Dear Mr. Hausnann, This letter is to memorialize and request your written confirmation regarding the ongoing repairs to the infotainment system, navigation system through Apple CarPlay, rear camera viewing on such infotainment system, and the crackling of the speaker system. This vehicle described above was leased and picked up from Ray Catena Audi of Freehold on or about June 12, 2026. From the moment it was picked up we had issues with the phone connecting to the car and once connected disconnecting from Apple CarPlay while driving. This created an unsafe driving situation as when we were relying on the navigation while driving on the highway or New York City, the phone would disconnect and we would have no idea where we were going. Additionally, the screen would suddenly go dark while we were driving and the only way to get the screen back was to reset the system while driving. This also created a dangerous driving condition. Once the system rebooted, the phones would have to be reinstalled on to the system and every time the system would reboot, or we would get in the vehicle it was like "Ground Hog Day" with the system resetting and everything having to be reprogrammed. This also created a dangerous driving condition. Furthermore, the infotainment screen would be prone to just go dark and if we were in reverse, we could not longer use the rear camera while going in reverse. Yet another dangerous driving condition. I called the dealer to complain on several occasions and spoke to Jack Scribellito who walked me through several steps to try and troubleshoot the system. When it could not be corrected an appointment was made for service of the vehicle. On Friday, August 14, 2026, a representative from Ray Catena drove to my house and dropped off a loaner car, a 2026 Audi Q3, for us use and took the above vehicle to Ray Catena service to have the system corrected. On or about August 18, 2026, I spoke to Billy Hausnann, our service representative, who told me that the issue was more complicated than expected and that it required the matter to be upgraded for Audi corporate in Germany as only they could fix the programming which needed to be repaired. I was told that this should be done within a day or two. On Friday, August 21, 2026, I again called Billy Hausnann (twice) and was told that they still had not heard from Audi in Germany and that it could take some time. I must add that in describing their attempts to get in touch with Audi in Germany, I was told that it is not easy as they are "far away". Now last I checked, getting in touch with Europe is not like getting in touch with a remote part of Antarctica. I was told to keep the loaner car through the weekend and that it should be fixed by Monday, August 24, 2026, or Tuesday, August 25, 2026. It is now Tuesday, August 25, 2026, and having not heard from Billy Hausnann, I decided to call him. I was told he was out to lunch, and he would call me later. By copy of this email, I would also request to be provided with the address of Audi Corporate so I can get my certified letter prepared and ready to send to them. To say this vehicle and the response of Ray Catena Audi of Freehold is a disappointment would be a total understatement. Prior to leasing this Audi I had five Infiniti vehicles and the only time they were brought in for service was when it was a regular maintenance service. We are now on day twelve (12) of this vehicle being in for service and there is still no answer on when or how the vehicle will be repaired. I intend to post this letter today and update every day on each website I can warning people about the Audi Q3 and the lack of responsiveness from this dealership. As I previously stated I have leased five Infiniti vehicles from a Ray Catena dealership and this level of service is an embarrassment to his name and legacy. read more

Booked this location specifically for the availability of a courtesy car and they didn't have one available when I arrived on time for my appointment. They could have called before I drive 30 mins and make me aware ahead of time allowing me to reschedule if needed. This courtesy would have been appreciated. I will say that Freehold waiting area is better than Bell which is closer to me by 15 mins. Freehold location has a cafe with better coffee options and such (even after both had renovations). If stuck waiting, those little extras matter. read more

I setup an appointment more than a week in advance for my car. I informed at the time of making appointment that I will not be able to wait for the car.I was told I would get a loner car. Drove all the way to freehold for the appointment to be told that they don't have a loner car for me, while loners were being given to other customers. Very unprofessional, they could have informed me ahead of time if they were not going to give the loner, wasted my day. My family and I have leased 3-4 cars from Audi Freehold over the last decade. The last one was an Audi Q5 that came off lease in 2024 and, for the first time, we ended up purchasing the car. I subsequently purchased an extended Warranty from Audi Freehold (i.e., 84 Months/70,000 Miles) in January 2025. We have always taken our leased Audi cars, including this Audi Q5, to Audi Freehold for all routine/required service. After purchasing this Q5, we went to Audi Freehold in June 2025 for routine service and to investigate why the dashboard indicator light was going on. Audi Freehold told us that the dashboard indicator light was going on because the Comfort Module and related wires were corroded/damaged and, therefore, needed to be replaced. Apparently, this issue was caused by the sunroof drains becoming clogged and water draining into the back of the trunk where the Comfort Module was located. They gave me a quote for approximately $6,600 to replace the comfort module and to repair the damaged wires. I asked whether this type of repair was covered under the Extended Warranty that we had purchased earlier in the year and was told that it was not. I also asked why Audi Freehold did not check the drains when we brought the car in for periodic service and did not get a reasonable answer. We then did a google search and learned that, at a minimum, there have been recalls/issues with earlier models of the Audi Q5 (i.e., the sunroof drains becoming clogged, causing water damage). So, it is reasonable to expect: (a) anyone performing service on these cars, including the Audi Freehold Dealership, would have known that there is the potential for the sunroof drains to become clogged, and (b) Audi Freehold would have checked and made sure that the sunroof drains were cleaned (i.e., not clogged) as part of the routine service they had performed on this car. After learning it would cost $6,600 to have Audi Freehold fix the issue, I refused to have them repair the car. I then: (i) Terminated the Audi Extended Warranty and requested a pro rata refund for the unused portion of the Extended Warranty. I subsequently received such refund. (ii) Brought the car to an auto mechanic (i.e., Nationwide Auto Group ("NAG") in East Windsor, NJ). I explained the issue to NAG and they ended up replacing the damaged Comfort Module with an entirely new one and they also fixed the damaged wires. NAG charged me $1,860 to fix the issue, which was approx. $4,700 cheaper than the quote provided by Audi Freehold. Bottom line. This was a very disappointing experience with Audi Freehold. My family and I will no longer do business with Audi in general, and Audi Freehold, more specially. read more

