Took my 2018 Subaru to Auburn tire to have a brake inspection done after taking it to a corporate run tire center for a second opinion. The corporate tire center said I needed rear brakes with new calipers and new rotors.. Auburn tire took it out for a road test then put it on the rack came back in and said you don't need brakes. You have 4 mm on the rear and six on the front. Come back in a few thousand miles and we'll change out the rears and turn your rotors. I'm glad I went there because the other place was gonna charge me $658 for work I didn't need to have done. read more

Jeff was very helpful. I called and was told to come over immediately, and without any delay he put my car up on the lift and switched my tires around which solved a vibration problem I had been having. This took about 20 minutes. He took the time to show me what was wrong with the wheel that was causing vibration and explained issue thoroughly and clearly. He was of the utmost professionalism. Had a REALLY bad day including accidently driving over the curb at a local store, in the freezing wind, rain and sleet...and busting my tire! The next day, after life had settled down a bit, I once again called on Auburn Tire Service to help me out. They looked up my records and ordered a new tire for me which was installed (along with the busted tire sensor) that afternoon. When I pulled up, I was immediately greated by 2 young men, ready for me to open the hatchback so they could pull out the tire, now THAT's service! The entire process took less than 30min. I called on a Friday for a tire rotation and alignment. Surprisingly they told me I could bring it in that day but I opted for the following Monday. I dropped my truck off and not even an hour later I got a call from the gentlemen working on my truck with an update and they had a slight issue. Instead of going on about the work he called me to let me know what was going on and to get my permission to proceed because it would be a slight fee increase. The phone call was extremely appreciated because although I had no choice on the next step, it was considerate to let me know in advance and make sure I was ok with what needed to be done as well as a heads up on the pricing. I took my Volkswagen MkV GLI to a common car repair chain for a simple front brake pad replacement. I had some time left in them, but I wanted to deal with it while I had the money. $80 special for pads so, why not? They took my keys, threw it up on the lift, pulled the wheels and then - *GASP* Major issues were revealed! Despite owning the car for less than two years and only putting about 32,000 miles on it, I had destroyed the discs which had to be replaced, as well as the rear pads which were "totally shot". so instead of the $80 front pad replacement, they were telling me it was going to be $850 for a complete overhaul of my brakes. I laughed when they told me and said, I"ll be okay, just the front pads. The manager looked shocked. He told me that my discs were worn dangerously thin (he pulled up VW on his arbitrary computer system and then got out his calipers to to show me.) I asked how that was possible since there was plenty of pad left and rotors looked impeccable. He brought out the calipers again. When I could see I wan't getting anywhere, I told them to put the wheels back on, I would go some place else. By now there were a bunch of people in the waiting room listening to us argue so he was completely unwilling to back down. He then proceeded to yell at me that it 'would be against the law' for him to let me back out on the road in my rolling death trap. I said I would assume all responsibility and if he didn't get me my car back soon, he could explain to the cops that he was just doing his civic duty. read more

Five stars are saved for businesses like Auburn Tire!!! I am a huge fan. Yesterday I visited a national brand tire store in Auburn and got a price quote ($384) and an estimated 2 hour time-frame to replace my two front tires. Two hours for two tires, I could do that myself at home in less time!. I did not have 2 hours so I left. As I drove towards my office, I notice Auburn Tire and turned in. The entire staff (3 behind the counter and 2 in the warehouse at the time) were super friendly. I got a quote ($388 or $4 more than a national brand), they said they had the tire in, and could get to it right away. I did not specificaly ask for a time-frame estimate but noticed my watch. I swear when I tell you that 11 minutes later I was paying the bill and 3 minutes after that I was handed the keys and drove off. Seriously fabulous service in all aspects and 14 minutes in and out. Call them to schedule appointment later in the day while they have tires delivered from Sacramento. 5. I typically don't write negative reviews, but felt this was warranted. I needed new tires for my truck and noticed this place on the way to les Schwab. Les Schwab had a packed parking lot, so I went back to auburn tire (there were no cars in the parking lot). When I walked in, there was 1 lady sitting down waiting. I walked up to the counter and waited. There were three employees, two of which I made eye contact with. After 5 minutes of standing at the counter, I was not greeted or even acknowledged. A simple "hello" or "someone will be with you in a little bit" would've been sufficient, but I didn't even get a second glance. I would've thought I was invisible, had it not been for the initial eye contact. I was really hoping to write a review based on services rendered, but was not given the opportunity to even hear about tires available. Perhaps there was a reason why there was only one vehicle getting serviced, and none in the parking lot. Next time I will take my chances with a long wait for my vehicle to get in, than standing at a counter trying to get acknowledged. In fact, I would be willing to pay double at another establishment. A simple "hello" goes a long way. read more

We had such an over the top experience at Auburn Tire that I just had to write a quick review. We drove from Tahoe to the bay area in the middle of a severe winter storm. We drove over a piece of a chain and got a flat requiring us to put on our spare tire in the middle of this storm. We stopped in Auburn and immediately found Auburn Tire. Jeff looked at our punctured tire and determined that he could patch it versus selling us a new one. Less than $20 and 10 minutes later we were on the road in a now horrific rain storm. My family was on the way back from a ski trip to Tahoe when we got a flat tire. We got the spare on and started looking for a repair shop in the nearby Auburn area. The puncture was in the border line area where they could have very easily recommended a brand new tire, but they were confident enough that they recommended a patch.
