So grateful for the kindness and care shown to Bailey. They were gentle, patient, and treated her like their own. We truly appreciated being able to get a same-day appointment when she wasn't feeling well. Highly recommend!

DEFINITELY NOT GOING BACK..... Brought my dog for a check up... was told he has an ulcer so I got the meds needed and was charge for the visit/exam and meds... great thank you... but came back for the second visit/check up and this time a different doctor did the check up and was charged as if it was the first time visiting smh Could have just sent a picture of the ulcer and was told the same thing.... DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO COME BACK!!!!

Being new to the area we didn't know where to bring our furry family For care. My Buddy for the past 17+ years was falling ill to old age and was time to say goodbye. So glad we found this Veterinary Clinic. The entire staff and Doctor handled our situation saying good bye with dignity and kindness. Thank You and God Bless all of you making a tough situation very comfortable. I miss my Little buddy Kingston.

Our pet's original vet closed, and our older Husky Malamute suddenly got sick. Atwater Veterinary Center was the only clinic in the area that was able to schedule us immediately. Unfortunately, our fur baby had developed a tumor in her bladder that was not operable. They were compassionate and understanding. Gave us several scenarios and options to help us make a decision during a difficult time. Sadly, we had to euthanize our baby. They were amazing through the whole ordeal. The staff here is fabulous. Thank you all so much for making our baby's transition over the Rainbow Bridge painless and comfortable.

I really wanted a female Maltipoo so I did my research and found Friendly Acre Farms with mostly…read morepositive results. I could have bought one here in town from a private party for $500 but I thought paying more for a caring, knowledgeable Breeder was the safer way to go. After a few confusing phone calls with Sarah, I made the 120 mile drive to pick up my 11 week old (f) Maltipoo. Prior to picking her up, Sarah's stories kept changing slightly but nothing of major concern. She had been very busy with her church that week and maybe forgot what she had last told me. Keep in mind I don't know much about the business of Breeding. I have been a small dog owner for many years but that's it. I'm a little bit relying on Sarah's expertise. I arrived at Friendly Acre Farms and Sarah came out with my puppy. We talked for 5 minutes or so, I quickly signed some papers, she gave us some dog food and that was it. I just assumed if I needed anything more she would be available on Instagram, DM, or phone. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday my vet was able to see her within 2 weeks. I put her on the Puppy Health Plan, she weighed in at 2.9 lb and looked great. I shared the vaccine record Sarah gave me that only had 3 vaccine stickers on it and no signatures. Sarah had verbally informed me she had all her Parvo shots and should be safe in 10 days after the last shot. Luckily the vet was able to correct that statement. She won't be safe from contracting Parvo for another 4-6 week, once the vet administers her vaccines. I got the impression the vet can't rely on the stickers on her shot record since the shot record was not signed by a vet. Also DOB was incorrect and I had to DM Sarah for that. No other info was completed by Sarah's vet so I'm assuming Sarah never had her seen by a vet?? I don't really know. She verbally told me the mother was 8-10 lb and Father was 5 lb. That's all I received from Sarah for $2,500. That part is all ok really because I let it all happen. I should have known to ask more questions. My vet spoke with me about the dog food Sarah had her on. She said there is a concern by the FDA that grain free food is causing heart problems in young dogs so she asked me to wean her off. I sent a DM to Sarah as heads up since this FDA investigation is fairly new (2023) and she may not be aware. Sarah had not heard about it and was defensive as if I was accusing her of something but I finally got her to understand I was simply sharing information with her. Nothing else. One week later I took my puppy back for a second vet visit. This time she received Shots, DNA/ genetic analysis and fecal exam. One week later my vet called to inform me her lab results indicate she has Giardia, a parasite found in drinking water and dirty kennels. Medication was ordered and hopefully she can clear the parasite from her tiny body. So far she is asymptomatic. My first thought was why didn't Sarah mention this? I would have told my vet immediately had I known. So I sent a DM to Sarah and she said Yes, she knew my puppy had Giardia and she had treated her for it. She said all her dogs are treated for this and other parasites. I asked did you retest to see if it cleared? No answer to that specific question. Sarah started quoting the papers I signed when I picked her up. My concern was the lack of honesty, her concern was that she wasn't responsible. Honesty wasn't listed in her paperwork. Why didn't she tell me this? Was I supposed to know? Then she tells me I can bring my dog back?????? WHAT??? She finally apologized and said she forgot to inform me. Anyway after a few more DM of her pointing the finger at me, I ended with, I just want the truth about my puppy because now I don't know what else my dog may have. I told her I thought she was a bad breeder. I was mad. She blocked me from her Instagram. How silly is that. The moral to this story is listen to your intuition. I knew something wasn't right from the beginning. At the end of the day, my family and I love our new puppy, in sickness and health. For her sake I hope she remains healthy.

