I've been to this store several times, and I am always so impressed! Everyone is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Whenever I go to the larger, commercial hardware stores, I always find myself feeling overwhelmed or getting lost. Never once have I had that feeling or experience here! You can tell that the store is pretty much one big family (shout out to Mechelle, the store manager/store mom), and they make you feel like you're part of that family, too. I decided to repaint my childhood room and having never painted before, I had no idea what I needed or where to start selecting a color palette. The staff here were wonderful. One lady walked me through all possible techniques, paying attention to the fact that I was a beginner and was also not looking to spend too much money. I must have come into the store 3 or 4 times to ask questions before purchasing a single item and everyone was still respectful and incredibly helpful. I even got advice on the fabric colors and places to go to find cheap but appropriate furniture. It was like having my own interior designer! I ended up buying all of my supplies here even though Lowes/Home Depot are cheaper because the level of knowledge exhibited by everyone at the store was so valuable. (Also Benjamin Moore paint is very very good even at the lowest grade). I plan on staining old furniture and definitely will be back. Also, when I was there they were running a promotion where for every gallon of paint purchased, Hometown would donate money to repainting establishments in the town of Franklin. I went to this store to get advice on paint for my kitchen/hallway and there was only one employee in the store. (Everyone in town knows who he is) I had to approach him instead of him asking if I needed help. He was walking past me hurriedly and when I told him I needed help with paint choices, he stopped and put his hand on his hip and leaned against a display which I took as an impatient stance. He offered no advice with my specific question, but did go to find a color strip I wanted. Then he was off. When I waited at the register to order the paint, he was at a computer, and he never looked up. I was three feet away so I'm sure he knew I was standing there waiting to speak to him. I was already so put off by his earlier behavior that I left the store after waiting there for a full minute without so much as an "I'll be right with you." He lost the sale and I'll never go in there again. The customer service was crap. read more

Aubuchon has recently combined their old location off Union Street and the Hometown Paints into a large new location in the Horace Mann Plaza in Franklin. It is a nicely list spaced and well lit location, and is convenient to a variety of other stores. Nicely done. read more

Never again. I've been getting paint here for 15+ years, but never again. Kristian is completely rude and condescending. Does not like his job and it's obvious. There are too many Ben Moore sellers in the area to put up with his crap. read more

Who the hell likes getting old? Certainly not me. But I guess I ve been a customer here for decades; since it was a store in downtown, run by a married couple, long, long ago. Later, they got a location on a backstreet kind of in back of the Union Cafe off Union Street. I went to that one for years & got to know where everything was exactly. They used to be a dealer of a paint company called Glidden, but I understand they eventually merged with or acquired the Benjamin Moore store in the former CVS building. I consider Moore the best paint but I usually go to Aubuchon for other things, like hardware fasteners, misc. plumbing supplies, glue, masking tape, garden & landscape supplies and all kinds of things. So in keeping with their habit of occupying old drug stores, the merged business moved to a high traffic area near Shaws. If you want to repair a mower or chain saw, or get cleaning supplies, plumbing, electrical, OR paint, this is a great store. For me, their 3rd location, & they remain excellent; better & cheaper than D'Addario Ace. (Rockys Ace in S. Bellingham is better than them) And if you need a few specific nuts & bolts to fix something, you'll NEVER get that at Home Depot or Lowes. The huge stores have their place but they are very time consuming and not always that much cheaper. We are fortunate to have this place; the convenience & service are great. Aubuchon closed a long time store in Foxboro center, which I blame on location & parking, & they previously expanded to Plainville, then soon closed. So I was afraid theyd all be gone. But this one moved to a good spot & I hope it does well despite the super-stores' competition. Highly recommended. read more

Worst Customer Service I have ever received in my entire life! I had worked many times with Todd for paint color suggestions when he worked across the street. He was always a pleasure to work with and very helpful, but not at all this time. He was downright rude to me. I was looking at paint chips when he was helping another customer and that's fine I didn't expect him to drop his work - maybe just an acknowledgement like hey I'll be right with you, but didn't get anything. Then he went over to the other counter to help another customer - still got nothing. So I went over waited patiently behind the nice woman he was helping who had a very large order. I still got nothing - no I'll be right with you or let me get someone else to help you. Totally unacceptable! He then proceeded to help the woman with her order out to her car and called on his earpiece - "there is a customer back here - I guess". I lost it! I said Todd you guess I told him he was so rude and I would never do business with him or that store again. The manager who was walking back to help me (I didn't know she was the manager) I told her not to bother that Todd was so rude to me I wouldn't even want to give this store my business. Then I proceeded to ask her who the manager was she said she was - well then you should have stopped me after I told you how rude your employee was. I live in the area and will be sure to tell friends and family not to go to this store due to the poor customer service I received. read more
