I have owned several luxury cars but the service at this particular dealership is honestly the very best I have experienced. Bought a pre-owned 2017 Audi A7 at a dealership in PA 7 weeks ago. Drove it from NY to Sonoma. Encountered a few problems with the car along the way. The trunk would not open completely at times, there was rattling from the back aircon console, the engine seemed to be revving higher than normal. As I drove cross country I first took the car to a dealership in Boulder and then in Bozeman, both did not detect problems and took it no further. At the dealership in San Rafael, service consultant Gene Frank took the car for a ride, felt the car was driving fine and would look into the other problems. Service technician Marco fixed the trunk and could not figure out the rattling sound and took it a step further, dismantled it and found a penny in there. Gene texted me progress updates throughout this time. I am truly appreciative to both Gene and Marco for really making sure I left satisfied. Though I am going to be based in Laguna, based on this level of service, I would probably come back to San Rafael for my next Audi. Thank you. read more

It started with one email after I had expressed interest on a car that was listed on their online inventory. I let him know I was coming by on a certain day to take a look, and when I dropped by a day early because I found I had time, he was there to welcome me with a smile and a beautiful 2018 Audi A3, white exterior and chestnut interior. After the renovation, the dealership looks modern and clean now. I'd probably consider them for another vehicle in the future but would also give Audi SF or Rector Audi a strong chance to earn my business in the future since i live in SF and would not exclusively shop at Audi Marin anymore. They even purchased my Acura whose lease was about to be up so I didn't have to worry about the lease end inspection & costs that might of been associated with the trade-in. We had a horrible experience in financing our new car through Audi Marin. The Finance manager is a rude, unprofessional and shady man named Mike Olia. We purchased the car with much pressure after closing on a Wednesday night. I wanted to wait until the next day so I could shop prices and loan terms. We were told by our sales agent that "we get all financing through all banks. Anything you can get anywhere else you can get here." That was 100% false. They processed our loan at 5% interest. The morning after we called around and every bank we called offered 2.5%-4% for the same loan. When we tried to call Mike to see what recourse we had with the current loan that was being processed he ignored our calls, emails and when he finally did call back he wouldn't give us a name or number of who our loan was with. He said we had to wait 2 weeks for a loan number via mail. I'll spare you the details but my impression of working with this group is they want you in and out and not to hear from you again. We won't be back and we would not recommend financing through this dealership. Avoid working with Mike Olia at all costs. He's flaky and unprofessional. read more

I had not one, but TWO outstanding experiences at Audi. I was referred to Audi by someone who recently purchased a Q5 from a private party and had their car serviced and was assisted by the sales reps at Audi Marin- They could not say enough great things about their experience. I did my research online and saw a few promo's that were right up my alley. On a Thursday evening, I called and spoke to Esan G., he was nothing short of amazing. I told him what I was interested in, my numbers and the promo's that I saw. He listened to what said, acknowledged what I wanted and said he would put something together and email me. That was EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. Esan was straight forward, genuine and to the point. I followed up with Esan on Friday and said that I wanted to come in for a test drive. In the midst of dropping our toddler off at grandma's without checking my phone for his response, we strolled right into Audi Marin. We were greeted immediately and Esan was in the middle of a deal (Bummer), but he made sure that Alex N. would assist us. Alex and Esan's display of team work did not stop there. Alex pulled the vehicle I wanted and took us for a test drive, the Q3 was everything that I wanted. We went back to the office and closed the deal. Really, it was that simple. No pressure, the numbers were perfect. The closing was timely (Actually, fast) and every step was clear, concise and he asked if i had questions all the time. After the papers were signed (mind you this is after close on a Friday night) Alex took the time to review EVERY function in the Q3 and the icing on the cake was that he offered a second run around, gas and detail. Can't say enough good things about this car dealership. I went in looking for a pre-owned Q5 and truly, it took a village and the various individuals with whom I worked all contributed to the final result--a car that I love!!! In particular, the Audi technologist, Griffin, took me on the absolute best test drive (2 of them, actually!) I've ever had. He was highly knowledgeable about the car, personable, straightforward, easy to talk with, and highly intuitive about my need to just drive without necessarily having everything explained. I've taken over a dozen test drives in the past 5 days as I tried to resolve my sudden and unexpected need to switch cars, and working with Griffin was by far the best experience. I was disappointed when he informed me he doesn't yet sell the cars, so I would not be working with him past the test drive. But I must give a huge shout-out to Victor, the salesperson ultimately who wrapped up the deal for me. If all car salespeople were as engaging, down-to-earth, honest, and listened as well as he does, the car-buying business might not be as stressful as we often find it. He was terrific. Last but not least, I have to mention Jay, the salesperson I originally met with when I thought there was probably no way I could afford an Audi. While we didn't find a car I could manage that first day, as Jay promised, he kept an eye out for the right deal, and 4 days later, texted me he'd found something, which is when I returned. Recently I've had the pleasure of buying a car at Marin Audi, and in particular, doing that through Jonathan Young, a sales professional there of the highest quality. This is my second time working with Jonathan on a car purchase. The first time I was interested in an SUV and was being helped by Jonathan. When he understood my needs, which he assessed with great expertise by asking the right questions, he walked me over to VW, and gave the sale to one of his colleagues. AND, despite not getting a commission from me on that, he followed up several times to see if there was anything I needed. This time, when I decided to go with an Audi, of course I called Jonathan and he made himself available on short notice, again, asked and listened carefully, and responded with an absolutely great recommendation and an even better deal. He then walked me through the entire process, and got me seated and trained in the new wheels, and out the door in an efficient yet customer-focused manner. The Finance Manager and overall manager of the dealership were equally service and client-focused, although Jonathan is clearly the MVP here. Good price on an advertised A6, but that's where it stops. Purchased an A6, took it home then had to return it 3 days later. The car performed great, no problems with it, loved it. The problem was with the financing of the lease. Seems that the staff are not all that experienced in dealing with Audi Financial when it come to business leases. For some reason they demanded that I come back in and re-sign the contract and DMV paperwork. This was after I had taken delivery, brought the car home and showed to our friends and family. Reason, because they said they needed to change details and terms of the lease contract. (Never heard of having to come back after you have signed a contract or they can cancel the sale.) Hard to understand why they would not be willing to wait until the following Monday (2 days later) to double check to see if they had the correct information regarding what was required. After returning the car, I called Audi Financial on that Monday to check for myself and was told by Audi Financial that there was not problem. That the dealership was mistaken. Even after Audi Marin was given the name of my contact at Audi Financial, they wouldn't work with us. Maybe they had already sold the car again. "Our Position Has Not Changed" was their response. We ended up going to a different Dealer and had no problem. Got another A6. So it would appear that their lack of experience caused them to not only lose a sale but made for one very unhappy customer who will not only be giving them a negative review but has filed a complaint with the DMV. The staff seemed to have a "this is the way it is and if you want the car, you do everything as we say, regardless if it's correct or not" attitude. I guess Audi's are so popular that they can take a hard line attitude, as if there are no other options. Well there are other options and I recommend that if you want an Audi try somewhere else. Oh, by the way, the other Dealer found us an additional incentive of $1,500.00. I guess Audi Marin didn't know about that either. read more

