The seafood here is something else. I had two sushi rolls and both were incredible. The restaurant has a nice view of a bay. Good dinner spot.
This is a casual restaurant in the Catamaran hotel. You can sit outside and have a beautiful view of the bay. We ate there a few times for breakfast and during Happy Hour. I also ordered room service from there one morning. The breakfast I ordered was great. Two eggs,potatoes, choice of meat and toast. My friends ordered biscuits and gravy. We all enjoyed our meals. During Happy Hour, the Fish and Chips is a great choice at $24. It was so good that the next time we ate there, all of us ordered it. The servers were very pleasant and attentive. Can't beat good food with an awesome view!
6/30/2026 - our 3rd time here. First, don't park in the hotel parking lot. It's a rip off. $20 the first hour and $10 every hour after this. They do not validate. Drive around the area and park for free in the residential area and walk there. We ordered the following: Coconut Ceviche, which was excellent and big pieces of fish, CA BLT, very good but far to much lettuce and only 2 bacon strips total, the Sal Citrus Roll which was the best item we selected and the Polynesian Punch which was the least favorite. Had to much cinnamon in the drink. The total bill was around $80. Again, they added back office tips and we asked to have it removed. They forgot. Next time we go the tip will we deduct the extra cost. We aren't there to pay a living wage to employees. Bump up the food prices. Don't add an extra tax to guests. 4 stars overall due to the extra service fee added and was to be removed. The ceviche was excellent but we had to ask for more chips which were broken. They gave us a plate of small broken chips and counted just 5 normal ones. Soy sauce brought out to us and was empty. Overall a total of 4 stars !
Had a great dinner experience during our stay. The views from the outdoor patio are spectacular. On Sunday night, there was live music playing which was great. I ordered the poke bowl, and the server asked me if I wanted rice because theirs just had seaweed salad, and I said yes so he was kind enough to ring up the poke bowl from Morays next door. Which brings me to the service, outstanding. Our waiter was Adam and he was amazing! Very pleasant and friendly, and went above and beyond for all of us. I also ordered the barrel aged Mai tai which packed a punch and was definitely worth the price. I'd recommend dinner here even if you aren't staying on the property.
Had the kalua pork quesadilla, breakfast sandwich, and ube lava cake. Portions were pretty small but food was good. The breakfast sandwich was very tasty and I would get again. The ube lava cake was good but there was not really filling inside of it like an actual lava cake, but the sauce on top of it was good. I liked the outdoor seating, felt like I was in Hawaii.
Came here for brunch. Definitely opt to sit outside. The staff was a bit slow in refilling our drinks. The stuffed French toast was a great balance of sweet and salty and the whipped cream was great. The crab cake bene was good; the potatoes it came with were ok. The chilaquiles was definitely a must and quite filling if you're hungry; I did ask to swap the chicken for salmon, but they gave me both (I was able to eat around the chicken).

When you're staying at the Catamaran, it only makes sense to treat yourself to dinner at Oceana Coastal Kitchen--and we did exactly that. Not once, but twice during New Year's week. Because when the food's this good and the view's this relaxing, why not double dip? On a quiet school-night evening, we had the patio to ourselves, and let me tell you--it felt like our own private bayfront dining room. They rolled out the tableside heater, and we kicked back in that perfect San Diego winter air, watching the lights twinkle across Mission Bay like a scene from a postcard. We started with sushi and a vibrant beet and goat cheese salad, then dove into the star of the show:Crispy snapper with forbidden fried rice, glazed spam, pineapple drizzle, sesame, and cilantro--a sweet, savory, crunchy, tropical moment that made us forget it was even winter. But the highlight reel doesn't stop there--we also celebrated New Year's Eve here with friends. This time inside the restaurant, opting for the prix fixe menu that did not disappoint: * Scallops cooked to perfection * Burrata beet salad (yes, we're beet people now) * Prime rib and halibut mains that deserved a standing ovation * And for dessert: the rich, indulgent chocolate torte that practically demanded a slow clap. Our drinks kept pace with the food: Dark & Stormy - moody but smooth Espresso Martini - classy and caffeinated Mana Potion - because even adults deserve a little magic What tied it all together was the top-tier service. The servers treated us like we were longtime regulars or long-lost royalty--friendly, attentive, and full of great menu recommendations that elevated the night. Bottom line:Oceana Coastal Kitchen is what happens when great food, golden service, and a Mission Bay sunset get together to throw a party. Whether you're out with friends, staying at the resort, or just looking for an effortlessly perfect SoCal night, this is the move.
Went here for my sis birthday. Very nice vibes, our waitress is super nice. Food is okay, for the price not really worth it in my opinion. The sourdough bread is nice they pair it with many different butters. We got the Hawaiian pad thai which we did not like. It was different, the pineapple thru us off. Sushi was delicious. The steak was good but for the price it's so small. The free birthday cheesecake tasted very tasted like cardboard.

