This review is overdue as I got my insulation done back in June. Anyway, Miquan (the project manager) was very responsive and his bid was very competitive with the other bids I got. One of Johnson's benefit is that they are Bayren contractor and I was able to get a 1500 dollar rebate. Just to note, not all insulation contractors are Bayren approved. They insulated my attic and walls in under a day. There was a slight mishap during the installation but Miquan got on it immediately and resolved the issue same day. I called this place to schedule an energy audit (I specified that over the phone) which was set for today between 9am-11am. I got a text at 11am saying that they were running behind schedule and that they'd see me "shortly". An ETA would have been helpful. Miquan showed up at 11:40, no apology whatsoever for being late, no friendly conversation made on the walk to the door. He comes in, asks no questions of me about our issue, knocks on two walls and says we don't have insulation and that's our issue. We do have insulation (I have tested it through the outlets). He was out the door within two minutes. Super duper disappointed and aggravated that I waited around for a late appointment and zero insights. When I called Miquan and expressed my disappointment, he said that an energy audit is charged and is different than what was scheduled. I would have happily paid but was never told that I wouldn't be getting an energy audit done in the first place. He offered a complimentary infrared camera inspection "the next time we're in the area". Go elsewhere, PLEASE. This place is a waste of time and doesn't know how to respect customers. read more

I generously give 2 stars, only because had I actually had the opportunity to hire the company, I imagine they probably would've done a good job. I was given a 2 hour window for an estimate - Miguan, the owner showed up a half hour past the window. Very informative & professional, once he showed up. Before he left, I confirmed he had my correct email address to be sure I received his estimate. After a few days of no estimate, I called the office to remind them. An operator transferred me to someone who assured me that I'd receive my estimate in the next few days. A week later, still no estimate so I repeated the phone call - same routine & story, and after 3 weeks, still no estimate. No biggie - in 1 weeks time, another company gave me a written estimate, provided references & scheduled an appointment & are currently in my driveway finishing the job. read more

I'm an independent inspector for various Bay Area rebate programs, inspecting hundreds of projects per year required for rebates. Johnson insulation has consistently stood out above the rest with their quality insulation installations. Very pleased to say that 100 percent of their projects have exceeded BPI quality requirement.