I approached searching for a kitty as I would dating. I contacted numerous rescue volunteers and…read morelet them know my specific interests. The first of this was a kitty that would get along with our other kitties, but that's hard to know unless the cats meet. With how far away Merced is from the South Bay, that was impractical. So, I had to rely on descriptions of personalities. Over a period of three weeks, I perused shelter websites from all over the state. I made numerous inquiries and even visited some shelters and adoption events in person, but I just wasn't finding "the one". However, one kitty on Merced's shelter site stuck in my mind the whole time. Obviously driving two hours each way wasn't ideal, but I couldn't get this kitty out of my mind! It was only one picture and he looked so special. During this three weeks, I phoned the shelter so many times that I probably spoke to every employee! I had questions about this kitty's availability, personality, ability to get along with people, with other cats, length of time in the facility, and health. The staff didn't know much about individual cats because it's a high-kill shelter and they simply aren't there alive long enough to get to know. In fact, if they enter the shelter unaltered, they don't even bother to alter them unless they're placed for adoption because they're more likely to be killed than adopted. Realize this, if you're squeamish about death (and what animal lover who wants to save them isn't?), this is an inescapable fact when dealing with a high-kill shelter. So, the standard explanation given was that the kitty was there for three weeks, meaning he must have quite a special personality. They explained that most cats do not last three weeks there; they get four days (or fewer if they're severely overcrowded). So if this kitty was still alive, it's because the employees really liked him and wanted to keep him around. That meant, inevitably, that other cats would be put down first, so don't be too impressed that kitties get lots of time here -- most don't make it out at all. I wasn't getting enough information to make a decision, so I kept calling in the hopes that I could find an employee who DID know more about his personality. It was critical that this kitty be highly social and tolerant of other cats. So, they put me in touch with the director herself. She was wonderfully helpful, taking him out of his cage and observing him in a room with other cats. She reported back that he was very social and friendly. The only requirement she had of me as an adopter was that I own my own home. (I don't know if that's a requirement across the board, but at that time, most of their strays were pets that people had abandoned when they vacated their rentals, so she felt better about adopting to homeowners.) I explained that I lived two hours away and we couldn't make it out until a weekend (they're open on Saturdays and that's when most of their out-of-town adopters show up), so they advised me to pay over the phone, ahead of time, to ensure he'd still be alive by Saturday. The money went for his neutering. The vet only worked on certain days and they can't legally adopt out an unsterilized cat or dog. So, that's what I did; paid with a credit card ($15). The really crummy thing (hence only four stars) was that depending on who I talked to each time I called, some employees said my kitty could STILL be put down by the time I arrived on Saturday, even though I had paid! They said it was so overcrowded that they couldn't guarantee he'd be alive within a couple days. That was horrifying. Another call clarified with the director that it was NOT the case; once you pay, the animal's safe. My partner and I arrived as planned, walked up to the window and handed over our kitty's cage #, and asked if we could go visit with a bright orange and white kitty who was meowing at us from the socialization room. They said sure! This kitty stole our hearts right away! Our sweet kitty whom we'd already adopted turned out to be as sweet as we'd been told he was. So, we ended up leaving with both of them! We'd only brought one carrier, so they provided an extra. I could tell the staff truly loved the cats. The other kitty was already neutered, so it was just $15 adoption fee. The state pays shelters more than that to kill each animal, so they technically lost money adopting them out vs. killing them. We also received starter goody bags and they applied flea control. The staff were incredibly warm and nice. They thanked us for saving these lives. Because we "ordered" ahead of time, we were spared walking past a bazillion cages to pick out an animal (don't want to do that because we'll want all of them and we can't take all of them) and we didn't have to smell a death room (the scariest part of going to kill shelters). Overall a fantastic experience! Five years later, our Merced kitties fill our lives with love! I wouldn't hesitate to adopt from here again.

Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my mother's dog received at this clinic…read more We brought her in because she was actively vomiting, suffering from diarrhea, and unable to keep down food or water. Despite being fully aware of her condition, the clinic sent her home with oral medications that she was unable to keep down. No IV fluids were provided, and her condition worsened significantly the following day, forcing us to seek care elsewhere. To make matters worse, we later learned that the dosage of medication she was sent home with appeared inappropriate for her small size. As pet owners, we trusted that the medications and dosages being prescribed were safe and appropriate. Learning that there were concerns about the dosage only added to our worry and frustration. What is most frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. We were under the impression that certain treatments had been provided, only to later discover discrepancies in what was actually administered. We have also been told after the fact that hospitalization was recommended, but that was never clearly communicated to my mother during the visit. Had she been properly informed that her dog's condition was serious enough to require hospitalization, she would have taken immediate action. When we sought a second opinion, we were advised that injectable anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, and supportive care should have been considered given the symptoms our dog was experiencing. Instead, she was sent home with oral medication despite being unable to keep anything down. We attempted to resolve our concerns directly and professionally with the clinic before sharing our experience publicly. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging our concerns, our request for a refund was denied. Pet owners trust veterinary clinics during some of the most stressful moments imaginable. We expected compassionate care, clear communication, and appropriate treatment. Instead, we were left with a much sicker dog, significant emotional distress, and additional veterinary expenses to address issues that we believe should have been handled appropriately from the beginning. I encourage anyone considering this clinic to ask detailed questions, request copies of all treatment records, and carefully review the care plan and medications being recommended for their pet.

Since my first amazing experience here ... my senior baby Reptar of 12 years passed away 4/24/26 …read more I wasn't going to share my ending experience but out of love and respect for my sweet boy , I'm going to tell it . The mass ended up being mast cell tumor and the cancer had spread giving me weeks left with him . After his first removal 2/26 , the aftercare seemed like they cared , hence the 5 star review . They called after to check up on him , would answer my calls to any questions I had about his healing and such .. healing was going well . Then he got another big mass shortly after close to where the previous surgery was . We scheduled another removal . The 2nd removal and healing process was HORRIBLE . Engraved in my mind and truly traumatized forever .. and then the after care and treatment we both got from the staff , "supervisor" and vet assistants was beyond heartless . He was prescribed carprofen for his pain meds after surgery even though I asked for rimadyl since he's always taken that for pain . the carprofen had lamb flavor in it causing him to have outbreaks and suffering on top of the cancer attacking his body making his time left here more miserable . I couldn't figure out why or if it was the cancer ?? until I found out there was lamb in the pain pill and he's allergic to lamb .. I didn't know it had flavoring nor was I asked anything about allergies to things like that . I thought they were just normal pain pills being prescribed , I'd break half and put it in mashed potatoes or something soft and he'd just swallow it , he doesn't chew medicine ... so that upset me because he suffered for a while until I stopped giving him the pills and he immediately changed behavior and started acting back to normal and all the reactions settled . He was gushing blood and puss out of his new and old incision even though the old one basically healed , it was infected and forcing its way out reopening the healed scar . I called the office scared asking for advice and some antibiotics and Sam the receptionist really really really made this harder on me than it already was . Her attitude , the lack of empathy and respect she continuously showed throughout our interactions over the phone , lack of urgency when I needed to pass on important messages to Dr.Singh , she would refuse and try to give me her own advice FIRST until I was adamant I wanted it passed on ... I spoke to the office supervisor Shay about her actions because how are you the face of the vet/answering phones and have an attitude like that towards GRIEVING patients whose dog is currently dying ?! Ridiculous . Spoke to an employee named Zaire a couple times in replacement of Sam that were unpleasant as well , both need to be retrained in customer service and BOTH lacked respect and empathy ! It got to a point where he was constantly throwing up and I was researching that they can prescribe nausea pills or give a shot for relief , that option was being denied to me because they wanted me to come back in for another transaction "to see if he really needed them" instead of just prescribing my dying dog the pills at Costco for some relief in his final days ... Dr.Singh wasn't in the office for that request so Dr.Berrar according to what the staff told me , that he wouldn't give me anything until I came back in the office even though we were just there the day before and them all seeing the condition he was in . Shay did eventually offer for me to come in for a shot for 1 day relief FOR NOW but I was already so mentally drained after all the fighting , I got him help elsewhere for that . Dr. Singh told me personally in our visit if I needed anything medication wise to send in the request and he'd get on it and I was constantly being shut down while I'm trying to be an advocate and be strong for my dog while my heart was breaking from losing him .. so so discouraging on top of losing my best friend right in front of my eyes . After he passed away , I had so much hurt and anger towards the recent actions of this vet , I HAD to tell Shay EVERYTHING that happened , bawling my eyes out on the phone and eventually letting her know that he had passed away . $5000 later and my dog isn't here anymore , not once did the staff or Dr. Singh reach out with a call , send a card of condolences or anything . This felt very transactional and not genuine AT ALL . My poor baby suffered soooo much his last days and I was doing my ALL to fight for him and get him the help he needed , just for it all to be too late . All I have left to say is .... I hope the staff I dealt with never have such a deep attachment to someone special or an animal the way I did and be treated how I was while I was going and AM going through this HELL time , instead of being comforted and supported . Reptar deserved way more respect and love than what he got from this office , he was nothing but loving to them and a senior boy in his last days . My heart is beyond shattered . Gutted .
