The workers for AttiCity are not employees of the company but subcontract workers. David hires them for each job. Their schedule could vary since they apparently are working for other companies in addition to AttiCity. The workers' large truck to transport equipment and insulation is older and not professional looking but is functional. My requirement was to remove blown insulation from the attic and old batt insulation from under the floor by entering a tight crawlspace access. Rodent droppings were in both locations. A termite inspection occurred after I was informed by David the insulation in the crawlspace was removed. The termite inspector informed me that old batt insulation was still in place in a corner of the house that was challenging to access due to A/C ducting impeding access. If the termite inspection was not performed I may have never known the old batt insulation was not removed and new insulation was installed. The remaining old insulation was removed and new insulation installed. David was not on the job site when the work was completed. He did visit when it was time for payment. The rat droppings from the attic and crawlspace were cleaned up and supposedly all access by rats was addressed to alleviate a future problem. However, rats did access the house again and droppings were in the attic. I made 3 requests to David to have his crew return to vacuum the rat droppings in the attic and he told me this would occur but never did. The crew are independent workers and thus not captive to AttiCity. I assumed the time and expense of returning was their responsibility and not AttiCity and is why they never showed up. This year, I removed all the deck from the backyard and found couple of holes to crawl space that needed fixing. I called David and he promptly honored the warranty by sending one of his team member to fix it. Alas, the rats are too smart that between the time I removed the deck and Atticity sealing the holes, there were rats under the crawl space. After the sealing, couple of rats under the crawl space could not find a way to get out, and they were dead in a matter of days. Once again, the dead odor was everywhere in the house. I called David again, and realizing how bad the odor could be, he sent a person to check and clean the crawl space. They found couple of dead rats, and removed them, checked the entire ducts/insulation and sanitized the place. David refused to accept any payment for the work, stating that we are covered warranty. read more

David from AttiCity is very reasonable in price. I have used AttiCity for replacing existing insulation. Separately for installing radiation barrier. For both jobs, guys were thorough, clean. For radiation barrier they had to come back the next day as they ran out of material. Only complaint is the old insulation could not be picked up on the same day; was sitting in my front yard for few days. They did communicate that with me. Otherwise did a good job on both occasions for a reasonable price. For attic insulation and rodent proofing, Atticity gives 3-year warranty. Everyone else were quoting a lot higher with no justification. No reason to believe quality of work is compromised in anyway. read more

This review is based on AttiCity customer service. They did an awesome job in the beginning. They cleaned my attic and they gave me a 5 year warranty. Unfortunately, they were not able to rodent proof my house. They came out 3 or 4 times to try and fix the problem, but were unsuccessful. I called him and sent new pictures of rats I am still catching and he does not return my calls. The new insulation he installed is now smelling terrible and needs to be replaced again. He gave me a 5 year warranty but does not honor it. It is not worth the paper it is written on. I had to pay a general contractor to inspect my attic. He found obvious holes that were easy to fix. The worst part was that they fount a vent hose not connected to the vent allowing rats to enter. The worst part is after paying $2800 my attic smells bad. read more