Bought a new car, when the plates came in they said they don't ship them to me so I had to come into the dealership to get them. When I did, they told me not to put the front license plate on because it would mess up the aesthetic and potentially damage the sensors. It's required to have a plate on the front of your car in NJ, so they're basically asking me to break the law and risk a ticket/fine every day because they're too lazy to put in a couple of screws. The bracket came with the car and I already did most of the work coming in to pick the plates up, you can't just screw them in? Finally I insisted they put them on, but overall I just get the feeling like they're just like every other car dealership, trying to take advantage of a woman and weasel out of doing 5 mins of work. This is our 4th Audi we've bought here but I definitely get the sense that they wouldn't have given my husband this load of Bs about it messing up the sensor. My last Audi had a front plate. My husband got one last year here, it has a front plate. If a front plate truly messes up the grill or sensors on my car, then I guess this will be the last Audi I ever buy. It probably will be the last one I buy at this dealership. Although frankly all car dealerships are the same, the way they take advantage of women. Don't even get me started on the way they "encouraged" me to get all new tires when my last car only had 20k miles. read more

Let me start if I could have put 0 I would have . this dealership acts like they are the only one on the planet . I booked an appointment thru their website which had a special for service and did ask if I wanted to have a loaner car , so I booked it . surprise when I came in . there no specials and no loaner cars either . Service rep told me we dont have loaners and we can get you out in an hour , as fars as the special he told me you should have printed out. This not the first time I had an issue with this dealership . First was when I bought the car . Delivery was horrific . Plastic was taken off , car not detailed ,roof racks not installed . BUYER BEWARE ! I tried to buy a used Audi on 12/11/23 from Catena Audi in Freehold NJ. It was a 2016 Audi S5 with low miles and a manual transmission listed on line with "call the dealer for pricing". Audi Freehold is seriously asking over $20,000. over full retail KBB Book price. Having a no longer available manual transmission and low miles I expected a slightly higher price but for a Franchise Dealer to simply exhibit GREED and ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE is appalling and ludicrous, especially to a long time Audi owner and enthusiast ! I made an offer of nearly $4,000. over retail book and the salesperson just laughed at me. I reminded him that it is an 8 year old Audi with a transmission that perhaps 80% of the population no longer even knows how to drive. I then told him to have a nice day and hung up. 2 weeks ago I went tit this dealership just to look at the car, test drive a few. However, I had already made up my mind on how much I want to put down and how much I want to pay monthly for a car besides all other perks that car shall have. And the staff was AMAZING! And by staff, I mean managers and sales rep as well! They have provided the greatest customer service to me: not only did they offered me a car that was in my budget (actually a bit below that) but also had everything that I needed in it as well. My sales rep was Greg Dickson and this man did awesome job and he knowledgeable in Audi and Volkswagen as well. And he did help out a lot on every aspect of picking out the car. BUYER BEWARE!!!! This dealership is definitely not customer oriented. They are big money oriented. I leased my first (used) Audi from Ray Catena Audi in Freehold. I was so excited. After the lease went through, within a month, I started having issues with my car including a chipped window that I had only just noticed. I went to have windshield repaired through an outside vendor who told me the chip had already been filled. When I called Audi of Freehold, I was initially told by Steve, Sales Manager, that my windshield would be replaced as they knew about the chip prior to leasing the car to me. When I brought it back to the dealer, I was told that the chip was small (started to spider) and they wouldn't be doing anything about it. Steve backtracked and told me he didn't tell me it would be replaced. Also, the tailgate gets stuck closed with the dashboard light telling me it is open. The front doors don't lock and unlock appropriately, etc. I am soooooo disappointed in Audi of Freehold. I can't wait until my three and a half year lease is done. Also, I was told by two other Audi dealerships, that I went to in order to see if I can trade it in, that I was ripped off. I have spoken with 3 different people from service coordinator, to service personnel, and now service manager. I was given three different price quotations from a No charge (just bring in vehicle to have it reset) to $50 charge to reset it by the next young lady on the phone I was transferred to, and than to $189 for 1 hour of service by the service manager. While there is no issue at all with my vehicle which just had a complete servicing done. Makes no sense that no one really knows what's going on. Poor customer service and no reliability. read more

