I have to give to Hamilton. He rebuilt my transmission and now she drives like a dream. I wish transmission work wasn't so expensive, but if I was going to spend the money I'm glad I spent it there. Was recommended atlas cause our 2008 Mazda 3 was having transmission issues. They were nice at first, said they're gonna do a free diagnostic and would take about 3 days since they were a bit busy. Now skip to 2 weeks later, no calls, no communication. My wife constantly calling and being told the "manager" is out almost every day of the week. She was left a butt dialed voicemail by one of the mechanics which only displayed their vulgar language and crude behavior. The one time I call them myself the manager is suddenly somewhere to be found. The car needed a new temp gauge as it was leaking coolant but doesn't explain transmission slipping. They wanted to take apart transmission and I asked if they checked transmission fluid first to be met with another excuse. So I picked up my car, took it to my regular trusted mechanic who told me he can't do transmissions but will at least check it out. Car had 0 Trans fluid, it was as dry as the desert. Second he filled it back up slipping stopped. Never had an issue since and he replaced the temp gauge for cheaper than what they offered. ​If I stuck with atlas and didn't listen to my gut i could have easily spent thousands of dollars for an imaginary problem. After reading all reviews we decided to take a chance with Atlas Transmissions. We gave them our Jeep Patriot 2011 for diagnostics. After diagnostics Xavier Delgado, who's the only honest employee in there told us that the problem looks to be electric, he's the manager. A day after I called back again to check the status, and another person named Jim told us that the owner said that he will not repair the transmission because I personally change the valve body. After Xavier discussed the issue with him. They agreed to repair. After they took down and open the transmission they said that repair wasn't an option because parts and labor will be like $3,100 and only 90 days warranty, or a pull out transmission with 6 months warranty for $2,900. I went to AAMCO before and they asked me for $3,600 for a certified re manufactured transmission by Mopar. My intention was to take the Jeep out of Atlas and go back to AAMCO and allow them to replace the transmission, but Xavier talked to the owner, a real unprofessional and unethical guy called William Empke, known as Bill, and he agreed to match AAMCO price. Since we were already there and we want the car running ASAP, we decided to make this bad deal with Atlas, giving them $3,000 deposit with a credit card. They promise the Jeep back on Wednesday 08/05 and I never heard from them until 08/07 Friday at 4:30 PM, rushing us to be there by 5:00 PM, impossible. Today Monday 08/10/2020, we spoke to Xavier in the morning and he mentioned that the Jeep was ready. My wife Sonia requested him to do a test drive of the Jeep before satisfying the balance of $1,900 and he agreed. By noon we were there and one of the mechanics came out and told us that all was ready, only the plastic cover needs to be reinstalled. We asked him to do the test drive and he said that was OK. I turn on the Jeep and went out to the test drive, then the owner and one of his pimps start yelling and saying dirty words, I went down of the Jeep and explained to this Moron that this is my car, my wife was staying at the shop and I will not test ride with anyone else because Covid-19. He instructed his pimp to call the Police. I went to the test ride, find anything good and returned back to the shop. The owner left and 5 minutes later a deputy from PBSO arrived and the pimp give his version, I gave mine, and no issues, just need to pay and go home. When we went to the office to pay, the owner gave his personnel instructions to not accept any kind of payment other than cash for the balance of $1,900. We paid the first $3,000 by a credit card, and he was aware that the final balance was going to be paid with another debit and credit card. This guy William Empke is abusive, intolerant, a bad business owner without ethics and didn't sustain his words, his employees are trying the best and he break any business or decision they make. Simply, my advice, stay trouble free, don't go to this place, they don't know what's Customer Service, they call the police for their customers. Now we will file complaints in the Better Business Bureau for violation of their ethics as a member of BBB, and to file a formal complaint at the Courthouse and they will need to pay for our lawyers fees since they cause this situation. Need to leave positive review about (1) customer service, very friendly, (2) resolution of problem, trans seems to be working silent, smooth and correctly (3) follow up, Bob explained service provided, what I should expect, plus what to do problem returns. Atlas Transmission on S Military provided service in 1 morning that Al Packer Ford service department had advised would take at least 4 weeks to resolve. if you have a transmission problem consider Atlas @ 3180 S Military. Stay away from this place at all costs. Transmission wasn't shifting and was told that the first thing I needed was a new transmission computer for $2k before they even opened up the transmission to assess the damage. Then the real charges would begin to rack up. I brought my car to another mechanic who simply changed the fluid, pan and filter and gasket that fixed the problem. Please don't make the mistake of going to this place. All they do is lie to your face. They say that they'll make a payment plan with you and when the time comes to actually pay, they tell you "that's not how we run our business" and make you pay the entire fee upfront. You don't get your car back until you pay the entire amount due. For somebody with financial issues, this is a huge struggle. Never trust a word they say. read more

