We were in town for my niece's graduation and stopped by for lunch on the way from the airport. We were able to park and keep an eye on our car full of luggage which was a plus. We came in the middle of a Friday and they were not busy. We were seated outside and it was a beautiful day. My husband ordered the waygu meatballs and I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich. We were both very happy with our meals and our service. The interior of the restaurant is adorable. If I lived in the area I would definitely be back. read more

drinks and food is super good and I've been here a few times. I brought my friends from out of town to show them one of my favorite places, and we were charged way too much for a drink. 85 for two double HOUSE margs seems a bit insane to me. For a house marg... but whatever. We tried to figure it out with the bartender but she brought the manager and they both decided we were in the wrong for ordering that. When it's only supposed to be 44 in total (didn't tell us it was 42 for a double marg..) Ava our server was absolutely amazing and was always checking in on our table (large group). she was so nice and even helping us try to figure out what went wrong with the drinks. anyway I do really like this place and I will continue to come back but I will not be ordering with the same brunette bartender that was upstairs. read more

Flamingo Deck is my favorite spot in San Diego. The food and cocktails are consistently amazing, and they always seem to have fun daily specials if you check their Instagram or website before heading over. One of the best-kept secrets is the upstairs area called The Nest. To get there, head through the restaurant and take the staircase in the back downstairs. The views are incredible with ocean views, beautiful sunsets, and when there are fireworks over the bay, you get an amazing vantage point to watch them. I'm personally obsessed with their pizzas, but honestly everything is great. Their pastas are top notch, chicken piccata, wagyu meatballs, whipped ricotta, and cheesecake. Weekend brunch is also delicious! They also offer mocktail options, which is a huge plus for anyone not drinking. Another thing I love is that it's family-friendly during appropriate hours, so it's a great spot whether you're meeting friends for drinks, bringing the kids for dinner, or enjoying a date night upstairs at sunset. Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, and one of the most underrated views in Pacific Beach. Highly recommend checking it out! Stopped in for a drink while traipsing about on a visit to SD and decided to grab some food as well. Holy moly this place surprised us with the quality and deliciousness of the food! Ordered a salad and 3 entrees between 4 of us. Small portions but surprisingly the perfect amount is food! 5/5 Mingo mango margarita was a small cup but perfectly mixed and flavorful with delicious hints of mango 5/5 Italian chopped - the salad was simple but delicious, loved the sliced salame. 5/5 Cacio e pepe - this was the star for me! Like an al dente truffle garlic butter pasta. I'd come back for this alone! 3.5/5 Campanelle sausage - friends loved it, added some salt and chili flakes but the cacio e pepe was the standout for me. 5/5 Short rib - small portion but the meat was fall apart tender. Generous on the mash potatoes underneath. The inside is super cute, gets pretty busy but the vibes are there. We'll be back, heard they have a good brunch to check out! read more

I want to hear a few weeks ago for my friend's birthday. It was a Saturday although it wasn't too busy which was perfect for us because our server, Brie was super tentative! We ordered a number of drinks, they're Paloma being one of my favorites since it has a splash of lychee gave it a unique twist. We also ordered the large Flamingo drink, although I think it's a little overrated, it tasted a bit strong and so much ice it's probably only equivalent to two drinks, but cost wise equivalent to four. Overall it was a good experience I definitely would go back here super cute spot for brunch with friends. read more

Stopped in for brunch on a Sunday and it surprisingly wasn't busy at all! Got seated pretty quickly, but service was just a bit slow. Strange considering there was no one there. But they made up for it with their French toast. Eggs Benny was good average haha, French toast was great and not too sweet! A little bit dry because it's so thick. Overall, not a bad place to drop in if other places in the neighborhood are busy! You get a bit of an ocean view at the rooftop but only in the corner (obsecured by other buildings and the street..but it's there!). read more

