and soup de jour, boring french fries (french onion is recommended with lots of gooey cheese) and a salad or two. Would love to see a few more options and the service was a bit spotty. read more

There was not much to think about. We needed food and we always could use more wine or beer. Atmosphere - Their name says café but screams banquet hall to me. Especially while an event is going on and their buffet was in the area we sat. They had plant dividers to separate us from the party going on near the bar. Food Drink - I had one of the beers from Wagner Valley which is the brewery on the property. Lunch - Chipotle Steak Sandwich. I was so good I did not realize the chipotle was missing. It was in a small cup I was using to dip my potato chips in. The peppers were grilled to excellent caramelization. Service - There were eight of us in the empty restaurant that was empty. I was 2:45 in the afternoon. She did not check in us until over half way done with our meals. Future - I could see that if we were in the area again. read more

Based on previous reviews we weren't expecting anything gourmet. The onion soup was tasty and my son liked his burger, but everything else was just fine. Like many others we were really just going for the view. Unfortunately the day turned out to be cooler than we expected and it was too chilly to sit outside. From the inside you can still see the beautiful scenery, but it wasn't quite the same experience. The missing 2 stars are because of the service. Our server was very nice, but we waited more than 15 minutes for her to come over the first time, and then much too long to get the food. They were clearly understaffed and the waitstaff was visibly frazzled. And the whole time we were waiting (and observing other tables also waiting and trying to flag down servers) they continued to seat more people, which made no sense to us. We allowed ourselves a relaxing hour and a half for lunch before our winery tour reservation at Lamoreaux Landing (next door to Wagner), and we had to snarf everything down in 10 minutes to make it in time. read more

Had lunch here and thought it was okay. Service was decent at first but the place got crowded fast and then the waitstaff seemed to become overwhelmed and could have used some help as things began to slow accordingly. Despite being connected to Wagner's Vineyard, you aren't able to order wine flights at this restaurant so my wife was restricted from doing so and ended up just ordering a single taste of their Riesling. Unfortunately for her, I ended up tipping her glass and she lost it halfway through and there was no offer to provide her with a replacement after offering an apology and flagging the staff down to help clean it up. I had a house beer selection and thought it was good. The ordered a variety of food and overall would rate it as okay, selections included the calamari, loaded skins, crispy chicken sandwich, chicken fingers, specialty salad of the day, pizza of the day - sausage with fresh peppers, cheese plate, and some burgers. The view from the restaurant atop the hill and overseeing the lake is fantastic. If going with a larger party, it is definitely recommended to get there earlier as we did around 11-11:30, shortly after they opened, as it got crowded fast on a Wednesday in August. My wife picked up a few bottles of wine afterwards next door at Wagner's so she was content and says they were good after sampling them later. read more

You obviously go to this restaurant for the view, which is great. The food and menu is generic. It's hard because there aren't too many restaurants to pick from in the area. My husband got the chicken sandwich on pretzel bun, which he said was good but ended up being a tiny piece of chicken and all pretzel bun. Their Wagner's root beer was ok. Overall, not a bad place to eat and enjoy a pretty view. read more
