Had a couple of tasty adult beverages & played a few rounds of Gin Rummy before dinner of pizza & salad next door. Plenty of games, clean restrooms indoor & outdoor seating area with heat lamps. We'd brought burritos along to have with a couple of drafted pints from Two Ass. This brewery is a bit of a drive from Sacramento, but gosh darn it, I have really enjoyed each of my visits here. (If I lived closer, I'd be a regular, for sure). They have 3 nice, malty choices to choose from, currently. The English porter, the Marzen, and the Festbier. We chose the two heavier malted ones: the Marzen and the porter. Both are very nice and delicious to accompany our food. I had the porter( I love this style)0 but I have to say that the Marzen has to be the best for example of a Marzen that I've ever had. It is that good. I also got to see and choose a couple of their brewery logo stickers. I find them good fun. I like to cover up the corporate logos on any swag mugs and water bottles with these and make them cool to carry around. Again, I was so glad that our mellow, well-behaved husky was allowed to hang out and chill with us as we enjoyed our beers while listening to the music.

This was such a cool find!…read more We came to town for a family members birthday party and wanted to stop by a brewery for lunch and check out the area. The place was way bigger than what I was expecting! The parking lot is huge, and it was packed! You order your beverage and food at the bar and they pour you your drinks and give you a pager for the food. I was impressed to see the food was coming out of a food truck for how large the venue is. I was drinking the Mexican lager, served with salt and lime. I thought it was super tasty, I liked it a lot. My husband was drinking the hazy ipa which had a pretty high percentage, I believe like a 7.5%! It was surprisingly easy to drink and fruity. Food we ordered the BLT and it was served with house made pickles and potato salad. The potato salad had cheddar cheese inside it, I like that twist. I ordered the pizza pretzel and at first thought $18.50 is pretty steep pricing for a pretzel but let me tell you, the pictures do not do the size justice. It is literally the size of a pizza! So big, covered in mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Came with plenty of dipping sauce too. I loved it, it was so fresh and delicious, and perfect to share! I had more than half leftover to take home! Check this spot out it was pretty rad, they had live music and the vibes were great! We could've hung out here all day perfectly content.

Here's the hard truth, Hillenbrand has really good food and good beer. However, they are chasing away families left and right. Kids are not really welcome at all. The signs posted make it evident. The best seating area is marked with 21 and over on each and every table. I get it. Sometimes it's nice to have an adult only night out. However breweries in the area should decide who they want their customers to be. On a Thursday evening, it should really not be an issue for a family to have a nice night out. The highlight of our night for me was drinking beer out of a plastic cup. For the second round we asked for glassware, but were told we had to buy the glasses to have glassware. When we turned that down, we got a sales pitch for the monthly stein program. Sorry! For the monthly amount they want I'm pretty sure the winery around the corner has a better deal. We also asked if we could bring in our Hillenbrand glasses that we already have the next time to use and the girls behind the bar had no answer. The best part was when the bartender handed over the plastic beer cups and said enjoy your plastic. So the question is, next time we go out on a Thursday night to enjoy a beer and food is it going to be Hillenbrand or the 3 other breweries in the area. Also the girls behind the bar gratefully filled us in to the fact that Hillenbrand is not a brewery but in fact a bar. Too bad Ron wasn't there tonight. PS our two children were very well behaved and stayed by us the entire time we were there.

I got on the phone and Ponderosa cider was so nice and helpful. Gave me a few pointers to come in from the other side. We made it easily. Parking is very limited. Again Ponderosa staff friendly and helpful in letting us know the space we squeezed into would be OK to park in. Dog friendly a bonus for us. I got a nice flight. I love a sampler pack. My favorite ciders were the "Goldilocks" and the "Peach Ginger." I got some of those to take home for my daughter to try. The "Trouble Maker" had a great flavor, but it's not carbonated. It was kind of like a flavored water. They had a few drink choices for designated driver. Biscuits for the dogs. Halloween candy for those who like a treat. . Nice date night for the hubs and me.