Overall, my group enjoyed our time at the Flamingo Deck! Expect loud music, dim lighting, and great vibes! We came early in the evening (~7 PM) to be able to eat dinner. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes! It being a bar, we weren't expecting much, but everything we tried on the menu was delicious-- especially the braised short rib, truffle fries, and the variety of pasta dishes they offer. Some pasta dishes came with bread, some did not, so some had to share their breads since it is not clarified which pasta dishes offered bread or did not. Drinks were honestly a hit or miss. We absolutely loved some drinks while others were watered down or just not great. We really enjoyed the Paloma, Coconut Mojito, and even the lychee mocktail was a hit. As the night went on, the bar got really full to where we were sitting with groups of people with their backs to the back of our chairs. It got very busy, we had to physically go find our waitress to get our credit card back as it had been 15 minutes since she had taken it. The wait staff though was so friendly and attentive before the bar got completely packed. We would come back here for the next Bachelorette trip as it was a young crowd, other bach parties were there, and overall a fun atmosphere for a night out! read more

I enjoyed the Flamingo Deck much more than I was expecting to! The reason I said that is because unusually shy away from the bars right in the thick of Pacific Beach, they tend to be crowded and full of an exuberant partying young crowd that I just tend to not gravitate towards anymore. We went right after they opened on a Friday at noon. At first, we were the only people there, by the end of the time there were a few other tables, but I was surprised that it was a mixed age crowd. We ordered a mix of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for the table and everybody enjoyed them. The place is beautiful, the decor is a lot of fun. We had Bree as our server and she was great. It was a group of my girlfriends from work for a little Galentine's celebration and we decided to go for a bunch of appetizers to share. The mushroom pizza is fabulous!!! Best pizza I have had in a long time. The crust is sourdough and they used Taleggio cheese and top it with some truffle oil. They got the crust just right, it was so crispy and delicious and it came out piping hot. The papas bravado were my second favorite thing on the table. They did a great job with those tasty little potatoes and that savory aïoli. The tuna stack was another stand out. It kind of was basic until I tried the little citrus oil that it came with, and that really made it pop. I really enjoyed the pear and burrata salad. The pears were grilled just right and it came with a delicious crispy bread and was piled high with arugula and prosciutto. Great job on that dish! We got a charcuterie board that was loaded with goodies, including one of my favorite cheese is the Humboldt Fog. It was not very well balanced though. It really needed something sweet in addition to the mustard to balance the flavors. Maybe like a fig jam or some honey. A couple of grapes or some dried fruit would've been good too. The calamari was the only thing that was not good. It was horrible. It was basically regretting with a tiny little bit of they squid in it. We are savages and we did not finish that dish or take it home. I would return to this establishment and I'm curious about the brunch. Went for a friends birthday! Parking is just always a thing in San Diego nowadays, but of course at the beach. We luckily found a parking in front. We were greeted right away and escorted to our groups table. We were imm offered drinks and placed our orders. Service was good and attentive. It was a vibe there. We visited on Memorial Day, and it wasn't busy at all. It's a great spot to start the night or hang out during the day. They have daybeds that look really fun for a relaxed afternoon, and we'd definitely come back to experience it at a different time of day. Service was fast and friendly. I was skeptical to try this place since it didn't have great reviews but I absolutely love it! The atmosphere and decor was lovely. The staff was super friendly and the food was great! I dined here with 9 other people during a Bachelorette party. We were required spend $400 as a whole party to make a reservation which is probably the only thing I didn't like about this place. I understand they want to make sure we spend money as a group but that was a turn off and we almost chose to go else where because of this. Despite that little limitation, I really enjoyed my experience. I ordered the French toast and it was so yummy! It was decadent in all the right ways while not being overly sweet. What a great themed restaurant. You will bathe in a pink glow the whole night as you dine but that's fine considering all the perks. Many seating options...highly tops on the patio, loungers inside, bench tables for groups and of course bar stools. The decor is so fun to peruse as you wait for your food. I was at the bar and was trying to leave a tip for the drink I paid for and they racially profiled me and kicked me out the bar for "fidgeting with their machine," without any warning. Oh such a cute place especially for bachelorette weekend! Plenty of photo spots for your Instagram feed. We made reservations (just in case) for a Saturday 11:30a brunch. It was not crowded when we arrived and were seated promptly. Keep in mind, there's also a lunch menu section but they cannot serve that until 12 noon. There's an underground parking garage close by and thank goodness Flamingo Deck will validate your parking up to two hours, I think. Our party of 5 enjoyed our entrees. We ordered the following: -Crème Brûlée French Toast -Prosciutto Avocado Toast x2 -Caprese Benedict -Chicken Pesto Sandwich I love how they have some mocktail options so we got a few Lychee Spritz. Delicious, not too sweet and very refreshing. Out of everything we ordered, the proscuitto avocado toast was the favorite. It was freaking delicious! Portions were bigggggg....big enough for females to share so FYI. Our waitress provided great customer service. She was patient with us when we took forever to decide what we want to order since we kept chatting and taking photos/videos (lol yeah typical bachelorette behaviors) and she checked on us periodically to make sure everything was to our liking. Food was delivered promptly....food was fresh and pippin hot. There is a security guard by the door that checks for I.D. Thought that was random since it's daytime and we were here for just brunch. But I guess since this is a bar establishment, it's a requirement. Overall, really enjoyed my brunch here and it help set the mood for the rest of my Saturday bachelorette activities. Our first stop in San Diego, this was a great way to kick off the week! Flamingo Deck was right down the road from the hotel we stayed at upon arrival and we came hangry and ready to get the party started. I came here on Sunday with a big group of people to get a few drinks and appetizers. Our server was very patient with us in getting all of our orders in. We had someone in our group who ordered a mocktail and has been sober for over 13 years. I understand that mistakes happen, but our server told us she had given him the correct drink and came back a few minutes later telling us she had given him the wrong drink AFTER he had been drinking it. Our friend ended up having to leave early and didn't get a chance to pay for his mocktail. The server was SO RUDE about it saying "well it's on my tab still so one of you guys have to pay for it" in such an aggressive tone. In my opinion, the LEAST she could've done was given us his $8 mocktail for free since she gave our sober friend one with alcohol. Our experience was amazing overall, but the way the server acted rubbed a few of us the wrong way. Mind you, we still left a tip even after there was a 20% charge for bigger groups. the service here is so bad. the server katie is not attentive at all and had a bit of an attitude. we sat at our table and waited a full 20min before receiving menus or drinks and the hostess had to come up and ask if our server knew if we were seated. she didn't bring us boxes, didn't bring us water, didn't bring me my aïoli like i asked multiple times. the bartender, woody, was more attentive to us and took care of us more than the server. I have been here a few times and the service was amazing but this time on my birthday it was horrible. we got bottomless mimosas and have been here for two hours and only was brought one pitcher. i appreciated that the bartender tried making up for the bad service but that should never have to happen in the first place, he is the only one there who listened and wanted to make it right. read more

