6/30/2026 - our 3rd time here. First, don't park in the hotel parking lot. It's a rip off. $20 the first hour and $10 every hour after this. They do not validate. Drive around the area and park for free in the residential area and walk there. We ordered the following: Coconut Ceviche, which was excellent and big pieces of fish, CA BLT, very good but far to much lettuce and only 2 bacon strips total, the Sal Citrus Roll which was the best item we selected and the Polynesian Punch which was the least favorite. Had to much cinnamon in the drink. The total bill was around $80. Again, they added back office tips and we asked to have it removed. They forgot. Next time we go the tip will we deduct the extra cost. We aren't there to pay a living wage to employees. Bump up the food prices. Don't add an extra tax to guests. 4 stars overall due to the extra service fee added and was to be removed. The ceviche was excellent but we had to ask for more chips which were broken. They gave us a plate of small broken chips and counted just 5 normal ones. Soy sauce brought out to us and was empty. Overall a total of 4 stars !

This is a casual restaurant in the Catamaran hotel. You can sit outside and have a beautiful view of the bay. We ate there a few times for breakfast and during Happy Hour. I also ordered room service from there one morning. The breakfast I ordered was great. Two eggs, potatoes, choice of meat and toast. My friends ordered biscuits and gravy. We all enjoyed our meals. During Happy Hour, the Fish and Chips is a great choice at $24. It was so good that the next time we ate there, all of us ordered it. The servers were very pleasant and attentive. Can't beat good food with an awesome view!

Came here for brunch. Definitely opt to sit outside. The staff was a bit slow in refilling our drinks. The stuffed French toast was a great balance of sweet and salty and the whipped cream was great. The crab cake bene was good; the potatoes it came with were ok. The chilaquiles was definitely a must and quite filling if you're hungry; I did ask to swap the chicken for salmon, but they gave me both (I was able to eat around the chicken).

Had a great dinner experience during our stay. The views from the outdoor patio are spectacular. On Sunday night, there was live music playing which was great. I ordered the poke bowl, and the server asked me if I wanted rice because theirs just had seaweed salad, and I said yes so he was kind enough to ring up the poke bowl from Morays next door. Which brings me to the service, outstanding. Our waiter was Adam and he was amazing! Very pleasant and friendly, and went above and beyond for all of us. I also ordered the barrel aged Mai tai which packed a punch and was definitely worth the price. I'd recommend dinner here even if you aren't staying on the property.

Wonderful place! Stopped for lunch while biking around the bay. Sat outside- enjoyed ciders and very delicious sandwiches. Our server was kind and attentive to us.

    Salmon citrus roll, 8 pieces.

The food is yummy especially the mussels. Thursday promotion for sushi roll make it a great deal.

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience at this restaurant for breakfast. We stayed at the hotel and two days in a row, we came to have breakfast. To start off, the view from the outdoor seating is unmatched! Loved the view of the ocean! Margarita served us and she was the most attentive waitress! Lastly, the food was delicious. We tried the omelette, breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. All savory! Loved their latte's as well. I recommend this restaurant for breakfast!

Oceana Coastal Kitchen - Bay Views, Beach Vibes, and Bites Worth Savoring. When you're staying at the Catamaran, it only makes sense to treat yourself to dinner at Oceana Coastal Kitchen--and we did exactly that. Not once, but twice during New Year's week. Because when the food's this good and the view's this relaxing, why not double dip? On a quiet school-night evening, we had the patio to ourselves, and let me tell you--it felt like our own private bayfront dining room. They rolled out the tableside heater, and we kicked back in that perfect San Diego winter air, watching the lights twinkle across Mission Bay like a scene from a postcard. We started with sushi and a vibrant beet and goat cheese salad, then dove into the star of the show:Crispy snapper with forbidden fried rice, glazed spam, pineapple drizzle, sesame, and cilantro--a sweet, savory, crunchy, tropical moment that made us forget it was even winter. But the highlight reel doesn't stop there--we also celebrated New Year's Eve here with friends. This time inside the restaurant, opting for the prix fixe menu that did not disappoint: * Scallops cooked to perfection * Burrata beet salad (yes, we're beet people now) * Prime rib and halibut mains that deserved a standing ovation * And for dessert: the rich, indulgent chocolate torte that practically demanded a slow clap. Our drinks kept pace with the food: Dark & Stormy - moody but smooth Espresso Martini - classy and caffeinated Mana Potion - because even adults deserve a little magic What tied it all together was the top-tier service. The servers treated us like we were longtime regulars or long-lost royalty--friendly, attentive, and full of great menu recommendations that elevated the night. Bottom line:Oceana Coastal Kitchen is what happens when great food, golden service, and a Mission Bay sunset get together to throw a party. Whether you're out with friends, staying at the resort, or just looking for an effortlessly perfect SoCal night, this is the move.

