My friends and I were walking around the area and we found this cafe. Au Pain Doré is a nice chill place to sit down and unwind with your friends while enjoying pastries and coffee. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Quiche, Almond Croissant and Iced Americano. Smoked Salmon Quiche (4/5) had a nice buttery and flaky crust. The egg filling itself was smooth. The smoked salmon-to-egg ratio was just right where every bite was well-balanced. A little addition of cheese and some dill could help elevate the creaminess and flavours of this dish. Almond Croissant (3.5/5) was buttery and flaky. It also had a rich and nutty flavour from the almond filling and the sliced almonds gave it a nice crunchy texture. The only thing I must say is that the croissant didn't have the satisfying crisp on the outside and the fluffy texture inside. Iced Americano (5/5) was so delicious. It had notes of chocolate with an intense body. I would go here just for their coffee. The service itself was okay. You walk in and order at the counter and they ask you whether you're dining in or having it to-go. We opted to dine-in to cool down from the summer heat. They call out your order and place your oder at the front for you to pick them up yourself.

    Sour sandwich!

Cafe is at road side with some outdoor sitting. Amazing place to start your lazy weekend with croissant and coffee. I find the service to be slower (may be it was weekend that's why!) but overall vibe is nice.

I had high expectations for this place after reading various review sources. Food: 3/5 Ambience & location: 5/5 Service 5/5 I got - Canelé - Plain Croissant - Roast beef sandwich Canelé was disappointing. Outside had no crispiness, inside was dry. Plain croissant was average. It had a good buttery flavor but the overall texture was grocery store level (again, no outer crispiness). The roast beef sandwich had good quality baguette with nice blush of butter. I liked its use of vegetables (mix of fresh & roasted). But the roast beef was a grocery deli level - mushy, salty and with greenish cast. The location is perfect. Nice and comfortable seating. Many eat-in patrons are enjoying their drinks (coffee, tea etc...). Service is prompt, no complaint! I may come back for coffee with friends and colleagues for a short relax moments during or after work.

Great new bakery in the neighborhood. Everything is baked in house. Good coffee as well. They just opened a few days ago and already have a lot of customers from people just walking by and being enticed by the spread of delicious baked goods.

First time in Toronto and I stopped at this bakery twice in one day. Everything about it is great. I came first in the morning around 11am and it was the place to be. Every table inside was full and customers were coming in and out. I got a pear danish and a mini apple strudel. The pear danish was amazing. It was still slightly warm so I know it was fresh. I ate inside and sat near an outlet to charge up my phone a little. They have free WiFi. I came back later the same night right before close and got to meet the owners and another friendly staff member. I ordered a hot chocolate for my walk back to the hotel and the owner was so nice explaining to me how they make the hot chocolate and even showed me the chocolate morsels that are melted down. Easily the best hot chocolate I've ever had. The display case is filled with pastries, sandwiches, tarts etc and they have a great drink menu filled with coffees, teas, hot chocolates and more. I'm hoping to get a Toronto layover again soon for work so I can pop back in for more.

From day one, this place has been my absolute favorite - it's never let me down! Whether it's the freshly baked goods or a ready-to-go sandwich, the flavors are always spot on. The savory sandwiches and creamy pastries are out of this world - and always fresh! Can't get enough of anything with spinach, salmon, and cheese. Another shout-out goes to the super friendly staff who always make me feel welcome. This is definitely the hottest spot in town - check it out if you haven't already!

The Apricot danish is a must-try! Absolutely delicious, and a nice afternoon sweet treat would definitely go back!

For a small cafe, the breakfast croissant was delicious. No complaints about the coffee either.

Popped in on a whim to pick up a treat. Decided on an almond croissant which was by far the best I've had! It was the perfect indulgence.

This small little bake shop had a menu hanging up, but I completely ignored it thanks to the baked goods right behind the counter that I was too busy staring at. I knew right away that I was going to order a Chocolate Croissant because, well, I always order a Chocolate Croissant if one is available. After making my first choice, this strange little baked good caught my eye, and it turned out to be something called a Cruffin.......a Cruffin you say? What is a cruffin? WELL, let me tell you. The cruffin is basically like a muffin, but like, with cheese and pepperoni on it so obviously I hate to order that sexy little bad boy right away. This thing wasn't big, but it was very dense and basically tasted like pizza crust which was absolutely delicious. After eating the cruffin, the Chocolate Croissant seemed way less cool but I ate it anyway. It tasted good and the chocolate was actually spread across the whole thing so they get an even bigger thumbs up for doing it right. Overall, COBS Bread was the spot! I had no idea this was a chain, but who cares, this place was great. I really liked the Cruffin I got and the croissant was really good as well. I will absolutely be revisiting COBS Bread when I come back to Canada and devouring a few more cruffins while I'm at it!

I honestly have never seen happier staff than at this location, but I mean I'd be happy too being around the heavenly scent of baked goods all day as well. Never lacking in free samples from (today's) honey challah bread and a ham and cheese pastry, it's always a delight to look at new options. Went in for my free birthday cinnamon bun and the person serving me kindly guided me towards to the frosted ones because they had just come out of the oven and seemed just as jovial as I was for a freebie. Lovely place and a regular stop on my weekly grocery runs.

I literally have nothing to say bad about this place, because that is how much I love their food. The menu is huge with so many varieties of subs/sandwiches to choose from, truly all of them are the best. The staff is so kind and are very welcoming, they allow you to modify the sandwich in case there is anything you don't want on it. There is also a lot of seating for you to come in and eat as well, incase you did not want to take out. Now onto the sandwiches! I kid you not, the bread here is the most softest, fresh bread which also does not get soggy with all the toppings/sauces that get put on it. And then all the toppings that get added are super fresh. These sandwiches truly are addicting but also worth the money! I will always go back for the Chef's Choice sub which comes with: Grilled Chicken Strips, Avocado, Tomato, Hot Pepper, Fresh Onion, Olives, Crispy Onion, Pesto Sauce & Grandma's Homemade Hot Sauce. I truly truly recommend this off their menu if you are looking for something you want to keep coming back for. 10/10 Recommend!!!

I agree that the price for a sandwich plus side salad is quite pricey ($13 including tax) but I like the fact that everything tastes fresh and light, and you have alot of options to customize your sandwich in a healthy way. I ordered the rosemary focaccia with chicken breast, arugula, avocado and chipotle spread plus their usual sprinkle of salt, pepper and squeeze of lime. It's like a gourmet sandwich - the bread was thick, soft with hints of rosemary and yummy. The salad was mostly arugula with carrots- this was very lightly seasoned but at least I won't be hit with itis going back to work! Definitely would come again, although not regularly since it's kinda pricey.

I'm going to continue with my overtime take out review series with Sandwich Box. You would think making a sandwich is probably not the most complicated task out there, but this place seems to get it all wrong. My order consisted of an egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread with a side salad. When I received it, I only got the sandwich and the restaurant failed to tell me the salad was no longer included in the combo (yet the price remained the same). That's great that the online menu was not updated to include items no longer available, a simple update would address all these problems knowmsayin? Now on to the actual sandwich, the bread was thick. I mean so thick it looked like there was about a half an inch of eggs inside of two encyclopedias worth of bread. The eggs themselves, totally flavorless and bland. Kinda hard to mess up an egg salad sandwich right? Even Tim Horton's can get that right! To make things short and sweet, I'll be looking over this option the next time I'm working late or considering a sandwich in the downtown area.
