Atlas Realty checks the boxes big time in the three areas that make apartment life work: 1) Fast, responsive, and on-the-spot upkeep of any problems that come up with the property. No dreading calling the landlord to wonder how it will go down. Atlas Realty is like. no problem, we got it. See you soon. And then, done. 2) Super friendly staff all around. Who doesn't want to deal with folks who are nice and enjoy the work they do? Package delivery? No problem. Need something on short notice? No problem. Whatever it is? I applied to an apartment through atlas management and used the guarantor app as it said I was approved for an apartment . I awaited a call from someone from atlas to sign a lease but instead received a call saying the apartment was accounted for . since then it's been about 2+ months for atlas management to send the lease to the guarantor to prove I havnt signed the lease to receive my money back (635$) . when I speak with atlas they encourage me to use it for there other locations when I want my money back now I can't get ahold of anyone as they are terrible with answering the phones at management . I believe they post false rental properties to get people to spend money on the guarantor, and then take the property off market forcing you to still rent from one of the other locations . I believe they are taking advantage of individuals who are not able to wait on the money back. if this has happened to you please share your story as me and my lawyer are preparing a lawsuit against the management company . DO NOT RENT FROM ATLAS MANAGEMENT AND DO NOT FALL FOR THE GUARANTOR SCAM .! read more

I am currently a tenant with a family of 4. Including 2 children under the age of ten. They are unresponsive and unprofessional. Maintenance will take forever to get to any work order if they get to it at all. Leasing will give you the run a round even after you pay a non refundable application fee. Overall service is a 0 out of ten. Atlas is one of if not the worst management company I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with some really bad companies. If you can avoid dealing with this company please do so for your own sanity. I can't wait to move once my lease is up read more

Stay away from Judy and better stay away from this management company! About 3 years agoJudy took over our building association. For 3 years there were no meetings, she decided to cancel the lawn care without consulting with the owners.... Judy is never in the office and she never answers the phone when you need something! If you email Judy she will get back to you in 2-3 weeks and by that time it might be too late. Not too long ago my husband needed documentation from the management company in order to sell our apartment. She was nowhere to be found and when she finally answered the email she said she can not do it! Our lawyer insisted and then she did the documentation all wrong! Luckily the buyer did not care about Judy's mistakes and we were able to sell in time. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! read more

On Tu 26 Jan 10, my slumlord handed me a letter stating I have to vacate my apartment by 1 March 10. NO reason given! I called the office asking WHY am I being evicted. The response: "I don't know." I have been a tenant there for 7 years, always paid my rent, never causing any trouble or making noise. This is how I'm treated: slumlord doesn't fix things & now eveicting me for no good reason. I've been with Atlas Realty group for about 2 years now living in one of their studio apartments. Initially when I was in the market for an apartment I saw an ad on Craigslist and called the number, within a few days Marco had called me back and we set up a viewing. When I checked out the apartments it was spotless and in good condition with working appliances, not to mention hardwood floors. I put in an application that same day and even though I have less than stellar credit I was approved within a week. When I went to sign the lease it was a really easy and painless experience. I was able to get my keys that same day two weeks before my lease even began. Plus not having to pay a security deposit was nice. Whatever problems I've had in my unit have been fixed promptly and efficiently. I am lucky to have such good maintenance and on such short notice. Atlas Realty Group has always helped me out when I've had questions about my lease or if God forbid I was a few days late on a payment of my rent. All in all I would highly recommend them and I usually do to my friends when they're looking for a place. You can't beat the price of rent that they charge for their units. I've been living in the same studio since 2010. Marko, who is in charge of the building I live in has always been very good to me and my boyfriend. First of all, I'm pretty sure we have the cheapest rent in Lakeview. Due to the fact that our annual rent increase is almost next to nothing. Whenever I need something fix it gets done ASAP. Any problems the building has gets fixed right away. I'm super guilty of paying for rent late, and Marko has always been very nice to us about the situation, even though he would have to go out of his way just to pick up our rent. Although living in a studio with another person can get cramped at times, it is hard for us to leave. We live in a great neighborhood, building management is always on top of things, and rent is just too good. read more

Literally everyone that works by my building (4000 block of Kedvale) are super nice Marco, Carlos and that sweet Polish lady. Mara in the office is also great. Their maintenance guy, Marco is impressively on point. I gave him a list of 7 things that could use fixing (outlet and light stopped working, weather stripping, etc.) Super nice guy - doesn't try to weasel out of fixing things. Sometimes scheduling fixes is an issue because emergencies come up, but that's not his fault. The guy takes pride in his work, and he should. Best landlord I've had. read more

