Walked in on sat. Professionally dressed (but overly perfumed) lady gauged my interest and directed me to Joseph to "assist" me. After learning about my interest and I bought up money discussion fairly early as my time is precious, he clearly lost all interest in assisting me. Road test of Q5 felt like largely a formality. More like very short driving lesson than a chance to run a LUXURY car thru it's paces. I was very clear in my interest in upgraded model, but demo was in most basic model they had. Asked about what are virtual cockpit what it's functions are, Joseph only brought me to car which had it and said "Here it is". That's it. I felt like Joe is curmudgeon Luddite. Hardly great fit for such technology forward company as Audi. I'm not sure if my next car would be Audi or not, but I will not be returning to same dealership. read more

No loaners during service unless you buy vehicle from them! Called to schedule a service appointment with Audi Freehold. This is my first Audi I've purchased. After taking all my info and scheduling I was told that it is company policy that loaners are only for customers that have purchased a vehicle there. I've had no issues getting a loaner while servicing my prior 3 Infiniti's at Ray Catena in Edison even though they weren't purchased there. Ended up scheduling with Bell Audi of Edison without issue. read more

Worst service department ever! Had to go back 4 times for a recall .... they messed more things up than before i have the puddle lights and they did something where didn't work and had to go back yet again...and my tires are nitrogen and I was low and I was told they don't have that equipment to fill them for me.... but they have Starbucks coffee... whooptido.... I'm going somewhere else when my car is do for my upgrade and that is very soon. Great Facility but Basic service rates like Oil Changes, etc are outrageously expensive. $160.00 for an oil change. I needed to replace the rear drain tubes of the pano roof. 2 rubber tubes, I was quoted $1000+. LOL. Got it done for $300 somewhere else (parts + labor). read more

The sales staff is not the problem at Freehold Audi , the service department is the worst I have ever seen . Called twice no one picks up . I go there and they gave me a service rep who had no interest in helping . I leave my tire to be replaced under warranty . I had to ask the guy to get someone to take it out of my vehicle . He does not call me ,and does not return my calls so I left a message for a manager to call . The manager was not helpful other than to get the lazy service rep to call me back . He tells me I need to call the Eatontown Audi which I should not have to do . I come back to get my tire and the lazy tech has no interest in putting the tire in my truck . I paid $70,000 for my car to get crap service I wont be back to Freehold Audi . read more

Ray Catena would not the match the price on a similarly equipped competitors Audi. The competitor's vehicle had more options than Ray Catenas Audi, yet 3k cheaper. A day later, the competitor's car was sold. I should've just went with my gut feeling and purchased the vehicle from the other dealer. A week later I get a phone call from the RC sales person saying they'll do the deal for 500 more than the price I negotiated on the competitor's vehicle. A manager than calls me and tries to convince me to purchase the vehicle. She said Ray Catena would honor the deal that I that was given by the salesperson (still at 500 more). I agree to the price. She then talks to another manager and he says that he can't honor it. It's fine that they couldn't match the price. However, the run-around that I was given shouldn't have happened at a supposed "reputable" dealer. read more

Gave us a runaround during the purchase of the car, then offered a first oil change for free, on paper in black and white, then said they didn't when the car was brought in for service. Drove up and parked in clear visible view of everyone on a Thursday. It was a slow day so they weren't busy. I had an old 2006 eclipse and I was legit ready to buy. Long story short me and my friend were at the dealership for half an hour and nobody even went up to us to say hi or nothing. The only person to say hi to us was the guy washing one of the cars. I guessed since my eclipse didn't meet their standards and ignored me. So my friend and I decided to drive to Edison and look for cars there. Went to just look... I ended up getting helped at the Audi in Edison and bought a used 2013 a6. Better customer service, I see why Edison is number 1 now. read more

My husband and I went to the Audi Freehold to look for an RS5. My husband drives a 6 series BMW and his lease us up in April, so he is looking for a new car, and was very interested in the RS5. The salesman showed us the car and talked with us for about 10 minutes or so. When we asked to test drive it, he disappeared for about 10 minutes then came back and told us that the manager needed to "vet" us to see if we were truly interested in or capable of getting a car that would cost $1400-1500 month. He did not want to waste any mileage on the car, as people truly interested in the car want 0 miles on it, per this salesman. When I mentioned that my husband drives a 6 series BMW, he perked up and said oh, is that his car outside? All of a sudden we were slightly more worthy of their efforts. At this point we were completely insulted and just left. By the way, we are both doctors and make more than enough to get this car. We will never go back to this rude and snobbish dealership, and would recommend that any one that goes there wear a Rolex and bring your tax return to show your worth! read more

