My husband and I wanted to sit outside and eat on this beautiful evening, so we went to one of our go-to patios, Aubrey's on Middlebrook at Cedar Bluff. When we parked, we saw several outside tables were open. However, when we asked to sit outside, the hostess said there were no available tables. We told her we saw several and she said they are only allowed to use some of the tables, no reason given. If there's a server shortage, why not just say so? We understand that. But no explanation, just they couldn't seat us. They didn't really seem to care if we ate there or not, no offer to even get on the wait list. So we left. read more

Aubrey's is the local family restaurant. They have locations all over town! The only reason I give it a three star is because I can choose ten other places before I would choose here, but that doesn't mean it is bad. The food is good and the have a lot of American foods, burgers,chicken sandwiches, salads and the like. It's a great sit-down restuarant for a group, family or birthday. If you're ever in Knoxville and looking for a classic American restaurant, Aubrey's is a great choice. The Aubrey's restaurants are locally owned by Randy Burleson, who also owns SunSpot and Barley's. Like the other restaurants he owns, Aubrey's is known for several of their delicious entrees. The atmosphere is a little bit nicer/classier than your average Chili's or Ruby Tuesday, but the atmosphere is SO much better. Aubrey's has a glass-enclosed bar area to ensure the noise level stays down for the rest of the dining room. When you walk in and are greeted by the hosts, they write your name on a chalkboard and keep you informed when your table is ready. The kitchen is very open and the restaurant smells delicious :) When you look at their menu, they have several menu items ranging from small plates, appetizers, soups, salads, burgers/sandwiches, pastas, southern-cooking, and steak/seafood. I always start with the spinach queso- it has a little kick and is some of the best around! Do yourself a favor and order a cup or bowl of their potato soup..... it's fantastic. You can get it as a side item for one of your entrees too. My favorite entrees are the buttermilk-fried chicken breasts or the hawaiian ribeye. The rattlesnake pasta is amazing too if you like a little spicy pasta with tasty veggies & chicken in it. They have several desserts too- the praline cheesescake is on point and is more than sharable between a couple people. Aubrey's food is always consistent, and the service is too. We have been loyal customers for a very long time. I have eaten at the Aubreys in Farragut since I was 16 (now 46). Ordered on the app as we normally do, and was disappointed. We have been disappointed for quite sometime now, which is why I'm writing this review. Pizza Rockefeller was mush and the haystack pasta was made with bow tie pasta, which soaked up all the cream sauce and was extremely dry. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if you are traveling through Lenoir City. This city has more to offer than a subpar and overpriced restaurant. I liked the quiet dim lighted room with ample light over each table. Decorated by local artist. Quality of burger has declined. Used to be "prime" now is "chuck" I expected a nice Boston Scrod meal but received a dried out piece of fish. Had to put lots of butter and lemon to create a flavor. I brought it home, we ate on REAL plates, with REAL silverware, at the dining room table and it was very close to "going out" for dinner. I have been eating at Aubrey's for many years, at the various locations. There has never been an issue with our food. Recently, I visited the Cedar Bluff location. We were quickly seated and our orders taken. Our server, Chris, was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was crowded for lunch, yet we were never ignored. We ordered a salad and asked that one ingredient be substituted. We were halfway through our salads when we realized that the blue cheese that we requested be replaced with goat cheese, was in the salad (along with goat cheese). My friend particularly dislikes blue cheese so it ruined her enjoyment of the salad. When Chris brought our bill, he asked how everything was. She told him that there was blue cheese in the salad. He was genuinely disappointed and said he would speak to the kitchen. He comped our meals, which was unexpected but appreciated. My friend, who was new in the area, may have never tried Aubrey's again. Due to how this was handled, we are planning another visit. I really like coming here, it's very close to my place and I love the atmosphere. I ordered myself a filet and creamy spinach and my girlfriend got a pizza. The filet was really good and so was the creamy spinach so good that my girlfriend stopped eating her pizza and started to eat my food! Aubrey's is a super accommodating local restaurant chain with a decently diverse menu. They're nice on the inside but the newer ones definitely feel more upscale. The food is always made to order and the quality is actually slightly superior to that of what you're probably familiar with at other chains! I ordered the salmon over rice with steamed broccoli with a house salad in addition. This moron took it upon himself to substitute the house salad for the rice so I got a plate of salmon and veg, no rice and salad on the side. Fucking pissing me off.. don't change my order , you're not eating my food dipshit. I brought it to his attention when he came around and he tried to explain that lots of people substitute blah blah.. I was disappointed that Arbrey's was not enforcing their mask policy. There were guests waiting to be seated without masks on. We requested to be notified by phone or text when our table was ready so that we could wait in our car. It was impossible to maintain safe social distancing in their lobby due to the small size. We were there on a busy Saturday night and were seated at a table in the bar area after a 15 or so minute wait. I got the strawberry salad topped with grilled salmon. The salad was delicious and the salmon was very flavorful and cooked perfectly (and I'm very critical of how salmon is cooked). After 25+ years Aubrey's has become an area favorite for most of Knoxville and the surrounding counties. If you want good food at a very reasonable price, look no farther. Recommendations include: the peanut crusted catfish, any burger, the Rooster Grill, or just go with the 4 side dishes. The baked yellow squash, thick cut potato chips, and mac & cheese, are all excellent. Cedar Bluff and Lenoir City are our most common locations. It's was easy to stitch together a solid vegan lunch today; Kale salad (hold the feta) with a side of steamed broccoli. Fair warning - steamed broccoli also has butter on it, so be sure they don't add it although its not listed on the menu with butter. Steamed should be steamed. Lunch, as is typical for Aubrey's, is quite busy. Our party of 10 piled glasses and plates high with no reprieve until the check came. Our server had two large parties so, I'm not sure why she didn't have help. She did her best - an 'A' in effort, but since I am not a millennial, effort doesn't translate into satisfactory service. We sat in the bar area and they brought our appetizer to the table next to us- a couple minutes later the other table told the waiter they didn't order it but had taken a couple bites.
