I bought a 2015 RAV-4 in Jan 2024, in 2 days the transmission went and the support arm for the trunk hatch snapped. I brought it back and they offered to replace the transmission but I opted to get another car. Bought a 2019 Jeep Compass from them in Jan 2024 and the touch screen (which controls climate, seat and wheel warmers, and all media) went out in May 2024. I had purchased a warrantee and started the process. I called every week to see when the part would arrive. On Oct 15th 2024 I was told there was a tracking number for the part and it should arrive on Oct 21. Called on the 24th and was told there is no ETA and no tracking number. Tried to call again on Nov 15th and the shop/dealership had been permanently closed along with the corporate office. read more

I wish I could say I loved my experience here but it just want as great as I was hoping. Let's be real, nobody likes the whole car buying experience but I still had hope. It all started off quite well. Communication was great and very clear. Once I made the drive there it went about as smooth as I expected. The first vehicle I wanted sold before I could see it but I had two other options to look at. I tried to bargain a bit and finally worked on the one I really wanted. There were some cosmetic issues I wanted taken care of and I was given the ok for it by the manager. I left and had to come back. When I came back nothing I asked for was fixed or addressed and they didn't have the title which meant I would have to come back a third time once it arrived. That was a nnoying because if I didn't mention it, each trip there, I was coming from Niagara Falls. So, it was annoying that they sold me a vehicle they didn't have a title for and I had to drive around with dealer plates. They offered to pay for a tank of gas upon my return. So I drove out and yes they filled up the tank from there but I had to drive home and still fill it up myself. I really disliked the way in which things were done overall and I can't say I would reccomend this place to anyone. I'm happy with my vehicle because I know the market is tough right now but I'm reminded of why I don't like car shopping. Hopefully I won't have to do this again for a very long time. read more

We recently found out that our old car needed to be fixed, AGAIN, and decided that it was starting to become a money sink. So we embarked on dreaded journey of used car shopping. I asked a few trusted people, and one of them said that they had always heard good things about Auction Direct. So it was the first place that we stopped! We met a young salesman named Cody, and he was really great. Patient (despite how much of his time we stole, and it was A LOT), friendly, and knowledgable. We went on somewhere between 5-10 test drives over the course of two visits. He came in on his day off to help us figure it out. We ended up approved for an auto loan, but we couldn't decide on a vehicle. He told us that they have a 5 day return policy (for any reason). He also worked with us to lower the payment a couple of interest points, which would have saved us $30 a month. There is an extra bumper to bumper warranty that sounded really great too, if you have the extra to put toward it! The lot was huge, and they had a really nice selection of vehicles. I loved how up front they were about each one - there were papers with info on every window that had vehicle details and price, free car fax reports and links to KBB values right on the website listings. I also loved that it wasn't a "traditional" feeling used car lot. More casual, with much better ambience. In the end we ended up leasing a new vehicle instead, but based on our experience here I would absolutely definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the market for a used vehicle! read more

The vehicle mechanically works great however after taking it to a body shop for a repair they brought it to my attention that the vehicle appears as if it was in a major accident, which was NOT disclosed to me at the time of purchasing the vehicle. If you do purchase from this dealership ensure to have the car inspected inside and out from a third party mechanic/body shop. Check the other reviews where others experienced the same issue. If I were you I would go to actual dealership backed by the manufacturer and not trust this dealership. I bought a car from this place. Less than 6 months after I had to take the car back for service. I've had to take the car there 4 times and they couldn't find the problem. Now I had to take the car back for a 5th time. The gas tank was rusted. They called me and said the insurance I bought isn't gonna pay to replace it. That is gonna be $1,800. I told them that I haven't had that car for a year and that they sold me that car rusted already. They basically told me that is my problem and that I could come pick up the car. Really bad service. But, in the "fee disclosures" the printed purchase agreement states that the 'maximum processing fee is $75 and a special processing fee $5 maximum'. Stupid me, the salesman crossed out the $75 and wrote in $175! Yes, I quickly scribbled my I initials, so I'm stuck for the $100. I was sold a warranty that they said would cover my engine and powertrain. Well what they actually sold me was a headache because if the exact part that fails isn't mentioned in the warranty paper it isn't covered. Do yourself a favor. Run. The service department doesn't want to work on your vehicle while