I had an out-of-state friend in town who wanted to go thrifting so after following Atomic Junk's social media for years, scanning and dreaming about all of the cool stuff they offer, we went in. This is more of a retro vintage store and what makes this place different is that they don't just collect donations, the owner actually hits the road sometimes and brings back really cool finds from other areas. There are a ton of really stylish, funky, colorful artsy pieces to bring flair to your life or you! There are tons of goodies to help you communicate your vibe! This is such a fun shop with so many unique and interesting items -- I truly enjoyed browsing and had an armful of pieces I was excited to purchase. Unfortunately, the checkout experience left me feeling disappointed. A couple prices being adjusted on the spot is understandable, but having tags removed and being quoted significantly higher prices felt uncomfortable and unexpected. One used purse was priced close to (or above) what I could purchase it for new at a regular retail store, and it wasn't a vintage item. It genuinely hurt to leave the items behind because I loved what I found. I just couldn't move forward with pricing that felt inconsistent. I hope the shop can work toward more transparent pricing, as it really is a lovely space with so much potential. read more

SOOOO MY VIBE!!!!!! My 13 year old daughter found this store and asked me to take her she said I would like it too, she was wrong I love love love love love this place I want everything in the store! The owner must be my soulmate LOL! We tried very hard not to buy out the whole store they have eclectic clothing that you will never find at Target, Old Navy, department stores you know those boooooring places where moms get kid's clothing. The prices are great!!!! A super intricate embroidery linen top was $30, it looks expensive, yes it is second hand but everything on the rack was in good condition. Jewelry, the rustic kinds with stones and again very detailed designs were $8.99. I will go back and get some iron wall hooks, they are in the shape of animal and sea animals and in various sizes, most are 1 hook but they have the multiple ones I have to measure our space and go back. They had the coolest rustic Ugg boots with a strap that wraps around with a metal bead at the end of leather strap I wanted it but it was too big. They were in very good condition. The men's rider boots are so cool, there is nothing sexier than a man with worn out cool boots. You guys all need to stop wearing Sketchers you aren't 5 anymore I promise you will get more chicks if you don't wear running shoes. If you are wanting a cool make over then go there and ask the nice lady there to find an ensemble for you she's so nice and so helpful! They have kids stuff too for cool kids! And what's so fun about these places is there will always be new things, I would love to have the job of finding things to sell here. I am an avid thrifter. Whenever I travel anywhere I like to check out the local shops. This store is what my Dad would call "Funky Fresh," and I concur. I was greeted right away by a nice lady, which was nice. I love how things are displayed. There is a lot to see in this small space. I did find the prices to be a bit high, but I am cheap, so... I kept seeing posts about this place re-opening on Instagram and finally stopped in recently to give it a shot. It's a cute little store, but it has more rooms than you'd think - it definitely used to be an old small house. It was a cute little place to browse around for a bit - little collectibles, housewares, men's and women's clothing, accessories, etc. I liked looking through the kitchen area items especially, though in the end, nothing struck my fancy enough to purchase. Cute little hidden gem full of groovy stuff. Maybe a little too much contemporary crystal hippie stuff up front but keep going deeper into this funky joint and the decades unspool. I have never been to Redondo Beach area before, but I went here the other day on my birthday. My boyfriend wanted to check this thrift store out, so he took me here lol. I was not expecting to go out shopping, but I found some unique clothing and they were pretty affordable and decent price. (My bf ended up buying for me :) They have really cute accessories, vintage kitchenware, women/men's clothing, and random knick knacks. The ladies were very welcoming and nice as we walked in too. As a serious vintage shopper and thrifter, shopping at Atomic Junk is like being transported to heaven. I could spend hours upon hours here perusing the contemporary and vintage selections. It's curated and not overly cluttered. I was having a bad day but spending an hour or two in the store, along with the lovely associate Nicole who is as friendly as they come, restored my soul. Luckily I was able to check out this place while hanging out in Redondo Beach. With all thrift stores, it's always a hit or miss so it's good to always look because you never know when you will hit....and this time I did! Found a lovely wool sweater jacket for only $16-great condition, fit well and when I looked it up later, has a retail value of $340! Mainly women items, but there may be some items for men too. Small and quaint not to many items and mostly Miniatures are plastic and remind me of those prizes you get at a gym all machine but pricier as they are 2 miniatures for $5. Saw they had a rock collection but also were pricey, maybe place was not for me. read more

My hubby and I went to check out this little gem recently. It is tiny, but chock full of all kinds of stuff. It's a cross between a thrift shop and an antique store. I feel like the merchandise is more antique store quality, but without the antique store price tags. We love to shop at thrift stores, flea markets, and estate sales. We found quite an assortment of fun, quirky goodies to take home with us...little things like troll dolls, paperweights, handbags, clothing, statues, and pieces of "Americana." Before my personal Atomic, retro blast, I visited my Freudian psychoanalyst at least four times a week to bemoan my repressed childhood; the greedy ineptitude of certain, humorless Republican family members and the absence of REAL, old school vintage treasure shops with curated finds, cultivated aesthetic, friendly folks, and inexpensive finds. Since meeting Lindsey and her cool crew at Atomic Junk, I am actually working through my countless tics and neurosis by just lingering and looking throughout the store. Atomic Junk gives me hope again: that locally owned, women-owned businesses can survie and thrive in South Redondo, and possibly encourage the continued development of an artsy, authentic scene sans gentrification and snobby out of towners with bad vintage vibes and ridiculously overpriced second hand western wear (you know who you are!) that would only be out of place and inappropriate at the beach. Atomic Junk, in contrast, is.a really special scene. Instead of seeing my shrink, psychic, decorator and design consultant, I head to Atomic headquarters and beeline for the toy section. All my old toys are there from 70s suburbia and I swear I have massive flashbacks of polyester and fantastic, plastic. All that's missing is mom's neat green shag rug. Note: four stars NOT five: staff is friendly, but a bit more emphasis on reaching out to regular clients and follow through would be extraordinary! read more

If you haven't been by this place, and you are into thrift stores, you really need to go to Atomic Junk. I must of driven by this place 100 times. I noticed it, but didn't give it a second thought because it looked like an expensive boutique. I was completely wrong! My wife and I love thrift stores, a lot! IF YOU ARE A HATER, OR A CLOSED MINDED PERSON, PLEASE STOP READING NOW! It's funny, yesterday I waked into a thrift store, and spent probably 30 minutes looking around. Then I walked into a Marshalls that was right next door and spend about 2 minutes in there. Thrift stores have that "unknown factor", which I just can't seem to get enough of. Atomic Junk is now one of my favorite thrift stores! Don't look at the 29 pics that are one here. They are very nice artistic pics, but they don't do it justice. In my opinion, they have way cooler stuff there, and I know I didn't see all of it. I didn't take any pics, but if by chance you watch American Pickers, and you have seen an episode where Mike, and Frank walk into a "honey hole", where they walk into someones collection, and it's all displayed really nice, that's what Atomic Junk is like! This is my new favorite little thrift boutique! She opened her doors only 6 months ago and you can tell she's gonna be around for 30years! She has one of the best assortments of interesting offbeat collectibles and amazingly priced. It was so well organized you could almost stand in one spot in each room and slowly scan every shelf don't worry there were still a few hidden tree assures I had to dig for but that's what I love is finding that one piece that makes the day worth it. Normally I would keep a little treasure like this hidden but she is such a amazing person who has found her calling in life.
