The Attic is one of the few places on the east side of town to eat south of 10th street so it's often busy when we go, even on slow week nights. I always like to try new burgers when I go out so I've had almost every burger on their menu. They are pretty good burgers but nothing special. It seems like they slightly overcook them but the way they dress them makes them good. We have done pick-up orders and more times than not they have either not answered the phone or answered and acted like they were so busy they couldn't talk to me. I like the atmosphere other than it is always really loud. The high ceilings and walls are nice, along with the TVs. I'm not sure if it's the acoustics in the room or if the TVs are way too loud--maybe a combination of both. They are currently adding on and from the outside looks like they are doubling the size. That might help with how busy it can get. read more

Went here for after work drinks and we just had a table for 4. Our waitress took a while to come to our table to take drink orders then seemed annoyed that we wanted to order food. After our food arrived she didn't check on us til our beers were empty. She got us new ones but it took her a long time to bring us them. Then 5 mins after she brought us our beers she gave us our checks without asking us if we were ready for them. Very rude. Found out that she was leaving early and wanted us to pay her so she'd get her tips. I'd rather her tell us she was leaving instead of being rude. Our family of five went for lunch on a Saturday. Atmosphere seemed great, nicely staged. We ordered our food and then watched every other person that arrived after us received their meals. I went to find our waitress and found the manager instead. No apologies and cold food arrived five minutes later. Nobody checked back in with us. Went here about two months ago, food was overpriced, service was shabby, waitress was extremely inattentive. Don't plan on ever going back, we were made to feel as if we were an intrusion into her life. I've been going here for years, from lunch to appetizers to drinks to organizing some huge birthday parties here. Service is fantastic, food is consistently delicious. I absolutely cannot believe what happened to me last night! First of all, I am a REGULAR customer....go there often and have enjoyed it every time....that is until last night! At the end of the night, I paid my bill with cash....that would have left the waitress "Liz" was her name...about $4 and change.....my fiancé was going to leave a cash tip on the table when we were ready to leave. Well, the waitress came back and said to me, "did I do something wrong?" I said, why? She said because you only left me a $4 tip and I have to split with the bartender....she threw the bill and my money BACK on my table. I said are you kidding me right now? Needless to say, she got NOTHING for a tip and I told the manager on duty....who was horrified that her employee did that to me. I said, I couldn't either! Artery Clogger burger, our favorite. Peanut butter, egg, cheese and bacon. They have a great hand pattied burger, only thing I don't understand is the ho-hum bun. Always a great place to go! Ate here last night, Saturday at 6:00 pm, they told us it would be 20 minutes for a seat. We were seated in 10 minutes. Prompt service even though it was packed. We ordered our meals and shortly after our waitress informed us the kitchen is a little behind and it could take up to 30 minutes for our food. It took less than 20 minutes. Our meals came out separately but only by a few minutes. I think the kitchen thought the delicious Chislic my wife ordered was for an appetizer. No biggie, waitress apologized for the problem without any mention from us. I had the Clucking Chicken! Delicious! This review may look a little bad but the point I make is they acknowledged and more importantly recognized shortcomings! As a rule The Attic is a great place to go bat side or restaurant side! GREAT place for dinner... OK place for drinking. The food is fantastic. Some of the best spinach artichoke dip in town, and the Cuban is one of the best sandwiches in town. The Midwestern chicken penne is freaking sweet as well. Booze is a little pricey here, so even though its not far from my house, I'll always venture downtown to drink rather than head here. Also had some issues with wait staff being a bit slow and inattentive here as well. read more

I've been to the Attic before and the food was ok, but tonight I have to say that I have never had a worse tasting burger. I had the Popeye burger, which consists of spinach dip and jalapenos. The jalapenos tasted like dirt and all I could taste of the spinach dip was the cream cheese. All this on top of the driest hamburger patty this side of the sahara desert. The bun was good though. I'll probably give them another shot someday but I definitely will NOT be ordering this burger again. read more

I used to go there on a regular basis and never had a bad experience. Last night I was there for the first time in awhile and I had the worse customer service experience ever. The waitress, Haley, waited on us but was very cold to me and the people I was with. I was ordering food and she treated me as if I was a 5 year old with her tone of voice. She then only checked on us a few times and seemed upset that we were there. When we were ready to leave, we had to ask another waitress to get our bill. When we got our bill, she took another 5+ minutes to run our card and get it back. I can say that the Attic is no longer one of the top choices for me. read more

I've been to The Attic a couple of times now. The food is always great. I've had wings, chislic and nachos. Most of the time the service is okay considering how busy the place is. Last night, I had poor service from both the server and the manager. My food didn't come out with the rest of my group. After 10 minutes or so, we finally got up to ask the server where it was. Five more minutes to find out it had been given to someone else. Finally got my food only a few minutes after that, but no real apology, just shifting of blame to someone else. Then there was a mix up with our bills, and another shifting of blame to others. In all the mix up mess, I asked to speak to a manager but we were already running late, so we had to leave before she came out. I ended up forgetting my debit card there, I realized it about 45 minutes after leaving. Called and the guy on the phone said no debit card had been left. I asked him to double check, told him where I was sitting, he did check with someone but said one hadn't been left. I go back a little while later and ask a lady behind the bar if one had been left. She goes and looks and it's there. The lady turned out to be the manager. I told her about the rest of the night. Her response was that I should have asked to speak to a manager when I was there earlier. I told her I had, but we had to get going and couldn't wait around any longer. She asked me what I would like her to do about it. I don't feel I should have to tell you how to do your job. You make things right and when someone has bad service you offer an apology, not excuses and you should do something to get them to come back to your establishment. read more