under warranty and only when they can charge you to fix your vehicle. Auction Direct - Victor NY We bought our 2017 Nissan Murano at this dealership, located in Victor, NY in April of last year. We were sold the vehicle, only to have a flat tire on our way home right after we bought it. Not a big deal, right? Well that's just the first issue. Next, we were never given a spare key. We didn't think of it at first, when we did inquire about it, they told us we'd have to purchase it from them. Lastly, The vehicle was not sold with a Sim Card in the back of the radio. Why is this a big deal? Because without the Sim Card; blue tooth is unavailable. Navigation is unavailable. The clock on the radio cannot be set. You cannot save any radio stations. You cannot even save your phone into the system in order to play music on it. It makes the charging ports in the car unworkable. So she can't speak on Bluetooth, she can't charge her phone, she can't listen to music on her phone, she can't even save basic radio stations. It took almost two months for them to get a sim card in for the vehicle. Fast forward two months, the sim card comes in. They ask if we'd like to physically pick the sim card up or if we'd like them to mail it to us. We chose the mail option. Low & behold, you have to take the entire stereo system apart in order to get the SIM card installed into the system. Not once did they ever offer to do that for us. Not one time was that ever an option, and to be honest I have no idea how to do it myself. I wouldn't even know where to start. Ok so now we're in June. My wife, Laura was pregnant, we're both working full time & being full time parents to our then 2 year old son. My uncle died last summer during a trip he took to Disney world with his son. We grieved that during the summer. Then during the winter, Laura's mother gets sick with covid. She gets so sick that she goes on a ventilator and later passes away in the hospital. We also got sick with covid; Me, Laura & our 2 sons. We were sick with covid while trying to comprehend what the hell just happened with her beautiful mother. That lead to months upon months upon months of sadness, depression, dispare. Needless to say, a sim card was one of the last things on our mind during this past year. Finally things get back to being "semi-normal" again. A couple weeks ago, Laura brings her car into a mechanic because she had a check engine light on. While her car's at the mechanic she decides to have them put the SIM card in. But no; its the wrong SIM card. Auction Direct sent us the wrong sim card. Ok, no worries; we'll just call & ask them if they could simply send us the correct one. We didn't ask them to install it, we just asked for the right sim card. Auction Direct tells her "No its been too long & our employees have to get paid. We can't order an extra sim card because it's been too long & we can't order a new part." I then play phone tag with Christine for the last 10 or so days. Finally I spoke to her today at 3:11 PM. She tells me they will absolutely not order the correct sim card & there's nothing they can do to help us. I tell her "Okay I'll be contacting corporate offices." She proceeds to laugh at me. This woman actually laughed when I told her I'd contact their corporate/district offices. Bottom line - I recommended this place to Laura (my wife). That turned out to be the most dreadful recommendation I've ever made in my life. Also, I'm trying to warn other people out there. If you want good service, do not goto Auction Direct. If you've ever loved for or even cared for Laura or myself, do not goto Auction Direct. I'm not the type of person to ever write a bad review. I don't think I ever have before. I arrived here this morning for a service appointment on my grandfathers car. The gentleman who greeted me on my arrival was really nice, the place is clean and waiting room is comfortably layer out. All of that being said, I was a little unimpressed (and unfortunately not surprised) by the additional services needing to be done to the car. We've had my grandfather's car serviced, updated and kept up on a regular basis- never missing oil changes, tune-ups, maintenance needs, etc... So when we noticed that the air condition didn't seem to be working right it was suggested for us to bring it in to the shop prior to the Winter season to get fixed (cost approx $170), no problem- made the appointment and went to get it fixed. While waiting for the service to be done I was called up to the desk and informed that while they were working on the new air conditioner part a hose busted while compressing the air (?) and needed to be an additional fix ( approx. $80 more dollars) -- I know things happen but really?? That's an additional 50% more added to the original estimate. Is this my fault? Is this something out of both of our controls? Maybe I would be reacting differently had the Rep not acted as if it was no big deal and the money was nothing-- maybe to him it's not but to us-- it is. I purchased a car in May 2021 from Auction Direct in Victor NY. It "worked" for the summer. I needed a few strange repairs done but was ok with those. Then October 12th 2021 a check engine light came on. The next day it would not start. It was towed to my mechanic and then sent to the Mitsubishi dealership. Turns out the engine was broken from wear and tear. It needed replacement that would total $6800 and I did plenty of research, that was indeed how much it would take. The car was around $7000 also. I'm a student so it's not possible to either fix the car or buy a new one now until graduation. I got regular oil changes and in my care, the car was very well taken care of. The wear and tear on the engine was most likely from the past owner, yet it was still sold. I wouldn't go here or trust them. read more

