I recently went to Ted's Bulletin for a double date. My go to is the Marks Breakfast. We all shared the Jumbo Cinnamon Bun which was good. The cinnamon bun was large but it didn't really have an X factor. Service was good as well. I call ahead to get a table specifically to accommodate a stroller but I didn't get the correct table.

The service was average for any restaurant. The manager and other servers did many rounds to offer everyone at the different tables if they needed more waters. The atmosphere is laid back and very casual. The food was decent but nothing made it stand out. The deviled eggs with mustard seed was a nice touch and I love deviled eggs with bacon. The truffle fries taste more like a slight version of garlic fries and the flavor is just not there. The grilled cheese was good but nothing made it stand out. The tomato soup was the best thing I ordered as it was very creamy and rich but again didn't blow me away. I believe the serving size of almost everything can be shared between friends or couples. This is a place to stop in for a bite but level expectations.

Great place for lunch! The food here is amazing. Got the fried chicken sandwich and it was enough for 2 meals. We had a large group and the service and food came very quickly. They treated us very well, especially for a group. The space itself was also nice looking and modern.

I am in DC for a conference, so obviously solo dining can always be an interesting experience. I decided to give Ted's Bulletin a try as I was craving some classic comfort food after a long travel day. First off, service was phenomenal. I felt so welcomed and received equal amounts of attention compared to those groups of people who may have a larger bill. The inside was cozy and casual. I ordered the classic Ted's grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese was so incredibly melted and perfectly toasted. The tomato soup had a delicate, not acidic and not salty taste. It was just right. I also got the marshmallow cupcake to go, which unfortunately I did not grab a picture of because I was too busy enjoying it! A great spot if you want a good meal with a casual environment, given DC is a fine dining city.

I feel like this is a great place to take a friend that's visiting DC for breakfast. It's classic, timeless dishes with a twist, and delightful service. Our server is always great and friendly and the menu is gorgeous. The chicken and waffles are a must try if you have to order anything. The eggs Benedict is divine. Tip: call for a reservation it gets very busy and prepare for a bit of patience and enjoy your company! The environment is warm and classic.

So I do like it here but it's crazy how expensive it is and the drinks are expensive too. Probably in the past 3 visits at least one mistake each visit. Come visit in the day. What a carnival

Went to Ted's for July 5th brunch, would highly recommend! The food was delicious and came out quickly, and the service from Keith was amazing and very kind.

Came here for the first time with hubby on a weekend. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer, seasonal ted tart (cherry blossom), mushroom gyro, and chicken and biscuits. Total came out to approximately $54, not including tip. What's Hot - Quality. Delicious. Their fried pickles appetizer is so good! My husband and I have tried our fair share of fried from numerous restaurants. This place is the top contender. The pickles are large slices, not overly battered, and served with a buffalo ranch sauce. Their buffalo ranch sauce definitely has a spicy kick, which my husband and I enjoyed. My mushroom gyro was so good! It was nicely seasoned, had a nice texture, and had a fair amount of vegetables included in the wrap. My husband and I enjoyed their fries, which are not too salty and have a nice texture. My husband really enjoyed his chicken and biscuits. He was disappointed that there was no spice from the hot honey that coated the biscuits. However, he loved the texture of the biscuits. The biscuits were soft and tender. They tasted freshly made. - Menu. That they serve breakfast all day is much appreciated, because my husband and I love breakfast. They have a good variety- something for everyone, including vegans. - Portions. Very good. My husband and I left full. Good value for money. - Location. Within reasonable walking distance from the U Street metro, which is helpful. - 5 percent service fee. It's in fine print on their menu, but it appears they change a 5% service fee so that their staff are paid a minimum wage. - Reservations. I made reservations and upon arrival, we waited less than a couple of minutes to get seated. Definitely recommend making reservations, because this place appears to be very popular and gets busy quickly. What's Not - Service. Inattentive and do not pay attention to details. Our waitress was not good. To start, we ordered water for drinks and our appetizer arrived first. After our appetizer arrived, I had to pull another wait staff aside and ask for water. Additionally, I finished my water glass and no one refilled it. My husband also asked for an additional side of fries. The waitress substituted the hash browns with the fries and we were charged $2 extra for that. I'm uncertain if substitutions are explained and included in their menu, but we were surprised by the substitution charge. - Acoustics. Terrible. The noise in this restaurant carries, so on days when it is busy, it gets very loud in here. Additionally, they play loud music. Combine the loud music with the noise of the customers makes it very difficult to have a conversation here. Definitely a detractor. My husband and I agree that this not a place we would return to for dine in. We will only order takeaway. Final Answer Willing to come back, but to order takeaway and not dine in.