Went to Oceana Kitchen for restaurant week. The squash soup was creamy and good. My flat iron steak was juicy and cooked just right with mashed potatoes and broccolini on the side. The crème brûlée was a bit too sweet for me, but overall I'd come back to try more dishes. The service there was excellent with a nice ocean view
Several years ago, we came to the brunch buffet at Oceana and it was fantastic. The outdoor view of the bay is phenomenal. Food for dinner was just ok for the price. We had the seared tuna roll as an appetizer and it was pretty good. Unfortunately, we had to ask for soy sauce. My husband had the chowder and while it's impressive that it has whole clams, they didn't bring out a spoon initially! By the time the spoon came out the chowder had cooled down quite a bit. My husband's scallops were not seared properly and tasted salty. I suggest that the chef watch Gordon Ramsay's technique, searing and preparing scallops. I got the signature dish, the crispy fried snapper, and it was magnificent to see. It was a little challenging to eat, but was tasty. Pineapple sauce was a little sweet. The forbidden rice was good. My son liked his teriyaki chicken. My daughter-in-law liked her poke... We also split the strawberry salad, which was tasty. For dessert we all had a few bites of the Ube cake with coconut ice cream which we liked. We all enjoyed our drinks. We mostly had The traditional Mai Tais. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. Overall, gorgeous view with live entertainment, OK but expensive food. They need to tighten up their service (missing soup spoon, soy sauce with sushi) We had a wonderful time there with family....
Oceana Coastal Kitchen is a great spot at the Catamaran Hotel. We had a staycation there and received a dining credit, so we enjoyed breakfast here two mornings in a row. We sat next to the fish tank, which we're big fans of, and had a delicious eggs Benedict with mimosas. The food and service were both very good. We also came here for dinner and ordered the seafood tower. It was pretty expensive and probably not something I would have ordered without the dining credit, but it was delicious and made for a fun date night. read more
I'm rounding up to a 5. We had fathers day lunch here recently. The staff were all friendly. I'd rate the service 4.5. I won't say the service was slow but it would have been a little quicker. The food I would also rate about 4.5. All our dishes were great portions and tasted great. Our table finished all their food. My burger could use a little more flavor but still worth it. Now location is what makes this great! A view of a nice lawn and the bay. The atmosphere was great! The weather perfect and the solo performer singing was also great! Worth coming back to. Parking is validated, but it was tough to get valet at the time and self parking did seem limited. read more

If you told me the best hollandaise sauce in San Diego would be in a hotel restaurant that faces the beautiful bay, I would say you're dreaming. I guess dreams come true, because Oceana Coastal Kitchen has the best Eggs Benedict I've had in a while. The sauce has that perfect balance of lemon and cream, and I was so glad I ordered extra sauce. The service is solid. I was the first customer bright and early in the morning, and they gave me everything I asked for with a smile. I will be back, for sure. It's a dream set-up for a working parent looking for a delicious respite to catch up with their week and breath. read more

The food was amazing! Every roll was perfectly curated and felt like a treat. The Brussels crisps were cooked just right--crispy with a great balance of flavor. I had the Mai Tai, which was very strong (not complaining!), and the Piña Colada was the perfect level of sweet. Highly recommend! The service was great as well. We enjoyed a quiet and delicious meal, with each roll arriving right on time. The table was perfectly comfortable and gave us a great view of the beautiful aquarium. I went back again last night with a friend and we had a marvelous evening at the restaurant. Manny found us a great table outside and turned on the heater for us. Alejandro did a great job, taking care of our waters, our dirty dishes and was very available. Robby was our waiter and was very knowledgeable about the menu, any exceptions we asked for and was very personable. Both my friend and I had the harvest salad and we are still talking about it. It was awesome. We can't wait to go back for another long walk along the beach and then a lovely dinner. read more

The meat was tasty but was not cooked to order. I asked for medium and came well done. They were willing to bring me another but I was starving ! Mashed potatoes were okay, they needed more salt. Dish needed more veggies. Not pictured but ordered was the sourdough bread. That was very good. Can't go wrong with bread and butter. Overall the food was okay but overpriced. You're definitely paying for the views. The restaurant has a nice view to the bay. Our server David was also very nice and accommodating. Very knowledgeable of the menu. Overall an okay experience. I looove coming here. I've been here now probably 5-6 times in the past couple of years, and it has never once disappointed. I've been here meeting my boyfriend's grandparents for the first time, then later on our anniversary, a birthday, plus a couple other occasions. Every time I feel welcomed right in, I don't think I've ever left without someone paying me a compliment, which of course makes my night! Anyways the service is outstanding, plus you're basically right on the water, but it never seems too cold haha. Their heaters really help. Also sometimes there will be a live musician, which can create a lovely ambiance. Food and drinks are of course stunning as well. So beautiful here, definitely a locals hidden gem. read more