I needed to get rid of a rat in my attic and chose them to do extermination and cleaning. David was fast to come and do the initial assessment and scheduling. His team came on time and started the work right away. They were careful to put proper protection on their work area, but still there was minor damage to the walls and ceiling. His team did repair most of it. But there was a room with different paint color that I will have to buy and repair myself later. They never found the rat, but they sealed all the gaps. Positives : These guys showed up on time, did what they said they would do - ,worked very hard, and all at a fair price. They are also were surprisingly clean and neat, and taped everything off to protect furniture and flooring - or in addition to what I did. For my project - I had them remove all the old insulation in attic and then replace w/ R38 insulation batts. They also installed R19 insulation w/ a vapor barrier in the crawl space at my house in Pacifica. Not an easy or trivial job - but they got it done. Working w/ estimates and/or quotes w/ David (foreman/owner) is easy via text or phone, and he came out to inspect the final work himself, after I had already approved it. Nice touch. Negatives : Their work truck had a bunch of crazy looking graffiti sprayed all over it .. but hey, it's an insulation truck - who cares ? Not me. Okay, buckle up, fellow Yelpers. This will take a while. And to be clear, I hate to be the guy that leaves a One Star review (and one this verbose) but read along and you will understand why. My experience started off like many of the 5 star reviews on this page. I received a personal recommendation/referral with reports that the guys at Attic City were amazing. I called David after hours on a Friday night. He happily answered and set up an appointment at my home the next afternoon (Saturday). He was professional, concise, and offered a very fair quote. I was beyond excited to rid my attic of rodents and the 50 year old "blow-in" insulation. Four days later, a crew of two showed up to start my job. I came home for lunch and, to my amazement, an insulation bomb had been detonated in my freshly landscaped front yard (see photo). The vacuum bag was overfilled and exploded. EVERYWHERE. It was even on my roof and gutters. The hosing on the vacuum was old and had duct tape over the holes. It became very clear, very quickly that I was no longer dealing with professionals. At the end of day one, they were way behind schedule to finish in two days so I requested that David provide the crew with a third worker. He did oblige and the job was finished the next afternoon or so I thought. In addition to the exploded vacuum bag fiasco the day before, I found several damages to my internal ceiling (see photos). What's more, the guys even left a trash bag tied to the curtain rod they bent and left a giant bag of trash in the attic (again, see photos). Upon my review, I called David to complain. Throughout the process, David was kind and seemingly apologetic. However, no amount of lip service can undo the ineptness of a this work crew. He offered to provide me with a "handyman" to fix the damages but I firmly declined. I could not in good conscience ask these guys to "fix" anything else. An additional disappointment was my call to the "Manager". I explained to him all the deficits in the job performed. He said he knew nothing about the job at my house. He said he would call me back after gathering more information. I'll let you guess as to whether I ever got a call back... The kicker in all of this? One month later, I STILL HAVE RATS IN MY ATTIC! I took it upon myself to inspect the roof line. The included photo shows were these guys relied on spray foam (instead of wire mesh) and the rats easily chewed through their way back into my freshly insulation-exchanged attic. To say I'm frustrated with their work would be a gross understatement. If you've read this far, I suppose you have to ask yourself: "How in the World did they do such a bad job for this guy and such a great job for everyone else? They have 5 Stars?!" You and I are in the same confused boat, my friends. In my assessment, there are a few reasons these guys are up to 40% cheaper than the competition: 1) They use old equipment 2) Their work crews are unskilled or, at least, careless 3) There is no evidence of internal quality control measures 4) Their "management" is either uninformed or irresponsible Please proceed with caution if you use Attic City for your rodent or insulation exchange needs. read more

Terrible customer service. They have been back to our home after the initial, paid visit to resolve the roof rat issue. Initially, they cleaned up the mess from the rodents and removed all of the soiled insulation. I thought the issue was resolved. About a few months after, I begin to hear noises in the attic again. I called them (David) back out to resolve the issue. When David sent someone out to fix the issue, the did not have the most important tool/equipment to fix the problem that had returned. A LADDER!!! Roof RATS! At this point I am completely dissatisfied and regretted and continue to regret the decision I made with hiring these people. The fix: Wire mesh (1/4" squares), hacked into my roof where they "thought" the rats were getting in. After the 1st repair visit, they noises came back. I AM NOT HAPPY! I called David again. He was very rude and sounded as if he were getting impatient with me for calling him for the shoddy work that he/his guys had done. I scheduled for him to come out again to fix the issue. He shows up again with no ladder and in a 4 door sedan. Apparently not ready to really investigate for himself where the issue/issues could be. He was at my home for the 2nd visit and told me he would call me to set ANOTHER appointment for when he would send his employees back to hack, I mean "fix" the issue. I have spoken to him twice and he has neglected to call me back to get someone out here. I have not heard from him since. USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO HAVE ROOF RATS, BE IGNORED, AND BE OUT OF $3,000. My next step is small claims court... :-) and a report to BBB!!!! read more