We had a family dinner here and it was good with a great beach view. Also, Petfriendly.

Went here for my sis birthday. Very nice vibes, our waitress is super nice. Food is okay, for the price not really worth it in my opinion. The sourdough bread is nice they pair it with many different butters. We got the Hawaiian pad thai which we did not like. It was different, the pineapple thru us off. Sushi was delicious. The steak was good but for the price it's so small. The free birthday cheesecake tasted very tasted like cardboard.

Went to Oceana Kitchen for restaurant week. The squash soup was creamy and good. My flat iron steak was juicy and cooked just right with mashed potatoes and broccolini on the side. The crème brûlée was a bit too sweet for me, but overall I'd come back to try more dishes. The service there was excellent with a nice ocean view

Several years ago, we came to the brunch buffet at Oceana and it was fantastic. The outdoor view of the bay is phenomenal. Food for dinner was just ok for the price. We had the seared tuna roll as an appetizer and it was pretty good. Unfortunately, we had to ask for soy sauce. My husband had the chowder and while it's impressive that it has whole clams, they didn't bring out a spoon initially! By the time the spoon came out the chowder had cooled down quite a bit. My husband's scallops were not seared properly and tasted salty. I suggest that the chef watch Gordon Ramsay's technique, searing and preparing scallops. I got the signature dish, the crispy fried snapper, and it was magnificent to see. It was a little challenging to eat, but was tasty. Pineapple sauce was a little sweet. The forbidden rice was good. My son liked his teriyaki chicken. My daughter-in-law liked her poke... We also split the strawberry salad, which was tasty. For dessert we all had a few bites of the Ube cake with coconut ice cream which we liked. We all enjoyed our drinks. We mostly had The traditional Mai Tais. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. Overall, gorgeous view with live entertainment, OK but expensive food. They need to tighten up their service (missing soup spoon, soy sauce with sushi) We had a wonderful time there with family....

All of the food is a 10/10 Highly recommend the French Toast The Seabass crust tastes like a bbq lays chip, it's so unique and yummy

As I understand it, Moray's is the outside/patio dining portion, while Oceana is the indoor fine-dining situation. I believe they pretty much have very similar menus, with Oceana having some additional high-end offerings. Came out to Moray's to visit my cousin who was in town for work. Since my cousin now has her most adorable infant, she wanted to keep it simple and dine at the hotel restaurant, which was fine by me. While I waited for them to come down from their room, I got us a patio table and ordered a delicious $10 draft. Mixed drinks were all hovering around $19 each. The server was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which I greatly appreciated. I went with the reasonably priced Steak Frites, $36, which was to stated to come with Muenster cheese and caramelized onions on top, and served with a side chimichurri. While the steak was wonderfully cooked to a solid med. rare as requested, it seemingly had very little flavor. Perhaps had it not been covered with a wealth of some DEEPLY caramelized onions and an abundance of Muenster cheese, I might have been able to taste the seasonings and/or the beef. While I love some deeply caramelized onions on a salt-laden burger, the extent to which these were caramelized left them seeming soggy and too sweet for the steak pairing. Add in the several slices of melted Muenster cheese on top, and flavourwise I could hardly tell I was eating a steak. Ultimately, the abundance of toppings overwhelmed the steak. The accompanying chimichurri was also a little strange. While I appreciate that it was diced and not blended, it was very heavy on the oil, while very light on the herbs. The frites were nicely salted and good on their own, however a decent amount became soggy from being under the steak. The burger on the other hand looked excellent. My cousin devoured his in what seemed like a split second. I could have went for the burger, however at $27 I perceived the $36 steak frites to be of a better value. Again, shout out to our server. They were on-point! Thanks Moray's!

