I visited this dealership as a serious prospective customer and left disappointed by the experience. I came in with a genuine interest in the brand, a realistic budget, and a genuine intention to purchase a vehicle if I found the right fit. I was not there for a joyride or simply to pass the time. From the moment I walked in, it was difficult to get anyone's attention. Once I was able to speak with a salesperson, I never felt like I was being engaged as a serious customer. As a younger buyer, I got the impression that assumptions were being made about why I was there before anyone had taken the time to ask. The most frustrating part was the feeling that I had to prove myself before I could have a serious conversation about purchasing a car. Rather than being treated as a potential customer from the start, I felt like I first had to convince the salesperson that I belonged there and that my interest was genuine. I wasn't even looking for a test drive, yet several comments gave me the impression that I was being viewed as someone looking for a free test drive rather than someone interested in learning about the cars. At one point, a comment was made that came across as suggesting that if I wasn't prepared to purchase a vehicle, I shouldn't be wasting the dealership's time. Whether that was the intended meaning or not, that was how it was received. One interaction in particular stood out to me. After we had spent time discussing my budget, the types of cars I was interested in, and my purchasing criteria, the salesperson told me that he wanted to "look me in the eyes" and determine my character before talking numbers. Whether that was intended to build rapport or not, it came across as though I was being evaluated rather than helped. I had come to learn about the cars and explore a potential purchase, so the comment left me feeling as though I needed to prove myself before I could be taken seriously as a customer. I also felt that very little effort was made to engage me in a discussion about the vehicles themselves. During parts of the walkthrough, inventory was being scrolled through with little explanation, and I found myself having to stop and ask about specific cars because information wasn't being volunteered. I walked into a Porsche dealership wanting to learn about Porsches and left knowing almost nothing more than when I arrived. None of the individual interactions were dramatic on their own. The issue was the cumulative effect of the comments, the assumptions, and the overall tone of the experience. I walked in excited to learn more about the Porsche brand and left feeling like I had to earn the right to be taken seriously. The cars themselves were fantastic. I was surprised on my visit this week that after showing lots of interest in test driving 2 specific cars and being told "everyone is busy" and they must all be at lunch and "just call to schedule an appointment for another day." It was a mid afternoon (2:30-3:00) after lunch time on a Thursday. I saw several salespeople standing around so it didn't make any sense. I thought it was odd that they didn't even ask me to wait a few minutes for someone to become available. Ultimately this off experience gave me a bad taste in my mouth and I will not return to buy the car. I gave 2 stars because the nicest person to help me was actually a guy in service who spent time going over all the key aspects of the car with me, just to be professional and helpful and to represent his employer well. Omid, Alex, & James were all 3 shamelessly asking me not to wire the money stating "someone just walked into the store interested in it" We were done negotiating, signed all docs, & right when I was about to wire the money they demanded I don't. Omid started crying over the phone saying there is nothing he can do & he will try his best not to sell it to these newly interested clients. 3 hours later he called me saying the vehicle is sold to them. Once Omid started fake crying over the phone l knew something was very off. Needless to say they held on to me as back up for as long as they could, then squeezed a few bucks out of the newly interested clients. A few bucks to ruin their reputation, & end our relationship at this dealership. Truly shocked to have gone thru this to what seems on the surface as a well established professional dealership. I was very surprised to see that my low-mileage 911 was driven ~95 miles over 1.5 months while it was in for minor electronic repairs. I was told they were waiting for camera wires and was assured that no one was using the car in the interim. I would have been happy to speak with the manager of the business about my experiences, but of course, assuming I ever got to someone who said they would transfer me to him, he was either "unavailable," or my call was dropped during the transfer. I was in Marin for other reasons and decided to see if Porsche Marin had any 718 Caymans in stock, preferably used. First off, know that I know a heckuva lot about Porsches, particularly vintage ones. I'm a PCA member, I autocross regularly with PCA, I go to Monterey Car Week every year... I know my stuff, and I'm serious about buying a 718 Cayman. I showed up in my Subaru. Now, I know from PCA autocross that Subarus are very popular among Porsche owners as daily drivers. It should not come as a surprise to a Porsche salesperson that a potential customer also owns a Subaru. But I guess at Porsche Marin, the salespeople aren't aware of this. Despite multiple salespeople walking past me and several not having any customers at their desks, no one even said hello to me or my boyfriend. After about 25 minutes of being ignored like some dirty panhandler, I was ready to leave. I was sitting waiting for my boyfriend to use the restroom when a salesperson finally walked up to me to see if I had been helped. Too little, too late. I'll be purchasing from Porsche Redwood City. I've been there for multiple PCA events and know they will treat an enthusiast with respect... even if she shows up in a Subaru. P.S., Porsche Marin should send salespeople over to Ferrari of San Francisco for lessons in customer service. Beyond terrible. Having purchased a couple of cars from Marin Porsche, I've been taking those cars to this location for service over the years. Firstly, let me capture the service process as many will be shocked by their standard operating procedure. While you will need to make an appointment (over the phone or online) which is more often than not 3-5 weeks out, far longer if you want a loaner, when delivered at the agreed upon hour, I have witnessed my car then brought to the back parking lot...and there it will sit. In some cases for a day or two, in others, several days before the car is even moved into a work bay for inspection/service. In addition, do not be surprised when you realize that your car has been driven 20 minutes north up the busy freeway to another facility in San Rafael. None of this is mentioned to you when you have dropped off your car for service. Maybe it's just me, but your car is a critical tool one needs to go to the doctor's office, to work, to pick up the kids after school, yet there is absolutely no consideration or even acknowledgement of this. Basically, the service advisors mentality is your car will be completed when it's completed and never is there any communication about timeline and completion even for basic, scheduled service. The topic is avoided entirely and when pushed, the typical response is 'we'll do our best'. Clearly this attitude is fueled by the fact that while you had an appointment at 7:30AM...that does not mean they will look at your car that day, or even after several days, and no updates are provided, In order to get any status on your car, you need to be 100% proactive, either calling or texting the advisor. In most cases, they do not pickup the phone, nor respond to messages left. Response by text often comes hours after your inquiry, and even then only a few cryptic words, which has become a favorite game for my wife and I to try and decipher. "Parts need to be ordered" is a classic example. Parts for what? How much? How long will it take to get the parts? Can I pick up my car? Is it covered by my warranty, which in the case the repair is fully covered, in my experience, it's never volunteered by the advisor. Sadly, in conclusion, with the exception of one advisor (who left to another dealer), the most basic of communication skills are non-existent. Ironic and sad, considering customers are routinely paying $100k -$200k for a car...you'd think the level of service and care would be commensurate. read more

