The bathroom had a sliding door, no fan, shower had no door and the water pressure was so bad water just trickled out. We got one robe which had a missing belt loop. The container of shower gel was actually "hand wash". Oh and when I went to dry my hair with the appliance in the black bag in the bathroom drawer, it was actually a steamer & it took them almost an hour to bring me a hair dryer. We were definitely expecting more from this hotel. And then no amenities... no place to get breakfast or lunch on site, although there are places in walking distance. They have an urn of coffee in the morning but one day ran out of sugar (we asked, couldn't find more). For ice & water, you have to get it at the front desk or request delivery to your room. The on site restaurant was great for dinner.

When you check in with a dog you get a fun box of goodies for your pup (see photo). They had cookies and fresh fruit flavored water in the lobby, there they also have board games and a pool table. The pool was the biggest surprise... and that's a funny choice of words since the surprise is the tiny pool. But its really nice and warm. The rooms were really nice and i've never been told in advance what my room number was going to be. So when I looked at the app the day before and saw I was given a lower floor directly above Star Bar, i used the app to see what other rooms were available and moved to a higher floor with a better view. The 3rd floor had a small outdoor dog relief area which has poop bags for free. I liked all the options of the TV, though I barely watched it and mostly used it to play music in the room while I had friends over. The bar and restaurant are pretty good and I reviewed them separately as Verbena Food & Drink. You do not get any type of breakfast included with the room, but the restaurant had a great but expensive menu. I was disappointed by how few late night food options I found in the West 6th neighborhood and zero markets that I could find when I was wanting to get some beer for the room. There are plenty a few minutes away by car but I didn't want to deal with valet or high prices at the front desk for drinks. There's one offering I didn't have the time to take them up on, but in the future I would if I was here on a business trip and that is that they provide dual screen monitors for your desk if you request it. That would make a long stay great for working from the room.

The rooms are comfortable and the decorations very elegant. There are 15 rooms and we've stayed in several. There are three floors and a rooftop. Each floor had a bougie coffee machine, along with sparkling water for guests. Vickie is a great host and we love visiting with her every time we stay. You must stay here but don't get carried away; we still need to get our reservations!

These machines are quite expensive and produce very nice drinks mere steps from the door of your room. For dining, though, check out nearby Paperboy (prepare for a wait during busy hours). The hotel will soon open its new restaurant, and we can't wait to try it out. The rooms are definitely unique, with each one featuring something a little different. The beds are all comfortable, and remodeled bathrooms are spacious and, wait for it, modern, with ample shower space and lovely large, enveloping tubs (availability may vary from room to room, check before booking). Numerous places to eat, drink, and be merry are within crazy short walking distance, and in fact, if the famous Franklin Barbecue is on your list, this is a great place to stay and get up early to walk over and get in line. Definitely try this place if you want to have a great experience and keep some of the old "Weird Austin" spirit alive; it's dwindling, but still there.