The drinks arrived after the appetizer. She said the bartender was pretty slammed, but when we looked over, they seemed to be just talking to each other. Anyway the food arrived. We had to call her back because we had no utensils. That took another ten minutes. We had muscles, but nothing to put the shells in, so I just piled them on the table which then of course started this pool of sauce around them, and the table got quite messy. All in all, having the music so loud quite frankly I think I might have hearing loss, and the service being so terrible I couldn't wait to get out of there. Our bill was $200. After arriving, there was essentially no service or acknowledgment, so we quietly decided to leave. As we were walking away, one of the employees actually chased us down outside. All I said was, "I wish you luck with your new business." Instead of handling the situation professionally, the employee confronted us and scolded us with, "Why are you being so rude?" That completely caught us off guard. We had not raised our voices, complained, or caused any scene whatsoever. We were simply disappointed customers trying to leave respectfully. What confuses me most is how a brand-new business trying to build a customer base could treat supportive first-time customers this way. First impressions matter, but so do second chances -- and sadly, this experience ensured we won't be returning.

First were the unusual business hours (e.g. 9 am to 9 pm on Thursday and Friday, only 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday, etc). My initial attempt to visit occurred after work on a weekday. Despite the supposed closing time of 11 pm, the doors were locked at 5:30 pm. Second was the lack of prices on the menus. That is a cardinal sin in my book because if you are open to the public, then you owe it to the customers to disclose the costs. The first item for my to-go order was a snack size serving (six pieces) of Chicken Wings. I picked Bonnie's Barbeque for a sauce that featured a sweet and smokey flavor. The wings were coated with the sauce and not deep fried which made them a bit healthier. The second item was a Birria Quesadilla that came with consome on the side. A flour tortilla was filled with cheese, marinated shredded beef, cilantro, and onion. It was then sliced into smaller triangular pieces and then separated by aluminum foil in a takeout box. The consome had moderate richness while the cheesy, beefy tortilla was filling. I didn't understand the meaning of the new moniker as the interior setup had not been modified. It certainly did not have the ambiance of a playground. My first impression of this place was a three star rating with multiple areas of needed improvement including signage on the marquee. If one is driving down Mission Blvd, then there is no way to notice from the roadside that The Playground even exists.

I visited the…read moreplayground with high hopes based on the reviews, but what I got instead was a stomach-turning disaster. I ordered the Birria Crunch Wrap, and halfway through eating, I discovered a long strand of hair buried in the food. Not just on top in the food. It was clearly cooked into the dish, which tells me that basic hygiene in the kitchen is completely lacking. When I pointed it out to the server, she barely apologized and offered to remake it, as if that would magically erase the thought of chewing through someone else's hair. No manager came to speak to us, no discount, no sense of urgency or genuine concern. The rest of the food wasn't memorable either--bland, lukewarm, and overpriced for the quality. But honestly, after the hair incident, I couldn't bring myself to take another bite. If you value cleanliness and basic health standards, avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that know how to wear a hairnet.

Nico's is officially our new favorite seafood spot!…read more We've passed by so many times while in PB and have always been curious. They seemed to have a consistent crowd going! We finally stopped by and boy was it an experience. We decided to indulge and got the Poke Bowl (2 scoops), Nico Burrito, and Calamari Filet. Their Poke Bowl is spicy ahi, seaweed salad, ginger, and a drizzle of sauce. So fire! The fish is super fresh. No notes! The Nico Burrito features battered white fish, rice, beans, and pico. Mayhaps the best fish burrito I've ever had. Lastly, the Calamari Filet which I think is a limited time special. Super tender, thick pieces of squid! Everything was just so fresh. The ingredients really spoke for themselves!

We stopped in for an early dinner around 4:30 PM, and it was already fairly busy. There aren't a ton of tables inside or outside, but we were able to find a spot. Shortly after we ordered, the line stretched out the door, so I was glad we arrived when we did. The menu is fairly simple and focuses on a handful of fresh seafood options. We ordered the Grilled Shrimp Burrito, an 8 oz Red Snapper Ceviche, and the Crispy Rice Poke. Our food came out quickly. The shrimp burrito wasn't enormous, but it was a good size and came with guacamole, which was a nice addition. The shrimp was cooked well and nicely seasoned. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, though I did find it a bit pricey at $15 for the portion size. My favorite dish was the Crispy Rice Poke. The crispy rice was topped with tuna, ginger, seaweed, and several sauces that added a lot of flavor and texture. Every bite had a nice balance of savory, tangy, and fresh flavors. Overall, the food was good, and it's definitely a solid spot if you're looking for fresh poke or seafood. Just keep in mind that the menu is intentionally simple, so there isn't a huge variety of options if you're looking for a more extensive selection.