I was with Atlas for about 7 years. Rented 3 different places from them, the first being my first place. Went through some life changes, hence the moves, in which Atlas was always helpful and informative. Can't recall ever having any major problems, and when there was something minor they got it done in 24-48 hours. I've never had a problem with tenants, in fact made a couple friends from neighbors. I had to move to save money for next steps in life. I have before, and I still will recommend people to Atlas to help them find a place. Have nothing but great things to say about Atlas Realty as being a tenant with them for a bit over 9 years. The three times I've moved Atlas realty team has been able to locate me in great areas/neighborhoods. As I seen the other reviews I don't understand why the negativity towards them. Marko and the employees at the office are always there to assist me and whomever has a question or an emergency at their residence. There hasn't been an incident were I've been dissatisfied with their assistance during this time period. ZERO STARS. Bad experience. We were interested in one of their commercial storefront properties. We called the number listed on the store & a man answered, we asked our questions and he answered accordingly. His name was Marco & was the listing agent for the property. My partner called again with more questions & finally we made an appointment to see the property. He was hard to get a hold of & had to reschedule the appointment. While he offered text, he wasn't reliable in returning texts or phone calls. When we finally scheduled an appointment to view on a Wednesday, he didn't even show up himself, he sent the maintenance guy with the keys to show us the properties. The maintenance guy spoke broken English and couldn't answer any of our questions, obviously. We called Marco back with some questions & also let him know we were interested in moving forward and securing the property. When asked about the next steps, he kept saying to call him back. When we called back, he didn't answer or replied to our messages. When he finally did answer on Friday, he just said "yeah just go into the office and fill out an application." Really? You couldn't tell us this when you had us on the phone earlier? We called the office to find out about the application process and the woman who answered advised that we need to physically come in before 5:30pm Monday - Friday to fill out an application and pay the fee. They are not open on Saturdays (very inconvenient). I advised that we couldn't come in during business hours anytime soon, as I am working business hours myself. I asked if she could email the application and she said she would. This was early Friday morning. I called again in the afternoon and spoke to another woman who said she would email me the application. I checked my spam and my emails all day and received NOTHING. I even sent a pleasant email to them via their website to request an application form, sent them my email and phone number & advised that I was waiting for it as well. We received no application or phone call at all. After that, we decided to look elsewhere. Worst customer service experience, ever. In this day and age of texting and email, information should be sent quickly and efficiently. Calls and texts should be answered promptly. While we understand that everyone has busy schedules, this is not the proper way to conduct business. Stay away from this realty/property management company. GO ELSEWHERE! Not sure how they have stayed in business for over 40 years... Fortunately, we found another commercial location to better suit our needs & am working with a fantastic owner. read more

ZERO STARS They requested (in writing) that I drop off an apartment application in person. I took off from work and stood outside their office until 9:30. No one showed up. It was 17 degrees. I setup an appointment to look at the apartment, but -- oops -- the office staff forgot to tell the building manager. So, again, I ended up standing outside for 1/2 hour waiting for an appointment that didn't exist. I waited 8 weeks to see the apartment. Every week they told me it wasn't ready. They also told me the rent was $750. In January they rented it to someone else without ever showing it to me. Oh, and they lowered the rent for him to $720. I haven't witnessed such blatant discrimination in my life. They city attorney's are very interested in this case. read more

I have rented the same apartment through Atlas Realty for 14 years now and have never had a problem communicating with the office. Anytime I needed anything repair, it was done in a timely manner. Marco takes care of all the maintenance in my building and you couldn't ask for a better person. He is very knowledgeable and handy. I've never had a problem getting in touch with Marco and getting a problem solved. As a matter of fact, a few weeks ago on a Sunday night there was a problem with the heat in the building. ! Renter beware! As an industry professional, I was appalled at this company's rudeness and incompetence. Something as easy as faxing a 1 page document became an ordeal. They continued to hang up on me and a colleague when we were just trying to do our job. From Tuesday to Saturday, I continued to request their cooperation on a simple matter. They blew it off even when we asked nicely, they still hung up before the conversation was over. I continued to persist by calling the 773.282.7653 and they only got ruder. Once I threatened escalation, Judy called me screaming at how I was harassing her and rattled off some other company that I am suppose to deal with. On date 27 of November 2016, I received a bill from Atlas Realty Properties, explaining that I need to pay the amount of $313 for the cost of a repair inside of my condominium unit 203 FOR A THERMOSTAT that in Menards or Home Depot cost $ 25 dollars Unfortunately, this management never contacted me to let me know if I would agree to have any such repairs done to my property, as well as the price to the repair cost. They had my phone number, email address, yet I was never once contacted prior. What was the reason for this? read more

I've worked with Atlas Realty for almost 4 years now, and I have no complaints. The apartment I rent in Albany Park is in an older building, but pretty well maintained and the rent is so unbelievably cheap I just can't seem to leave. When something needs fixing, they reply within a day and can typically get there that same day, if not, then definitely the next day. Last year, I locked myself out on Thanksgiving Day and someone came and opened up my apartment for me. I felt really bad because it was a holiday but I was incredibly thankful. I work with Marko (who can come by and fix anything) and Mara typically. They're both wonderful people, very responsive, and very flexible. I have lived in 3 other apartments in Chicago and the landlords/management companies have been horrible. I'm so glad I stumbled upon Atlas and the building I live in. If I ever move out of this building, I'll try to rent in another building that they manage! read more

My experience with Atlas Realty started about a year and a half ago. I was looking for an apartment in the Albany Park/Mayfair/northside of Chicago area. I stumbled upon Atlas Realty by total luck, but in retrospect, I'm so glad I did. I had been living in a studio apartment on Elston St of Atlas Realty's for the past yr and a half, and, my lease was up in March 2016, and I wanted to move elsewhere for a change of pace. I looked and looked and looked, but couldn't find anything that I truly wanted. I put my stuff in storage, as my lease was ending. As Im moving my stuff out, I casually run into Marko, the guy that handles all the maintenance and apartment showings of the buildings, and he tells me about this studio unit in the very same building I was leaving, but in the back of the building, same price, everything, but available in May 2016. Marko has always been so kind, so helpful, very insightful, and has always given me really good advice and assistance whenever I needed it. Atlas Realty is the type of company that very quietly, very nicely, and very efficiently does what it has to do - provide top rate service to local renters in the Chicagoland area. Marlene, the lady that works in their main office in Jefferson Park, is very fair and helpful. But id have to say the real benefit of working with Atlas Realty for the past yr and a half and now, since I just signed a new 1 yr lease, for the next year, is the ability to work with Marko in case any problems or concerns of mine arise.
