Literally the best grits and top 5 best breakfast I've had. The bakery has some many delicious options I would absolutely come here again!

I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with spinach. It was so delicious. It came with grits, which were tasty alone side the biscuit. I really enjoyed my food. The service was fast and friendly. You could tell everyone worked together as a team. The ambiance was very pleasant and peaceful. I would recommend this gem over and over again.

Atwoods of Alexandria reminds me of so many bakeries in Louisiana (#1), these places are almost always popular within the community with an endless plethora of sweets with lots of other options in between. Whether it's an occasional treat, a special occasion, or simply lunch, Atwood's is always a great option. Locals are here for all sorts of reasons: morning coffee, freshly baked pastries (croissants are on point), sandwich for lunch, dessert anytime, and cake. The latter is a big one, especially during this time of year, i.e. Mardi Gras. Their regular king cake with cream cheese is most definitely a hit. I wouldn't hesitate to get a custom cake ordered here and I think their prices are still reasonable. They also have a number of small, personalized desserts, and also have a solid variety of gelato and cookies as well. I appreciate their attention to seasonal items. It's super cute on the outside, and despite not being overly spacious, has enough tables for small groups to enjoy a drink and a small dessert treat. Parking is plentiful, they accept credit cards, and they're a women-owned establishment. The times can get tricky since they close on Sundays and Mondays and are only open till 2pm for midweek. From Thursday-Saturday, they're open till 9:00pm. __________ (#1) A lot like Ambrosia (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-ambrosia-bakery-baton-rouge-2) in Baton Rouge or Amore (https://www.yelp.com/biz/amore-bakery-and-cafe-gretna) in NOLA.

I ordered the eggs Benedict which was fair. The service was slow, but good. The hash browns were a little soggy and very salty. The bakery good s looked great!

Local bakery/eatery here for decades. True community focused owners and an amazing variety of treats. Traditional bakery items and so much more. King cakes that are awesome as well. Breakfast, brunch and lunch to satisfy any cravings. Wonderful spot in CenLA.

I've King Cake many times, they were just ok. And then I tried this King Cake from Atwood's and I fell IN LOVE! It's one of the best desserts I have ever had, and I'm a Baker myself! Perfection in texture, flavor, appearance, everything! This cake was mailed to SC, y'all! I'll be ordering one every year now!

They offer weekend brunch now with a good menu. I've had the veggie omelette twice and it is well served each time. Loved the home made whole grain toast- yum- no keto here! They offer mimosas and Bellinis at brunch as well! Surprised that a bakery offered these. But very nice! Service is friendly and reasonable fast.

Pastries were editable, but over-priced. The service was good... really nice people.

Beautifully decorated treats that appear to be very appetizing. The problem is they don't live up to the expectations.

This is really disappointing because we love the food at Schlotzky's & this is the only location left in Louisiana. We just stopped here during July 4, 2026 weekend. The entire glass front door was cracked & looked like it would shatter if you touched it, but it was not covered for safety. They didn't have ANY tea made & the water out of the coke machine tasted horrible (in Shreveport, we have F grade water, but this was somehow infinitely worse), so I didn't even get a drink that we paid for. Both bathrooms are extremely dirty. My husband said there are never any paper towels in the men's room & the air dryer is rusted & too gross to use. And the water sprays out like crazy when you barely turn it on. He said it also stinks. The ladies room is also gross & the sink looks like it hasn't been cleaned in many years. The toilet seat doesn't fit on the toilet & slides around everywhere when you're not moving. The water barely comes out of the faucet, making it hard to wash your hands. (For at least a few years, the bathroom door locks didn't even work, but I guess they finally fixed that, at least.) We sat at the one table we could find that wasn't dirty. My husband also noticed some of the floor tiles are coming loose. My husband said his Original sandwich wasn't hot all the way through & his chips were stale. And they gave me the wrong dipping sauce with my calzone. We were weirded out by how dirty the restrooms & restaurant were, making us really concerned about how clean the kitchen & food could be when everything else is so dirty. So due to all of this, we will not be returning.

Ate inside the restaurant. Sandwich was great as was the service. But they need to do a major…read moreupgrade to their flooring. Floor tiles loose and several corners raised all over. A customer trip and fall is in their future. If I go back I'll get pictures.