Marsha LACKS CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS and doesn't care about her servers! i ordered the Wagyu meatball's with sourdough bread in tomato sauce. They arrived to the table fairly quickly. I cut into the meatball and it was very pink, indicating undercooked. The manager Marsha agreed to place another other order and mentioned they are mixed with pork. I had already paid for the check because I was pressed on time. The server was busy and i had to remind her we needed water at the table. The next order took longer than the first. The meatballs were toasty from the outside. Once cut, the meatball was again pink! Marsha explained its well cooked and said it was due to the pork. I told her I would not be eating any pork that had a pink texture and risk getting sick! She argued it was well cooked and brought a raw meatball. I asked her if we got sick would she be liable. She refused to answer and refused to reimburse the fee for the meatballs. So i told her I needed to adjust my tip. That infuriated her because she felt i was taking it out on the server. Marsha, you failed to provide excellent service for the restaurant at the cost of your server. The tip is an added gratuity for the overall service provided. Marsha refused to reimburse the meatball fee of 18 dollars. I would have been okay with a partial refund since the bread was eaten. To educate you, eating undercooked pork meatballs carries significant health risks, primarily bacterial food poisoning (such as E. coli and Salmonella) and parasitic infections (like trichinosis). read more

I got the one thing our waitress suggested, the crem brûlée French toast, and it did not live up to it's expectations. It was soggy and not cooked fully. He could've at least gotten someone else to help instead of acting like we were a problem. The restaurant wasn't even busy, yet we still waited almost 40 minutes for our food just for everything to come out one plate at a time, spaced out by like 10 minutes. Then the French toast came out raw in the middle, which was disgusting. This was my first time here and honestly it'll probably be my last.