Purchased a car from here and everything went pretty well in that process, after owning the car for a little over a month, the engine had been having major problems, another thing is they cut break pads to fit for my back wheel, when my mechanic took a look at it he said he was surprised they'd take such a shortcut to save money as well. Absolutley terrible place to purchase a car from. In December 2021 I purchased a car from them (paid cash) I also purchased the extended warranty (paid for the entire three years upfront). In May I started having trouble with the car starting, but was able to eventually get it started so I didn't complain. Last week (8/1/2022) the car completely died. I called the service department and the lady was extremely nasty with me. She even told me that it would take them 6 weeks to even take a look at it. I had it towed there anyway. I went two days ago to remove the batter but it wasn't easy. As I was removing it I noticed glue all over the battery terminal and on the battery. I took the batter to Autozone today that they informed me that first, it was the wrong size battery for the car, and second, the battery was no good and that someone glued the terminal to the battery cable which is why it doesn't work. The laughed so hard at Autozone as they explained to me that this was a total mess and I'm lucky because it could have gotten worse. The car wasn't correctly connected to the batter(the cable was glued to the battery because it was the wrong battery, which explained why it wouldn't jump) and a spark would have short my entire electrical circuit. Now I have a $18,000 piece of metal that doesn't work and even though I paid for an extended warranty, I have 5 weeks left before they will even raise the hood and look at it the problem they are personally responsible for. After 7 months of owning a car I paid cash for, I can't drive it. I was robbed during the time of sale, I was robbed when I purchased the extended warranty and I was robbed when I called to get it fixed. Customer service is absolutely horrible!!!!! PLEASE NEVER PURCHASE A CAR FROM THEM. BBB will be contacted today. read more

The sales reps that I worked with were really friendly, and I never felt pressured into anything. I was given as much time as I wanted to walk around and browse without being hassled. The prices of the vehicles that I viewed were competitive with other places that I had previously looked. I was also offered a very fair offer for my trade in. Once I had chosen the car I wanted, they explained the various warranty options and suggested ones that would best fit my budget. The customer service that I encountered here was superb. Worst experience ever. The car wasn't checked before we bought it in March. It was leaking oil and because of covid, we couldn't get it in until beginning of May. They finally diagnosed a couple of bad seals. Then one thing led to another and it needed motor mounts and a torque converter, and they were telling us they were going to put the repairs on our extended warranty. Over the course of 4 months it was in for repair 4 1/2 weeks. I left over 15 messages for the GM to please call me so we could work something out. He finally calls and tells me that the car will be ready by Friday. We didn't even want the car by then. He told me he'd meet with us at the dealership the next day and never showed up. The week leading up to the delivery of the car my salesperson failed to reply to my text, voicemail, and email and the morning of delivery he called and says "we have a minor problem, we can't find the keys to the car". This is after I had originally went to test drive a car there but couldn't because, shockingly, they couldn't find the keys to that car. I was prepared to walk away even though the car itself was great. He called back not long after stating that "they found the key". I asked what happened to the other key, there were two sets and I expressed that since it was advertised with both, I expected to leave with two sets. They agreed to write an IOU for the company "Pop-a-lock" (who were wonderful in trying to get a spare key made for me but were unable because it is a VW pushstart, so I don't get a spare after all) I show up for delivery already pretty unimpressed with how this transaction was going and was sadly not surprised when I arrived to find none of the paperwork for the sale had been started and I sat there for an extra 45 minutes hoping to god I was making the right decision to go through with this sale. Knock on wood, the car and my 1 key have been great so far and I hope it remains because I don't think I could handle having to get the car serviced there if that level of customer service translated over to the service department. I purchased an additional warranty that covers major repairs with no cost if done there but $100 fee if I use a different repair shop. I'm almost sure that I would be more comfortable eating the $100 to have work done elsewhere. I never received any follow up from my sales person. STAY AWAY. Summary: 1. Auction Direct employees abuse cars that they do not own (i.e., yours). 