Rod Helaire, the General Sales Manager is more than fair, bends over backwards to make sure you are happy and is an all around great individual. Donna Llamas & Jon Young are fantastic sales people. They make sure every question is answered properly, all of your concerns are addressed and make you feel at home and comfortable when making the important decision of buying a new vehicle. Glen Brown in service is great! He keeps communicating updates regarding your vehicle while in the shop and makes sure every scenario is exhausted in order for the repair to be done correctly the first time. I use to bring my VW Passat to get serviced at Sonnen Marin when I lived in the area. Since then I have moved to Vallejo and recently purchased a Audi A4 station wagon with 54k that needed a battery change before I could start it to bring into a mechanic for a service. When I replaced the battery the lights flashed and alarm sounded and I wasn't sure how to make it stop so I called Audi Marin to ask if there was something that I needed to do. I forget the guys name in service that took my call, but he refused to answer any questions about what to do when a battery is changed and would only take a reservation for a service. When I explained the situation he insisted that he wouldn't be able to answer any questions and had a snide attitude when I suggested that I would give my business to a garage that was more willing to help a customer in need. I'm giving two stars because if it wasn't for the inferior customer service, I wouldn't have found a shop in the area on yelp that got 5 star ratings that will do the service for more than half of the $799.00 quote that I got from Audi Marin. I don't get it...why not provide good customer service and receive business from 55,000 miles until the car dies or is sold? Now a company down the road is getting my business. I implore others to look into more cost effective ways of maintaining your car. On a side note, by the time the good folks at AutoZone told me it was normal and it would stop, I walked back outside and it had stopped. read more

My wife and I bought a certified Audi A3 on 9/27/2014 from Jennifer of Audi of Marin. It is still under manufacturer's warranty. I still bought an extended warranty. They sold the car with absolutely bald front tires and misaligned wheels. Jennifer did not bother disclosing the defects. Worse, still. The following day the car started to have squeaky noise while shifting to the first gear (manual transmission). We were not worried (we are not mechanics) and waited for the first scheduled maintenance to ask about this noise. Three months and 4,500 miles after the purchase we brought the car to the dealership. We were told that its a transmission problem and would cost about $3,000 to fix. Despite the warranties the dealership refused to repair the car. The worst offender is their Service Director Daniel McNamee. I tried to resolve the issue with him amicably twice. He was using any and every excuse he could find to avoid standing behind their product. Typical used car salesman, never accepts his responsibility. Sneaky. Arrogant. Customer unfriendly. I sent in an internet request and within minutes received a call from Amal. He was very customer oriented- courteous, professional, and responsive. With Amal's help the process of getting our A7 was easy and quick. We appreciated how efficient Amal was with our time, especially since our first visit was with our twin toddlers. Nightmare can't begin to describe my purchasing experience with Audi of Marin. In 2010, I purchased a new Audi and the dealership registered 2 license plates to my VIN with the DMV. I had called and thought they had corrected it, but they had not. Five years later and I'm still getting charges on my Fastrak for a car driving around with an illegal license plate that is not mine. Now, I need to get Audi of Marin to file an Application in Error with the DMV. If you want an unethical and incompetent dealership, Audi of Marin is for you. read more