I was upgraded prior to arrival based on my status as I basically live in Marriotts. Room is bright, quirky and modern - designed to be very minimalist with hangers and pegs on the wall instead of a closet and two small closets - one with a toilet and one with a very compact shower that reminds me why I would never want to vacation on a cruise ship! There is no bathroom just separate compartments for each with a sink in the hallway! You can pull a large shower type curtain across that part of the room for privacy. Room was quiet and very dark which I love! In keeping with the minimalist theme - there is no fridge or coffee machine in the room! You can however get free coffee downstairs and there is a grab and go fridge with snacks and drinks in the lobby. There is also a taco place in the lobby that I previously reviewed and won't return to! All was great except in the 8am hour the cleaners arrived and had loud conversations in the hallway- of course on the one day I did not have a super early start - then knocked for room service twice before I left - at 8:50am!!! I mentioned it to the front desk and the lady that was there apologized but a young guy told me that it could not have been the cleaners as they had been in a meeting and he disagreed with my discussion until two other ladies also from my floor told him the cleaners were definitely there!! My car was packed as I was moving so it was important to me to book a hotel that had parking. We're both from out of state and there was a football game going on (that we weren't aware of), so it was crazy busy and the parking was a mess. I know the game has nothing to do with the hotel, however, I would imagine the hotel would have been able to anticipate the occupancy and the parking spots available. I'm not sure if they were allowing non-guests to pay and park here. We waited on the street in the car, like everyone else, for almost an hour. The valet took the car behind us before me and the car in front of us, then told us it was full. The hotel's suggestion was to look for street parking - which was impossible as everyone was there for the game, or park in the structure a block away, which said we needed a university pass to park in, so couldn't. Eventually, we asked if we could just park in the valet loading zone since the hotel parking was full and that would probably be utilized later anyway, and they let us do that. We checked in, and when we got to our room, the trash can was IN the toilet.. I'm not sure what that was even about. The room itself was fine. Moxy's usually don't have fridges, microwaves, or closets, which I am aware of. It was clean other than the trash in the toilet. Our room was also on the first floor, with the street and sidewalk out the window so we couldn't open the shades. It was also very loud. They do have a white noise machine next to the bed, so I appreciated that. The common area has a good amount of seating. There's the bar area and tables to the left with a TV. The right has a little lounge area, and they have an outside with swings and a fire pit. The staff were also very nice, which gives this place a star. Overall, while I love Moxy hotels, I will never stay at this one again. I always have a great experience with this brand, but this one wasn't it. It wasn't terrible, it's cute, the bed was clean, but it was significantly different from other hotels of this brand. It was 80,000 Marriott points to stay here (I don't remember the normal price $300-400/night) and it was not worth it. I also paid $59 for parking, which, I saw my car's location and they parked it a couple blocks away - not great when my car is filled with my moving stuff. I thought we'd get a discount on parking or something but did not.

Speaking to me while her head was down and making gestures as if I was a staff member. After giving them another shot for an additional stay, housekeeping staff were positioned outside my room around checkout time, holding conversations within earshot, which created the impression they were waiting for me to exit at exactly 4:00 p.m. Afterward, I spoke with other frequent guests who shared similar experiences and described a pattern of poor customer service, lack of hospitality, and unprofessional behavior associated with this individual. I have since contacted the General Manager regarding this matter and am currently awaiting a response.

We got a 1 bedroom with a den that had a queen bed. Although the den did not have an actual door or privacy, what we got in amenities made up for it. There was a weird incident where we walked in on 2 employees who appeared to be engaged in gratuitous acts moments before we attempted to open the door. Although, maybe we were mistaken...we all just got an odd vibe from the two employees (one behind a closed bedroom door we found after talking with the first employee for over 5 minutes) and the other changing the password on the lock (from the inside of the room?--/he had to exit to do this after we entered the room). We had requested an early check in, so it was weird to find anyone hanging out there, playing "peek-a-boo" with grown guests at the initial check in. But the final total for a 4 night stay amounted to $1741.90...and considering the location...the amenities...the layout of the room...it was worth it! Just a warning: while the rooms are equipped with full kitchens, there aren't basic items like salt, oil, cutting boards (although one was brought to us after a text) to do any substantial cooking. But, who doesn't love a room where you can actually wash laundry BEFORE heading home?

Originally I booked through an online travel site and minutes after I received a text from the Guild. After chatting with an agent they informed me that by booking direct I could get a deal and I canceled my original booking and booked directly through them with a savings around $250. I had a few questions prior to arriving and every time I texted an agent I received an answer almost immediately. This type of communication continued throughout our stay. The accommodations were pristine. I am extremely picky and honestly was nervous about staying here as it isn't our typical type of accommodations when we travel, but I could not have been happier. The apartment was huge. It was spotless and everything looked brand new. While we didn't cook there, the kitchen was fully stocked with what you would need to make a meal. There was a French press! There were extras like coffee, hot sauce, tampons; they thought of everything you might not have thought of. We spent hours listening to the eclectic record collection thy provided, so fun! Also, the neighborhood was super cool. We ate from some crazy good food trucks (rolling smoke, bomb tacos), checked out an awesome dive bar (the white horse) and found it completely walkable to the downtown area. My only regret is there aren't guilds outside of Texas! Thanks for a great stay!