I am incredibly disappointed with the service - or rather, lack thereof - that I have experienced at Porsche Marin. As a serious buyer looking to purchase a 911 Carrera 4S, I expected a premium level of service, something that should be standard when dealing with a brand like Porsche. Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but. My primary concern revolves around trying to get in touch with the general manager, Kyle, who has consistently failed to respond to my inquiries. I have made multiple attempts to contact him, leaving messages and waiting patiently for a response, but to this day, I have yet to receive any acknowledgment. I was genuinely interested in finalizing my purchase and expected a timely follow-up from someone in his position. However, the sheer negligence and lack of professionalism I've encountered are both frustrating and baffling. This is NOT the level of service you would expect when considering a car worth over six figures. What kind of operation are you running if your general manager can't even be bothered to return a phone call or an email? If this is the treatment one gets before buying the car, I can only imagine how abysmal the after-sales support must be. How can you expect customers to feel valued or trust that they'll be taken care of when you can't even handle simple communication? Frankly, this is unacceptable. I was ready to make a significant investment, but if this is the type of experience I get when just trying to communicate with someone, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Porsche is supposed to represent quality and prestige, but my experience with Porsche Marin has been anything but. To future buyers, beware. If you're expecting any form of customer service or professionalism, I'd strongly recommend looking at other dealerships. Not my original dealership. They were pleasant while I was there for a lengthy oil change. It was a long appointment as it's not like other dealerships or certified Porsche mechanics that do it while you wait, about 45 minutes. It's 5 to 6 hours and they never have loaners at least for things like that so if you drive quite a distance like I do to get a dealership oil change you're stuck unless they give you a ride to a nearby shopping center. For 5+ hours! They do have a room customers can wait in with coffee and snacks but it's isolated by itself and not connected to the dealership which kind of makes you feel like they want to "get you out of their hair". I sat there for over an hour after going to the shopping center and shopping and eating lunch. It made for a very long day. The second time I was going to go I ended up canceling and went somewhere else. I was dreading waiting 5 to 6 hours again which I was told I would unless I came really early and left my house at like 5:30 am. I was told the first time I was given a really special price for the oil change which was almost $300 more than I paid at the most recent certified place I went to. The surprising and somewhat irritating part of it all was after scheduling the next oil change I was also told that I was "going to get more service than I expected". What??! No consideration that I rarely drive the car, what the mileage was, no questions asked, just told and was then told it was an over $3000 service! Major turn off. There are certified places outside of the dealership that are much cheaper for something like an oil change plus they do their own checks on your car and give you an independent report. read more