We stopped in for brunch and thankfully we had a reservation because they were busy and bustling. After a short wait we were seated. The menu has lots of yummy options to pick from. We selected the chicken and waffles and grilled chicken. The chicken was white meat and said to be juicy and flavorful, the waffle was said to be on the drier side and some extra hot honey was helpful. The grilled shrimp tacos were lacking flavor and not enjoyable. Definitely not something I would order again. The server was attentive despite being very busy in his service area. The hostess was also friendly and full of energy, great person to have at the front.

Was impressed by my initial visit. I've been an occasional customer at Cap Hill, so my first time to try another location of Ted's (there are 8 now). Ages ago, I used to live in an apt. on 14th Street, 3 blocks from here. Ted's was nowhere on the radar screen then. My, how this neighborhood has changed. Ordered the crab cake benedict. It's high quality, topped with a splendid, homemade hollandaise sauce (not from a mix). Split the order with hub; plating was lovely. Hash browns were golden crisp and cappuccino was delicious, plentiful. Very good customer service, too.

Ted's is a perfect spot for breakfast in the city! It's so cozy, with a traditional diner feel, but with so many awesome and diverse options. They are famous for their Ted's tarts which are always so fresh and I love trying the seasonal flavors. We recently went for breakfast and I got the Turkish eggs - so flavorful, light, & delicious. Our server, Karina, was amazing and so sweet!

My sister told me this was the place to go for breakfast in DC, and she was right. Ted's Bulletin was packed when we arrived, so there was a long wait, but we decided to sit at the counter instead. That turned out to be a great choice. Our server at the counter took good care of us, and the food presentation was very nice across the board. I ordered the pancakes with chicken sausage, and everything came out hot and well prepared. I have to say, though, the cinnamon rolls were calling my name. If my diet would have allowed it, I would have ordered one on the spot they looked incredible. They also had house-made Pop-Tarts and other pastries that looked really good. My sister had the Huevos Rancheros , and she really enjoyed her meal as well. The place was so busy that by the time they called our name for the original table, we had already finished eating and were ready to leave. On the way out, we saw more of the Pop-Tarts and baked goods on display, and it just confirmed that this is a spot worth visiting. If you're coming to DC and want a great breakfast or brunch spot, Ted's Bulletin is definitely a place you should put on your list. I'd give them 5 stars.

If you do anything when you go, please make sure to get the biscuits. Hands down THE BEST BISCUITS I've ever had lol. They are the most flaky and buttery biscuits, you can count each layer that these have. Pro tip is to ask for butter and the house made jam. The pimento cheese is good with them but it becomes a little too decadent. Overall I'm happy we made the decision to come here, we will be back soon.

We were sat in the solarium area, and it was during the heat dome, and it was really warm in there. Otherwise, though, it's completely charming inside and reminds us of some of the best French bistros we've been to in the country (e.g. Balzathar, Le Supreme). The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. Four stars, and we have already declared that we will be back again to "The Dip" because there is so much else on the menu that we want to try.

I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it. We could tell that they had all the families with little kids grouped to one side of the restaurant, and we felt that was clever and convenient. The food was great! We both got salads. I loved the snap pea chicken salad. And my husband really liked the soba noodle salmon salad. He had a Bloody Mary, and I had a yummy mocktail. Everything was great, including the service!

If that Coke wasn't a Pepsi, it was definitely a Coke Zero or Diet Coke. It tasted awful. Now, the food. The fries were pretty decent, but the au jus that came with my French dip wasn't hot, and it wasn't enough for the whole sandwich. The bread is supposed to get lost in the au jus with every bite. I had to ask for another boat. The menu said the sandwich had Gruyère, but if it was there, I couldn't taste it. I could taste horseradish and arugula. It wasn't worth the $33 menu price. The ambiance is a bit loud. The restaurant is very reverb-y, so I heard lots of talking (though some of it was probably due to the music's being too loud), but the waitstaff didn't compensate, so it was hard to hear their voices.

Honestly we were so pleasantly surprised by how good the burgers are! I had the Capital Burger which had such incredible flavor and the burger itself is thick and juicy. Despite having just had a big dinner somewhere else, as I write this, my mouth is watering. My daughter had the wild mushrooms burger and she loved it -- the aioli had the perfect tang to go with the mushroom and Swiss, both burgers were cooked perfectly medium as requested. The old fashioned was just your typical old fashioned with a slice of candied bacon attached to the outside of the glass. We were hoping for something smokier and a little different but it was still a very good Old Fashioned. We shared the chocolate mousse and it was perfection. Yum! If I lived here this would be my new regular spot.