Excellent price. Very competitive. The owner is easy to work with. We had some rat/squirrel issues and needed them to sanitize the storage area above the garage and remove all the boxes. They were happy to help bring down all the boxes. They screened in all the openings so nothing could get back in. They also replaced the blown in attic insulation. We had one minor issue where one of the vents in the furnace closet was covered partially with the insulation. It's on 7 months now and I called him up and they were here within a week and promptly addressed the situation. I recommended these guys to my next door neighbor and after she got some other estimates Attic City was still the most competitive and offered the best solution to her problems. Update: 12/24/2017. My neighbors were happy with the job they performed but their post job support has been non existent. They called several times to have them come out and change/check the traps they set in the attic but they have not received any support. No callbacks. Nothing. Now, I feel responsible for recommending this company. Update: 12/26/2017 My neighbors informed me that AtticCity stopped by and reset the traps and stated they would come back in two weeks to check but they have not yet contacted them to make an appointment. He apologized for any mixup and said he and his crew were doing a job close by and will stop by in the afternoon to check. True to his word, he and one of his guys showed up, here are the results: - patched/fixed a hole with mesh/foam (was likely missed the first time) - inspected the traps (found no dead rats) - reset the traps with fresh bait - cleaned the few droppings that were there - inspected the eaves on the roof for any signs of openings - installed additional mesh/foam around eaves He said to call him again if the rats come back, and he'll be out again. While it took me writing a two-star review to get results, I'm glad that he followed up. It was the right thing to do! Thanks, David. Original Review: We decided to use this company because it had pretty decent reviews and David seemed like a good guy. He was personable and easy to talk with during our initial discussions. The actual workmanship was good, but the end result was not to our expectations. Within a few weeks after the job we could hear rodents in our attic (our cats alerted us), so we called David and he sent a guy out and he found fresh droppings in the attic. He laid traps, and patched up a few holes and said he would return to check on them in a couple of weeks. We didn't hear back after a few weeks so I called David and he told me: "Trust me, I've been doing this a long time, give it some more time." Okay, a bit condescending and agitated, but whatever. It's been months since and we still haven't gotten a return call from them to check on the traps - We have no idea if there are dead rats caught in the traps desiccating and/or rotting in our attic! We paid over $3000, were promised a warranty, and just aren't happy with their follow-through. Their execution of service is not commensurate with the amount of money we paid. A simple: "I'm sorry, we'll send someone out to check your traps"; then actually have someone come would be our expectations for a 3K bill and part of a promised warranty. It is now June 2018 not even six months later after severalnphone conversations and sending out"his guys" David the owner has not shown up once to fix the problem of rats in my attic. I was promised a written guarantee and never received one. I called all the time to get them to come out , they may have come out but to no avail at all has my rat problem been resolved. Atticity kicks ass ! These guys not only answered the phone but David was there in 30 minutes looking at the attic space , I wanted 3 feet of blown in insulation removed so I could rewire the attic ! There was lots of nasty wood debris up there as well as old carpet padding and pieces of pipe etc. when they got done you could eat off the back side of the Sheetrock ceiling ! We decided to use this company for a roof rat problem because they were the middle bid. They did a decent job removing the insulation and cleaning the attic area. I'm disabled and can't access the attic myself so they took pictures and showed them to me. We are still hearing noises in the attic so called them and they have made two appointments to come back however haven't shown up for either. I suspect that one of the ducts that was replaced wasn't hooked up correctly because there's no heat in thatRepeated emails with no response. I'd be leary of this company because it seems once they have their money, they're done I've been asked/told to update my review, so here goes. The owner, David, did come to my house unannounced after I posted my last review and he was not very happy with me. Inferred that I was responsible for the lack of communication because I don't answer my phone, be mindful he calls on a private number. No caller ID when he calls and he never leaves a message. I guess that's the customer's responsibility as far as he's concerned. AttiCity did discover the leaking vent I was complaining of in my 1st review, big hole in it. I can't say for sure when that damage was done because I'm disabled and can't access my attic area. He made a point of telling me he wasn't charging me for that duct, insinuating he was giving us something for free. Isn't that what a guarantee is all about? They nailed some mesh to a gutter that now will leak and will probably have to be replaced I've emailed him a few times since then telling him we're still hearing noises from the attic but no response from him I judge companies by the work that they do but mostly by their customer service and as far as I'm concerned, this company doesn't hold water. I must say AttiCity delivered what they promised and the quote was significantly lower then their competitors.