I am from NJ and was ready to buy one of their cars on a Monday am immediately after it was listed. They told me it needed to go to the workshop, which I found a bit odd. I expressed that I was willing to pay a deposit to hold the car, but they declined. I kept following up and they strung me along with "its almost ready". On Wednesday they finally confirmed the car was ready and sent me pictures. On their word I hired a professional pre-sales inspector to go check the car, only to find that it had been sold already on Tuesday. Either they lied all they way through, or they are incompetent, or I got played as a backup. Then they cut off communication, when I asked why they did this. You are better off going to a used car dealership because you will get more honesty and better treatment there, if thats believable. I am a bit traumatized by this experience actually, there is such a thing as karma. They do not deserve the Porsche name. read more

So I used the Porsche Marin website portal to submit an inquiry about purchasing a 2024 or 2025 Porsche GT3 RS. I was emailed by a sales representative Huy Phan as well as a Sales Manager named Luke Council. I asked for an upfront price and time frame needed to facilitate the purchase. They asked for some basic information from me, which I provided and then there was no response from them. A few days later, I asked for an update on the status and they said that they could put me on a "waiting list" and would let me know when a slot becomes available. I once again inquired about how many people were ahead of me on this so called "waiting list", only to not receive any response. At this time, I sent one final email stating that I would like the General Manager, Kyle Festog, to email me with regards to helping me establish a price point at which they were willing to sell the car for as well as a reasonable timeframe needed to make the purchase. It has now been multiple days, with no communication. I am a local Bay Area resident and have been for over 30 years. I have bought countless luxury automobiles over the years, and have funds ready to make the purchase. The lack of communication, lack of follow up, lack of professionalism, and lack of common courtesy from Porsche Marin is not what I would expect from a luxury auto dealership, and certainly not a good image for the Porsche brand. My time is valuable and if you are unable to sell me a car, you should at least have the common courtesy to tell me so I can spend my time to contact other dealers within my area. I have since decided to take my business elsewhere and have purchased a car from another Porsche dealership here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I would highly RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A PORSCHE TO LOOK ELSEWHERE AND NOT WASTE THEIR TIME WITH PORSCHE MARIN. Apparently they sell enough cars from walk in traffic and don't need business from internet inquiries (If you can sense my utmost sarcasm). read more

Long time Porsche customer, owned more than 20 Porsche cars and own 4 currently. Went in for an oil top up and they refused me. They service my car annually at a cost of more than $3k, wanted to argue about a quart of oil. Service is awful. Last time I will be using these guys. The term customer service means nothing to these guys but they will invoice you for the dumbest things. Nickel and dime merchants. Go to a small independent the corporates are killing the brand. read more

Service department Weis is amazing. They found the problem with DPF and fixed it. Probably wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

We bought our first Porsche here. I have to admit that we loved the service given before we bought the car. We are not at all impressed with the service department we had a few hiccups that lead us to go to a different Porsche pro for anything repair or maintaining. But being German our self we have high standards But mr and mrs Sonnen who still works at this place make sure that customer who get new or second hand cars are treated the right way. So every time a new model is out we enjoy their hospitality And since we soon will looking for a replacement we are sure to look here first what's on offer. read more

Just bought my second car here (first time, it was called Sonnen). I've never had better car buying experiences in my life. Price Jessup gets all the stars. He responded to my inquiry e-mail with deep knowledge, care, and genuine helpful service. He sent me lots of pictures, two videos, and followed-up. I responded with a detailed list of my needs. Visiting the dealership was just as helpful. No BS, just direct communication, real human interaction, and a desire to complete the process. This is the way car buying (and selling) should happen. I inquired about a 2021 Taycan the other week and was talking to George Tenido. The car was undergoing its CPO process so we made a deal that he would update me when it was finished since I was wanting the extended warranty. The next day he told me the car sold. No problem. I found another vehicle that matched my requirements and inquired about it with George. After some back and forth about pricing, getting details about service history, we made an appointment to test drive and buy in two days. The next day, he says the vehicle was sold. Very disappointed in this dealership and sales rep after confirming an appointment to buy the vehicle and they sell it to someone else. Would not recommend to anyone. I will be looking elsewhere to do my business with sales reps who actually care and have proper English in their messages. Also, they add trackers to all of their cars and charge you $1300 for it. Shady tactics. Avoid. read more