The day after giving my credit card to hold the vehicle, I'm told that it was sold. I agreed to a different color combination. I was promised that the car would be waiting for me by 7pm. Later I was told that wasn't the case, it wouldn't be there after 9. I was being spoken down to, being told that I would never find a deal like this. At one point I was suggested that I buy a Mercedes. I was told by Kiki that his management has his back. As a previous Ray Catena customer, and a member of their referral program, I'm very surprised the way I was treated. When you buy a new car, you want to have a positive experience. First I would like to say if Steve Raducha Sales manager from Freehold Audi approaches you run the other way he is a shady salesman. Here's my story my Audi A3 Convertible Lease was expiring And I start getting multiple calls a day from freehold Audi to come in and trade in the car as they have great deals for me. After coming to the dealership me and my wife fell in love with A4 Audi. We informed the salesman that we have Low rim Tires.That have formed a bubbles.Due to the pot-holes, we are all facing In New Jersey roads.And that I have already replaced the tires three times.The dealer said we should not worry about the damaged tires as Dealership will most likely buy the car as Audi has stopped making A3 convertibles and it will be in the high demand.Today I found out that freehold Audi is buying the car but the Audi inspection will cost me $700 for damaged tires and scratched rims.When I spoke to Steve Raducha Sales manager said that the new policy is Audi finance needs to inspect the car before dealership can purchase it Why do they need Audi finance to inspect the car if they are buying it. Also he was very rude and shady by telling me to go deal with Audi finance ourselves it's not dealership problem any more. Just be careful what the dealership promises you before you buy the car from them they will find anyway to charge you extra so they could make more money. read more

Saturday November 17th, beautiful day to look at cars. My family stop by the Audi of Freehold, beautiful place I must say. We found a park, got out and started to look around with plans on purchasing a vehicle. I was taking back by the lack of customer service. After being on the lot for about 30 minutes browsing not one sales person came out to greet me or even if i needed to help. I even went to the ladies room and no one inside asked me if I was being help or if I was looking for anything in particular. Over the past years, I have bought a few cars through the Catena dealerships. The last car I bought was a Mercedes. In that purchase, I went to another Mercedes dealership and shopped price. When I went back to Catena, the first price they gave me was several thousand more than the other dealer. When i showed them the paperwork, after two hours, then finally beat the price. The point of this is that when I went to buy an Audi, I called the Catena Audi dealership and explained what happened. I told them to give me their best price because I was going to other Audi dealers. They gave me a price and told me the was "some wiggle room." The next Audi dealership was $3000 less than Catena and the next one was even less. i will never buy another car from a Catena dealership. read more

I have been dealing with Ray Catena for a very long time and buy all my Mercedes cars from his dealership for years , I would say I've bought over 15 cars in the last 25 years from not only his Benz dealerships but his Lexus ,jaguar Also and have never been disappointed, until last week when I went to his freehold Audi dealership. I very really have to negotiate a price when I purchase a car from them so I was very surprised when my salesman Joe had to come back three times with a difference in price of 115 dollars from his first quote and kept saying to me that the sales manager would be over shortly to go over the price and that never happened . The price was so out of whack with their competitors I was waiting for him to come over and explain how he came to his quote ,but he was just too busy running the bull at the reception counter and not worried about his potential customer. I had been to Bell Audi earlier in the week and k new what the price range should be ,for I had purchased my last Audi from them before freehold opened and was looking for another one for my wife. Wow was I disappointed from the price to the experience. I think expansion is great but you have to have some hands on and they should learn from the other dealerships how to treat old customers.place is beautiful can't say the same about the experience .And by the way since I put my review up my salesman Joe notified me that the price has jumped to $40 more a month if I want the car. From the moment Anthony Paolucci opened his mouth to me it came off very demeaning and rude. I had been a loyal customer for over 2 yrs now and my entire family has been part of the ray catena family for over 7+ years. The inventory at this place is very overpriced compared to other audi dealerships. I pretty much told the guy this and he repeatedly told me I was pulling a, "bait and switch" when another Audi place had truthfully made me a better offer on an even more expensive audi car the day prior. This salesman acted as if he didn't need my business at all and after repeatedly being called a liar, I left absolutely disgusted with this place. I immediately called Audi Bell in Edison and the people there definitely treated me 10x better than the employee at the Freehold Audi. My fiancee and I went over to Audi Bell after work one day, haggled the best price for me, paid a considerable amount of down payment, and we left with my car immediately that day. If you want a better price on inventory and actual respect/kindness go to the Audi place in Edison you won't be disappointed! read more