He sounded sincere and professional so I guess I will give this dealership another shot in the future for my service. After several dealings with Audi Marin, in short, my overall experience was pretty bad. Contacted them on 3 occasions with 2 different representatives and all 3 occasions had leave me with very bad impressions. I don't know if other representatives at this dealership is more pleasant to work with but the 2 people I encounter certainly appeared very unprofessional, snobby and condescending. Do not confuse this dealership with Audi, Audi cars are great and always fun to drive but dealing with this dealership has been very convoluted and frustrating. If you enjoy stories, read on. Initially, I had contacted them to inquire about a new A4 and started talking with a sales representative. My feeling was: he was neither helpful, knowledgeable nor active about selling a car, maybe they sold too many cars for whatever reason. I asked about an A4 ultra with navigation, I don't what any other fancy features, I just enjoy Audi 's navigation system a lot, he assured me there's no such car because "you can't build it on audiusa.com" and keep pressuring me to go to a premium plus, which with all the options costs $7000 more. His claim later turned out to be false as according to Audi press release, there is 2017 ultra model released with MMI navigation, I did saw it somewhere else and cars at the dealership most certainly don't always come with only manufacture's website packages (the "season of audi package" is definitely not on audiusa.com but you can see that package everywhere on the window sticker). I asked what price they can quote me, he appears very reluctant and won't give me a straight number. "We don't want to give out a low price we can't do to draw you in like some other dealers does" he said. A complete junk reply, if you don't want to give me a "low price you can't do" then give me a price you CAN do. "Come in to get the price" he said, why would I even drive so far to come if you can't give me any sort of number on the phone? At least 2 other Audi dealership is willing to give me a quote either on phone or by email. I then asked what cars do they have in stock and what options they have, he replied "we only have very limited stock and we only get the car want after you came, test drive, negotiated the price and sign everything." Another complete useless reply, all I want to know is what do they have in-stock so I can drive it off the same day I bought it. He doesn't even bother to tell me what's in their "limited stock." And if this is true, that means: 1. I don't actually "see" the car I want, can't know if I will actually like it and 2. the negotiation is completely blind as I don't have the car or even have a picture or window sticker to discuss. And keep in mind they still maintained the car I want "isn't available anywhere." Lastly, I asked about how the trade-in will work in this case, he had assured me he will drive the car to me and drive my trade-in away 3 days after I buy. Some people might like this but I think it is just crazy if that's the "only thing" they are willing to do. That means I paid my down payment and don't get my car? What if something happen to my trade-in during that 3-day period? What if something happened while he was driving my car or driving my trade-in? I don't even want to ask for the answer, the process at this point is already very dismal. Several days later another representative reached out to me via an one-line email. So I decided to give this guy a try but it turns out to be another complete disappointment. After he did some "initial research," he called me back. He continued to pressure me to come in but I did get a quote from him on the phone which is decent. When I ask him to send me an email about the specifics so I can compare with other emails I received, he appeared to sound completely reluctant. If this quote you gave me is the price you can honor, then why won't you put it on an email? After all, it will go on the sales contract anyway. I then asked about financing and leasing, more crazy answer came out and my frustration grows. At one point he even asked "are you still interested?" (with a condescending tone) I am completely baffled, If I am not interested why will I even waste my working time to call you? Should I not be interested? I told him "Yea of course I am." Then the last reply he gave during our conversation was "I am with a customer now, I will do some research and call you back." Mind though it was him who initiated this third call, so that does that mean he called me back while he was with a customer and ignoring him/her for this long? And nope, no one ever called me back. I just moved to Marin County 2 moths ago. I have tried to schedule a service appointment, they never put it on the system so I was not able to service the car. Now I got a recall notice and I called to schedule to fix it. They didn't have the parts so they told me they would call me as soon as they got them. After 2 weeks still waiting so I called them again, they said they do have the parts so I guess they forgot to call me. The person helping me on the phone said I was not on the system so that is why they never called me, he asked me for my car's bin number which I already gave it to the other person I called 2 weeks ago. Anyhow, now this person claims I am in the system so he transfers me to the appointment department, of course there is an answering machine, I left a message, let's see how long they will take to call me back if they do.
