Had requested service to clean out crawl space and install vapor barrier. - Paper contract was never given, or signed on. - Work was adequate, just did what was specified which is ok. I will have to monitor if there are issues later. - Left some damages to the work staging area in the front of the house; busted plants, irrigation system leaks. I was not notified of anything and found an unwelcome surprise after they completed. This is common in the trades, and would not be concern if they informed me. However, efforts were made to hide some damages which really breaks my trust in them. - Decontamination substance they used was either too strong or over-applied. There are a ton of aggravating fumes inside and around the house causing headaches and dizziness. Can't say I have any confidence left for a recommendation. read more

Update - the estimator texted me (I didn't think I had his number as he didn't give me a card) and asked why I gave him a bad review. I said I never got his quote and the issues listed below in my review vs other vendors. He said he sent the quote right after he left, however, the lack of the quote ended up being a typo in my email, which was just a mistake. He immediately sent me the quote. I said I would review the quote and adjust my review accordingly. The quote did have the options separated so I could choose which I wanted and they did indeed quote the walls (at the very end of the quote). The quote cleared up some of my concerns, and he should have left it at that, and I might have bumped up his review more, however, he continued to complain via text and sent me many many messages before I could even review the quote. I asked him to stop several times. I said he should respond to my review on Yelp, or have his boss contact me, but to please stop texting me. I finally blocked his messages as I found it disconcerting. --original review-- I was looking to insulate older outside walls to two bedrooms, which were never remodeled, and I could measure the wall and air next to it as very cold in the winter. Attic Pros responded to my inquiry quickly and came out to have a look. Their estimator came over and barely looked at the walls, then said let me check the attic and subfloor. He said he would do an estimate with me live, and for the next hour told me insulating walls wouldn't help, (even though two other insulation vendors said it would and provided quotes) and what I needed was to have all of my attic installation replaced and the subfloor insulated and sealed for the best results. He found some droppings but I said I replaced the roof and they sealed off areas that were found then, but this all seemed like a sales pitch, to get maximum dollars out of me, and their quote for all the services was very high for all the services was thousands of dollars (over $10K for everything he said we should do). In the end, he didn't even quote the wall insulation but said he would in an email..he was just too focused on driving the high-dollar projects he wanted to sell. The worst thing is he never even mailed me the quote, just left me blank paper chicken scratches with $1000's of dollar pricing for different things. So he wasted my time, tried to sell me stuff I didn't ask for, and didn't even price what I wanted. Also, He didn't even use a thermal camera or anything to tell if the insulation was any good (other vendors did, and said there was not much heat loss from the attic, but some batts were flipped up and just needed to be flipped down), he spent about 1 min in the attic with a few pictures and 1 min in the crawl space. Other vendors who used a thermal camera for heat loss said the insulation in the attic was adequate and just needed to be cleaned up, flattened down as some of the batts were flipped up and the walls could be insulated with blown-in insulation easily and provided a reasonable quote (sub $2k for this and flatting attic insulation) read more

I thought I might have a critter in the attic pushing the insulation through the vent fan above the toilet. I had one guy at a different company tell me, yes, you have a rat. The job was to replace insulation, sanitize, rodent proof, and install a vapor barrier. Vapor barrier was installed incorrectly the first time and so a new crew (Osman ayala , Jose olguin, Luis Lopez, Carlos jam) was sent to fix the barrier, rodent proof, and replace air ducts. This crew was very patient with me as I tried to decide on which sealing method I wanted to go with. They were friendly and attentive to detail and did a good job. I needed to get my crawlspace covered with a moisture barrier and had a few estimators come out to give me pricing. Jeremy and his crew including Jorge ended up giving me an unbeatable price and added features like a 20 mil material. When I compared the 20 mil to other 10 mil samples, it's a world of difference so I recommend the thicker material. And it's white so it'll be easier to see down there and won't hide dirt as well, which is what I was looking for. They used powder actuated nails for the concrete perimeter and screws for anything wood, including the cripple wall. In places where the posts were sealed a special tape was used to make a good seal. While they were working I actually put in a tyvek suit, respirator, goggles, and knee pads and took a peek under there and saw the guys all crawling around doing their work. It looked really good when I saw the work for myself. As a final touch, they sealed a large hole in the cripple wall where rats could pass through. It was sealed with a spray foam and metal mesh that was attached to the wood surrounding the whole. Finally, they set up rat traps and said they'd come back in 2 weeks to verify that any rodents that could get in were trapped, but hopefully everything is sealed up and it's all secure from rodents and moisture. read more