2. Auction Direct employees lie to your face when the evidence of their lie is painfully obvious. 3. Auction Direct management do not respond to formal complaints. Long story: We took our car (an 06 WRX which we took exceptional care of) here for a simple appraisal. An appraisal: how could they possibly mess that up, right? The individual that they had appraise the car chatted with us briefly and then went out to see the car while we waited inside. It was supposed to take 15 minutes; ended up being more like 40. Okay, whatever .. I can deal with that. When he finally got back in, he gave us their numbers, and then kept wanting to chat it up with us, which I thought was weird because it was obvious that their numbers were less than what we had been offered elsewhere already. But he kept stalling to keep us there, which we thought was weird. So about 15 minutes after he returned with the car, start it up, and when the blower came on it REEKED of clutch. He either 1.) does not know how to drive a manual, or 2.) willingly abused our car on a joyride. I went back in to ask this man-child what exactly he DID to my car, and he claimed (in a voice about three octaves higher than normal voice) "I drove it normally!!". So now he's obviously lying to my face. Nice, real nice. For the next week that I had the car, the clutch was slipping all wrong. He did some serious damage to it. I had driven the car spiritedly hundreds of times and never did damage to the clutch during the years I owned it ...because I know how to drive a manual, and I'm not an ass-hat like this Auction Direct employee. A few days ago I recommended this place to a family member and to hear how they were treated is an EMBARRASSMENT. Not only did the manager lose those customers today, they lost a customer in me and will NEVER get a recommendation from me again. In fact, I will make sure to tell people to avoid Auction Direct at all costs. The manager seemed like he did not want to sell this car to my family member. He lost a customer willing to buy THEN AND THERE over $200. If his demeanor and professionalism was even slightly acceptable, then we would not have been bothered over $200. So i got a new car last tuesday doing a trade in by the sales person keith. he was cool. this is my second car from this place so I expected good. Got the new car, the next day check engine light came on and my car locked up on the highway on my way to work. Thank God I work down the street from this dealership. Tried calling the salesperson to figure out what is going on, he did not answer until the next day and thank God, I could take it up there sooner the same day i called about the light on the mechanics told me to come in the next day and get it checked. Fast foward, Scott the mechanic guy made sure I got a rental until they fixed the car and I was outraged!!!! How a whole car has lights coming on NOT EVEN 24 HRS OF GETTING THE NEW CAR!!!! So i drove the rental for the night and got a call the next morning they said they fixed everything and made sure the car was test droven before giving it back to me. Its been driving good and its been a week now of me having my new car. But the next day Keith texted me acting concerned i was busy and didnt even write back but thanks for fixing the problem and making sure it was all okay. Managers are beyond rude. And it would appear that they sell a vehicle without ever even checking it over... Bought an SUV and had to replace the front and rear wipers the next day. Tire had a hole in it. Brake light was falling off after 2 days. They installed a sunroof screen, ripped the screen and RUINED the car interior after claiming they needed to keep it longer to clean it. Don't buy here. So so bad. Update: The vehicle began to smell like burning oil by the end of January. Then began run poorly (sputtering and shaking) by the beginning of February (purchased Mid December) so we took it to a private dealer we trust to check it over. Found the rear seal of the engine is broken. The service manager there said, "This had been busted and leaking for quite some time, AD should have noticed this". Took it back to Auction Direct who sent it to a VW dealer for a total engine replacement. This took 5 weeks. We got the car back and the next night my fiance was stranded at work because it would not start. Used 2 jump boxes, nothing. Had it towed back to AD again and had the battery replaced. Now, its the beginning of April (we've had the car back for about 2 weeks) and we're driving down the road with our children- bam! Transmission is gone. Luckily we were on a back road with no traffic so we called AD for a tow yet again. 4 days later we are now informed we need a whole new transmission. I honestly can't even believe the situation. The guys in the service department have been somewhat apologetic but at this point it doesn't make a difference. I just want a car that runs for more than a week! And during this whole debacle we have heard not a word from management. That's just bad business. If I sold someone a POS and it had been in the shop longer than in the person's possession I might give a call or email to try to apologise. But no. I just feel that for a dealer with a full service department they could have actually inspected the vehicle before selling it, caught these issues and saved us both a lot of time, money and sanity. Bottom line: don't be enticed by their large selection, buy anywhere else. read more