Oceana Coastal Kitchen is located inside the Catamaran resort and spa. It is the resort's nicer restaurant with a great view of mission bay. Ambiance: They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is a large, covered, heated patio with a perfect view of mission bay. If you are there around 9m, you even have a spectacular view of the Seaworld fireworks as well. It is a romantic spot for a nice dinner. Service: Out server was friendly, and provided good descriptions and recommendations when asked. I will say it took a while for our plates and menus to be cleared and to get drinks, but food came out in a reasonable time and was well paced. When we were waiting a long time for the manager to process a giftcard for us, our server offered to give us a complimentary dessert. We passed on it, but it was a nice gesture of service. Drinks: Husband ordered a Mai tai and a pina colada. He enjoyed both and the Mai tai was strong. They come at a hefty price tag of $19 each though! Food: We started with the rosemary bread, which was a large portion and came with a delicious herb and caper butter, Black Sea salt butter, and olive oil. We also enjoyed the crispy pork wings. For entrees, I had the miso salmon and my husband had the crispy whole snapper. I preferred the snapper. The presentation was awesome and the snapper was perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious pineapple glaze. The black pineapple forbidden rice that it came with was also unique and tasty. The salmon was cooked perfectly, but the curry sauce could've been thicker and the crispy plantains were super bland to me. The sushi rolls looked amazing, so I would try that if we were to come back. Parking cane be tough in the area, but they do have valet parking for the hotel. read more

Enjoyed breakfast on the outside patio facing the bay - the cappuccino and vegetable frittata was nice and tasty. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if the service was better. The waiters that delivered the water and food were nice, but our main waitress was no where to be seen, didn't check on us, took a really long time to take our order, and by the time we were finishing up our meal, she finally came over to let us know she was going on break and that another person would close out our bill. The restaurant was not busy, it was around 9-10 AM, so I'm not sure what was going on, but that left a bad impression. Again, the food and coffee were great - a little pricey, but at least it was good. read more

I called ahead of time to make a reservation to be seated outside and when we got here, we were told that they didn't reserve a table for us outside so we had to be seated inside. We were willing to wait for a table to open up and even asked if they can put the tables together but the host was hesitant and didn't seem to want to help us so we just left it alone. A little disappointed coz we were looking forward to sitting outside with the kids. However, our server was very nice and helpful, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of which made up for it. We ordered oysters, a roll, crudo, mussels, ribs, hanger steak and tuna steak. It was just ok. For the price we thought it would be better, we were disappointed. Attended a work retreat at the Catamaran's Oceania Coastal Kitchen in their private room. Service was fantastic. We were well taken care of without disruption to our agenda. Great location and access to the water with lovely views. I had the Kahlua Pork Benedict (not pictured), Fish Poke, and Strawberry Salad, all of which were good. The menu has a lot of options and everything my colleagues ordered looked good, so I'd come back for dinner around sunset in the future. There is a $500 food and beverage minimum to reserve the private room for four hours or more. Note that there isn't open WiFi but they will provide cards with codes for access when asked. read more

We were staying at the Catamaran and I saw this beautiful restaurant, with amazing views, so I did a quick Yelp check, saw some decent reviews and gave it a try, and I am very glad we did! We came for dinner and was so pleased we came back for breakfast! For dinner we had a mix of sushi, and pasta, all of it was excellent! The sushi was unique, fresh quality fish, rolls are the perfect size and so much flavor, all the rolls were delicious, but we all agreed the house roll was the best. My sons also got sausage rigatoni - amazing, and the seared ahi tuna salad with soba noodles, which was very flavorful and ahi was cooked perfectly. For breakfast we got the pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon plate, and the mushroom parm omelette. Everything was excellent! I definitely recommend if your staying at the Catamaran or not, make sure you sit outside, it's a beautiful view. read more

But I ordered the shrimp cerviche and after two bites I did not like it so I asked if I could get something else. The Manager on duty quickly took the shrimp and chips away and then said if I get something else I have to pay for it. What happened to "I'm so sorry Ma'am that you did not like your food, how can I accommodate you better? Can I replace it with another appetizer that you desire?" Or SOMETHING! He just basically said no problem I'll take it away and the other appetizer is going to be charged to you. Have to say the server this time was a different person and was great and no issues. Only issues when the Manager tried to intervene or be acknowledged and I rather he never came to the table unless requested. Mom says: her mock tail was soooooo much better this time. But she got the hanger steak and ordered medium but it came out more rare so it had to be sent back to cook more. My thing is be more consistent and give the best customer service as possible. I serve all LA Air Force and provide them the best that they deserve just like a paying customer at a restaurant. read more

