The omelette is good, breakfast platter is good. The best thing is the salad this place has. The picture doesn't really show but it is heavy. The portion is huge and clean. All the ladies there work together and efficient. Good place to get breakfast and it is super close to Hyatt and Marriott hotel, just walk to the corner and turn left. Super close by.

1/2 chicken salad sandwich and a sugar cookie

I have visited this cafe off and on for years. They are a clean competent lunch option, they handle huge lunch crowds of white collar workers in the area. So think clean and functional. The food is ok, Not special. I paid $18 for a chicken salad sandwich drink and cookie. The staff is professional not nice. Not a lot of smiles but they aren't rude.

So hungry & thirsty after walking 4 miles.

After walking 4 miles, we needed food and rest. This was the closest place - definitely not the cheapest. It was a little chaotic inside - canned drinks and prepackaged sandwiches on one side, and self service foods, including the grill and desserts on the other. We got the chicken fingers and fries, mac'n'cheese, and hot dog. Husband got a fountain drink for $4.95, and the only water without your own container was the Dasani in a can or the cup for $4.95. I got the latter. The food was decent. The chicken fingers and fries were hot enough. The hot dog was warm, and even though the mac'n'cheese was not hot, it WAS delicious. Instead of water? I got the pink lemonade, and added water to it to cut the sweetness. There is a water bottle fill station next to the water fountains. These are next to the fountain drinks. There are plenty of tables, and they are cleaned regularly. The utensils, cups, and trays are reusable. Meals are in cardboard sleeves, plates or bowls. The environment is taken into consideration for most of the food products.

    Turkey Sandwich on sourdough bread

We stayed at the citizenM hotel up the block and while searching for breakfast, I found this place. Highly recommended by workers in the neighborhood so we decided to try. You can tell a lot of important people or they work in important offices, come and have lunch there. We had lunch the first day and breakfast the next. Both were good. The turkey is so delicious! I had a sandwich on sourdough bread and my bf had the beef special wrap. That was good too. For breakfast, I appreciated that they had Turkey sausage and bacon options. I wanted another turkey sandwich but it was ready yet. So I enjoyed a turkey sausage with egg and cheese on a croissant & it was great. If I'm ever in town again, I'll def make a stop here.

excellent price and it's a nice touch that they carve the meat off the turkey. Can't get more fresh than that!

I like fresh sandwiches, and love carved meat. They specialize in both along with a soup of choice.

We were seated on the ground floor. The decor was exotic in a pleasant way and it looked like there were many seating or standing options. It was quiet in the early afternoon. We ordered the fries with aioli, I had the lamb tartare and my friend the lamb bolognese, and we both had pound cake for dessert. We both deeply enjoyed the taste and presentation of the dishes we ordered. The fries were hot and crispy and the aioli delicious -- I only wish there were more given the generous portion of fries. My tartare had the taste and texture of pate, despite the lamb chop exterior. Very clever. The aroma was just right. The cake was warm and moist with a crispy crust. My friend remarked that dishes of similar quality, taste, and presentation would cost triple in Manhattan. Regrettably, we were charged $12 for the $10 dessert. The waiter attributed it to a "computer error," but I've had to deal with overcharging by several of my favorite DC restaurants. Whether intentional or not, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Other cons: The menu is admittedly sketchy. My friend and I were unwilling to gamble on expensive and elaborate dishes. It sounds like the reviewers here did. Also, the restaurant is located in the heart of Capitol Hill, far from the metro. It's a long walk or you'll be looking for parking. Butterworth's is now my favorite restaurant in DC. I've been wanting to bring my family here for the longest time, but I've hesitated because I don't want to deal with the contempt of the host, the embarrassment of disputing false charges, and the pain of finding parking. I've been wanting to return solo for the longest time, but I've hesitated because the place is in the middle of nowhere, and I don't want to walk 25 minutes or pay $15 for a cab ride just to pay another $50 for a meal here, as wonderful as the experience might be. All that said, in terms of taste, presentation, ambiance, and price, Butterworth's left a strong and positive impression on me.

There was also a selection of hot sauces to add to your meal too. Space was open with high ceilings and lots of natural light! Few tables to sit at our different bar spots. Their menu is simple with all the espresso classics, but they also had some interesting drinks that I wanted to try. I got the ELDERBERRY MATCHA since I was curious about the combination. The barista recommended whole milk (or non-dairy milk) since it doesn't take away from the elderberry and matcha flavors as much as non-dairy milk, and I completely agreed! The elderberry syrup popped through the matcha and it wasn't too sweet! The drink overall was very enjoyable and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Their iced Vietnamese latte is pretty good during the summer time... and I've also tried hot Vietnamese latte, which is alright and pretty much an average taste. They usually have a rotating flavor for latte specials such as matcha latte or elderberry matcha latte for example. They are not too bad and just unique. But I'd settle down for a regular latte instead of being adventurous on different tasting from this coffee shop. Alternative milk costs about extra $0.75 if you desire something more than just milk in your latte, just for your information. Service is quick and simple. The barista is friendly and interactive when you order something.