I have never had a good experience there. Three times i attempted to buy cars there and for different reasons i left and bought Audis at different dealerships. I do have my cars serviced at Freehold Audi so was very surprised when I called and was told that they can not take my A7 lease back since I bought it at another dealer and they "currently don't have any room". I called Monmouth Audi and they said of course no problem they will take it back for me. I am done with Freehold Audi. I visited this dealership to find their pricing for similar products to be priced above the norm for similarly equipped vehicles. The staff was polite and friendly and will low ball an offer to you for your trade but expect top dollar for their vehicle. The reason stated when asked regarding the large price differences was that because they don't sell other manufacturers previously owned vehicles and the "data" dictates the price, that is the reason for their offer. I used Nadaguides which is the closest to real time data I can find. I will purchase elsewhere irrespective of the distance. Reasons are reasons and simply do your research. read more

My car had an alternator recall. We brought it in, and the service department told us this was a fleet wide issue, it will be months before we get our car back and that we should NOT bother to call for an update, they'll let us know what the work is complete. They offered a loaner, which was a car lesser than what we leased. I was not happy with this an call customer service as the dealer absolved themselves from the global issue...lead us to believe that customer service would accommodate. I spent HOURS on the phone with CS. I thought we should be compensated for time without the car we were paying for monthly and for the inconvenience. I wanted to have my lease payments cancelled for the time I didn't have the car. CS said let's see how long you don't have your car....we can more fairly compensate when you get your car back. Four months later, we got our car back (which went back in within a month for another recall...this time for 1 week), I attempted to settle with CS as they suggested..they basically dragged the process on until my last payment was made 7 months after we got our car back...and offered nothing. They did not have a definitive resolution until literally the day after they received my last lease payment. They waited until I had absolutely no control to deliver a final resolution...completely calculated and slimy. They did nothing but patronize me until that moment. I've lease cars for the past 30 years...mostly BMW and Mercedes....this was my first Audi..and it will be my last. read more

The only thing that exceeds this dealer's pompousness is its sheer idiocy. Yesterday my wife and I drove up in my 6 series BMW and asked to test drive the RS5. I'm not sure if they were aware of my current vehicle but it would be hard to miss it since there wasn't another customer at the dealership. The salesman seemed pleasant enough but keep us waiting and failed to engage in any of the typical small talk such as our occupation, current vehicle, price range and time frame, etc. He finally returned to us and stated the sales manager wanted to "vet" us before the test drive as they didn't want to put "unnecessary miles" on the vehicle as a buyer of such a vehicle "insists on 0 miles". Did we understand the lease would be "1400-1500$/month?"? I was dumbfounded. My wife made reference to our current vehicle at which point the salesman seemed more interested. I refused to say another word and left the dealership. FYI my wife and I are physicians and can buy his and hers RS5s with pocket change if we so desired. Maybe we look younger and don't carry the pretentious manner of a typical buyer of such a vehicle? In other words we are nice down to earth people. Not sure why the person below said you can't get a loaner unless you purchased a vehicle from them. I brought my 2010 A6 and 2016 A6 to them to work on. Both were purchased places other than Audi Freehold and I received a loaner every time I went. I now have a 2016 S6 which is being serviced by them. They recently replaced both turbos on my S6 due to a TSB and I had the loaner almost a month, placed a bunch of miles of it to and from work, and they had nothing but smiles when I returned it. The staff is great. They are knowledgeable and spend time to answer your questions or just talk cars. I'm on my 5th Audi and I find this dealership to be the best of the bunch. read more

Purchased a used Audi in mid-2019. All seemed to be fine. The usual dealership routines. Took delivery and was told that "We owe you a second key". I have called, emailed, visited several times and it's now January - still no key. On top of that, this week I needed to check and rotate my tires. I will not go to their service department. So the shop I brought the car to calls and asks where the wheel lock key is...well it is NOT in the car. So I call Audi Freehold, and they tell me I have to BUY a new one - $37. Being pressed for time, I paid for it and left. This is NOT over...I will be demanding a refund and a new key (once again). Next, they gave me a completely ridiculous low-ball offer on my trade-in, which was $3200 less than a CASH buy-outright offer from another dealer I saw perhaps 250 new cars sitting on their lot and now I realize why they aren't accepting the 2019s until November...they can't possibly sell their inventory given these practices. read more