This place is worth a visit for the view of the bay. BE sure to make a reservation around 5pm so you can see the sunset. In my opinion the food we ordered was okay and very pricey. We payed over $175 for a small amount of food and two cocktails. The service was great, all of the staff were super friendly and very attentive. Oceana does have specials throughout the week, I'll definitely be back for happy hour to see if I can find a dish I actually like for the price. Cheers! read more

Food portions and taste were overall very good. My wife loved the fish and the poke was okay (definitely not Hawaiian poke). But my biggest issue with the poke was the fact that they put tomatoes in the poke! I get trying to bring some acidity to the dish but the taste of tomatoes and raw poke do not mix well (I just took the tomatoes out). The Ube lava cake was sooo good! Service was attentive but not overbearing. Ambiance was perfect, we sat outside to enjoy the view and weren't placed directly next to someone but also not so secluded where you felt like the waiter was forgetting about you. read more

We were able to make an early Friday dinner reservation and had the closest seat to the beautiful bay view. Our server Ariel was friendly and helpful. I'm so glad she recommended the chef's special of the day - a sushi roll filled with incredibly fresh shrimp. She said the chef goes to local markets on Tuesdays so keep that in mind if you want the freshest specials! The rosemary bread appetizer was so soft and fluffy. The whipped butter with black Hawaiian sea salt sounds so simple but it was my favorite. The lemon caper butter was also excellent and the olive oil tasted like pure quality. The restaurant validates your hotel parking so you can take advantage of parking on site. The only downside of our experience was that the seagulls are bold and stole a piece of sushi from our neighboring table. Every now and then a worker would come chase them away but be on guard! read more

Super nice spot. Parking is a bit confusing so we parked on the street and then walked over. The view from the restaurant inside or outside is nice. Inside there is an aquarium and outside you have a view of the water. We started off with the sushi. Super yummy with the hit of lemon. Then got brussel sprouts which is a must! Nice and crispy like chips. Had to get the bread as almost every table ordered it and we felt fomo. It came with 3 different spreads. Olive oil, butter and salt, as well as an herb butter which was the best. I got the curry chicken for my entree. The curry was flavorful and the duck was tender and juicy. Great combo, wish the curry had a little bit more flavor, but is was still good nevertheless. read more

Came here for restaurant week. The outside patio is beautiful and heated. I ordered the Hamachi Crudo and Grilled Flat Iron Steak which were amazing. We also tried the Herbed Potato Gnocchi which was good but the portion was pretty small. The highlight was the desserts. Both the Fried Cannoli Ravioli and Caramel Pineapple Half Sphere were delightful, I don't think these are on the regular menu but if that's just a taste of what they do I want to try their other options. I'd definitely come back for a date night to try more on the menu. read more

I used to live in PB a decade ago and loved it ! I lived in apartments and would walk to the catamaran for lunch all the time. I just moved back to San Diego and decided to go here and I was so happy to find this place is just as wonderful as it was a decade ago. Food is excellent and prices are very reasonable for being on the beach. I got a roll and the CA BLT and a Bellini. Our waitress was Christina (maybe Christine ) she was a doll! For our dinner we decided to try OCEANA COASTAL KITCHEN. This restaurant is inside the Catamaran resort hotel . The lobby is beautiful, there's more of a nature feel to it. We chose to be seated outdoors, and there is a view of the beach! A lot of people on are on bikes, playing volleyball, using rentals for water activities. I didn't expect how Fun their back area would be, 'coz at the Front the place is so peaceful, but at the back there's so many people hanging out at the beach. Before I made a reservation I asked if they are serving a CRISPY WHOLE SNAPPER and the lady on the phone said they do. After the conversation with the Lady on the phone, it only took us 15 minuites to get into the restaurant and when I was about to order my Snapper fish our server said that they were out. I got dissapointed 'coz that's what I wanted to eat for dinner, but we were already seated so we just ordered the following: *PINA COLADA *CRISPY PORK RIBS *ARTICHOKE FLAT BREAD *SMOKE SALMON CITRUS ROLL *BOUILLABAISSE - Shrimp, mussels, clams, market fish, safron tomato broth, rouille, and baguette. My PINA COLADA was very good. Our PORK RIBS for our appetizer was flavorful, but it was also very Hard, the meats were hard to pull from bones. My Son had a SMOKED SALMON CITRUS ROLL and he said it was fresh and good. For the BOUILLABAISSE, my Husband said he was not impressed about it 'coz he said the broth tasted like a Minestrone soup. But I enjoyed my ARTICHOKE FLATBREAD, there was a good amount of Artichoke on them. Ambiance and service was great, some foods were good and some not. It's just an okay place. read more