I guess they did a good job on the transmission, BUT they vandalized an antique radio that was left in the car. No way to prove it. I will NEVER be able to replace that radio I've had for 50 years! This place really deserves NO stars but that's not an option. My mother whose retired and on a fixed income Chevy Impala transmission went out. She took it to her 30 plus years mechanic but could not afford the upfront cost. Therefore, he referred her to Atlas transmissions because they offer payment plans. She thought this was the way to go after all they offered "free towing" to their shop; right. However, once there she was told they could not give a price on the repairs of the transmission. The initial diagnostic fee was $450 to just take it apart in order to determine the issue. So after a week of feeling great apprehension, she felt that she could trust Raymond. After all her options were limited; she agreed. So another week pass, he gave out his diagnostics (transmission plus the shifter), total cost was $2135. I helped her pay for the repairs and today when we arrived to pick up her vehicle, the compartment surrounding the gear shifter was all torn off and a screw driver was thrown on her seat; the receipt read transmission repaired with a 12,000 mile or 12 month warranty. "Advised that shifter needs to be repaired" at this point and only at this point my mom was told by Raymond "oh we dont fix that; you have to take that back to your own mechanic. We will show you how to shift your gears with the screwdriver." So she got her transmission repaired for $2135 and then had to directly drive to another mechanic because she did not know how to SHIFT GEARS WITH A SCREWDRIVER. We Have been going to them for 10 years. We have had our transmission rebuilt by them 4 times in those 10 years. Raymond who used to work there has been amazing. We just had the transmission done again 3 months ago. We took the truck back in on 11/11/19 was told by New employee (Manager Jim) that it would be done Friday 11/15/19 Then on the 15th told Monday the 18th. Then on 18th told the 20th. Today truck is still there and no transmission in it. Then this morning after Boyfriend went there, I called. Spoke with Jim inquired about what was going on, no answer and got hung up on. Asked for owner Bills name and what time he would be in he told me 10 am. At 9 am Jim called us told us they were waiting for a part that Bill the owner was there. In the week never was told that they needed a part for it. Boyfriend drove 5 minutes to shop asked to speak to Bill, Jim said he is in shop, the guys in shop said bill not there. I call back, told Jim he has lied again, and he said that Bill was now in a meeting. So first he left then in a meeting. and that Bill will call us back It is no 11:44 call from Bill. read more

A long story short. My car went in to them in mid November 2016 for a 2 day repair. On January 2, 2017 I was told we are still waiting on parts. I told them they own the car now. I had to buy a new car while waiting. They still demanded payment. Today is February 8th and I have not received my car back from them! Stay away! read more

June 2017 i took m van here for a knocking. They said and confirmed it was a cracked fly wheel. 750 later it was fixed with oem parts so i was told. Fast forward to today less then 2 years later i was back for same noise. Took it to the sop this morning. Manager Bob had 2 guys look at it. I told them it was the same sound it made back in June. They said i was wrong. That it was a knock in the lower motor. Mind you i have had all the oil changed on a reg basis and my van only has 69000 miles on it. But they said i had lower end issues! I Left there and went to Harveys down the street. Chris the mech came out first thing he said without looking just listening was the flywheel was cracked. I said take it apart let me know. 2 hours later get the call, Broken flywheel. I said repair it. They called ford got an OEM part and fixed for 595.00, Found out the flywheel used was not a dealer part but a cheap after market made in mexico... Also my mom took her 04 Murano to atlas 2 years ago. She needed a new transmission. Atlas quoted her 2000.00 more then the dealer for the same thing. Avoid Atlas at all cost. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely awful customer service after having my car a week and neglecting to repair what I brought it in for. Didn't have me on file and needed my receipts from over 6 months ago to prove I had previously been there! Wtf?? The men up front obviously thought they were dealing with somebody who was ignorant...I'm an engineer. They told me that "if I brought it in for a coolant leak, it SHOULD be fixed". Well it wasn't fixed and my reservoir was bone dry...after being told they didn't have the equipment to repair my coolant lines...(a rubber hose) and telling the men up front I just want to take my business elsewhere, they then told me they could do me a favor and repair the lines. The same freaking lines that they "didn't have the equipment" to fix for the last 7 days. Either the guys that run this business don't even know what their shop can do, or it's easier for them to lie to my face and back pedal afterwards. Shout out to Javier the mechanic who was honest with me as I went back and forth between him and his bosses because they weren't competent enough to have this shit written down in my file!!!! read more

Terrible experience. They constantly changed there story (and estimate). Charles, the main person is a nightmare to deal with. Repairs went from a few days to a week and then to two weeks. There excuse...they where busy. Even though they promised my car would be the top priority to get me to sign the work order. Avoid at all cost. Bill, the owner is not a man of his word at all. My mother brought her Chevy Cavalier in for transmission work. Atlas wanted to charge $500 just to tear apart the transmission to find out what was wrong, which is standard practice. After finding out the problem, they asked for her SSN and mother's maiden name unless she was willing to come down and pay prior to the work being done. She chose to pay up front rather than give out personal information. $2500 later, after the car was finished, she was told they used rebuilt (used) parts. She was not told they would be using used parts prior to agreeing to the work. The work was only guaranteed for 18 months, and she was told she'd have to bring it back in one month so they could check it to make sure everything was still good. We will not be using Atlas for anything ever again and will advise our friends to avoid this place as well. We should have gone down the street to the competitor's shop instead. read more

AVOID if you want peace of mind. They charge more than top dollar for a soft rebuild at best. Then, you go back and say that the shifts are slow and drag out compared to what it was like before the trans went bad, and the bald headed obnoxious douche of an owner starts his BS about pressures and any other crap he can think of. The bottom line is this....a soft rebuild. Didn't replace servo or the O-rings needed. didn't replace any shift solenoids, etc, etc, etc. $2500.00 for a far less than quality repair. You can buy a rebuild from the dealer for less, and it would work as new. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more
