Not sure what the wait staff was doing- they only had like 5 drinks to serve and pizza, but somehow they made each order take a really long time. Just ended up leaving, but the walkways were so crowded with families trying to watch the show in just a tiny bit of shade, that we could barely get out. It was a super crowded event at $33/person, they beed to invest in better infrastructure and management. It was an all around awful experience.

We parked next door in a church parking lot accepting donations fir parking so that made it easy to lug our 10lb bags of mandarins lol. My favorite display was a guy carving wood sculptures with a chain saw. Also had a Reeses's peanut butter mocha and cobbler which were yummy. Unfortunately the mandarins were more tart than sweet so ideally this should have been delayed to prolong the growing season. I tried some deliciously flavorful Mandarin Olive Oil, Balsamic and sweet Orange Blossom Honey from the Colwell Thundering Herd Ranch booth and purchased some cards made by a local artist from the Cloudy Art Studio booth! As well as entered into their raffle to win some beautiful hand towels and cards! For lunch I ordered some deliciously flavorful and perfectly sauced Eggplant Lasagna from Rubinos Ristorante Booth and will definitely be checking out their restaurant in Rocklin now! I would highly recommend attending the festival and don't forget to pick up your free Eggplant before you leave, I cannot wait to try mine and see what next year has in store!

Auburn, CA is also nicknamed "Endurance Capital of the World" due to its popularity with trail running sports enthusiasts. Auburn is also on Placer County Wine Trail. While this area is not as well known as Napa Valley, it offers more relax and less crowded experience. Wineries around here are usually smaller, family-run and independent (not corporate.) Different types of varietals include Italian (Barbera, Sangiovese, Zinfandel); Spanish (Tempranillo); Rhône blends (petite sirah, Syrah, etc); Bordeaux's (Cabernet franc, Malbec, and Sauvignon Blanc).

By the time I hear about the Christmas lights here at Bayside every year, it's too late to get…read moretickets! This year I was on top of it and got a few tickets ahead of time and gave some to friends. They're free to reserve but will get booked within minutes! Each week of tickets is released at a specific time every week so there are multiple chances. We arrived right at our 6pm reservation time. The website explains to enter via bike lane right past the gas station. Google maps led us to the exact spot and you can see the long line of cars in the bike lane and the Christmas lights in the distance so it was easy to spot. The line appears long but it was moving pretty steadily and we got to the beginning of the lights in less than 10 min. Once you get past the entrance they will direct you into an aisle of the parking lot and then those lines take turns entering the drive thru, so after all that I think it was about 15-20 mins until we actually started which wasn't too bad. There are people coming around with concessions and lights/toys before you begin too. The actual lights themselves were really nice! Each section had a theme, such as candy land, Star Wars, etc. and you can tune in to a radio station so the sounds match what you're looking at. I'd say it took no more than 15 minutes to get through the whole thing but it was definitely worth it instead of driving around to one-off houses around town.
