I had tried for so long to get tickets to Big Bang Theory - we had been in line at least 5 times over 5 years with either standby or actual tickets - and we never got in.

Did you know BINGO was invented by the Italians in the 16th century? It was called "Il Gioco del…read moreLotto" and a version of that is still played in Italy today! Eventually word of mouth made its way to France, where it was called "Le Lotto," a game of chance enjoyed by wealthy aristocrats, before catching on in Germany and then finally, to the the United States in the 1920's, when it was called "Beano" because dried beans were used to mark the winning numbers. BEANO became BINGO when a player accidentally yelled "Bingo!" instead of "Beano!" out of sheer excitement and the name was forever changed. A Catholic priest then had the grand idea to use Bingo as a means to help raise church funds during the Great Depression and the rest is history. America's beloved pastime's popularity started to wane in the 90's and 2000's but I'm glad to say Bingo is back, baby, and stronger than ever, judging from the crowds of young influencers and old sticklers alike that come to play this game. Bell-Jeff Bingo, which gathers every Tuesdays from 4pm is by far the best Bingo Hall in the vicinity. It is a clean, bright and calm space, with lots of parking right outside and the most interesting players (hustlers!?) and the nicest, most patient flash card runners/volunteers. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the food, such as burgers, tacos, and grilled cheese that you can order and eat while you're playing. The whole experience lends to a night of fun and relaxation, a truly wonderful social community event. All the players tell me it's not about the winning that's addictive when it comes to Bingo, oh no, no. It's the whole experience leading up to that win. It's the slow building of anticipation and manifestation, the prayers, laughter, comradery and then finally, the realization of the win. Everyone should experience this euphoric feeling of calling out "Bingo!" and winning $$$ because it is a feeling like no other. Come and experience for yourself because it is like nothing else. See you here.

My fiancé and I used to have Dave & Busters passes, so we knew we would enjoy Round 1. Upon entering, we went to activate a game card and Javier helped us out. He was friendly, and efficient. I was walking towards the back with the Japanese toy machines when I saw there was a Disney Photo Booth. I LOVE photo booths and make my fiancé take a photo with me every time we see one, but I'm also a huge fan of Stitch, so this was perfect. I have never seen a Disney Photo Booth before and was super impressed. Then we made our way to the claw machines, and here's where I wasted all our money. There was this panda nigiri that we really wanted and I was convinced if I just hooked the claw around the tag's loop we could get it. We spent all our money on this until about our last 3 swipes when Javier magically appeared and taught us how to do it. Just one try after Javier's instructions, my partner got it! We then went to reload the card since we wasted all our money on that one panda, and played more claw games, but this time the mini ones. I had so much fun- I got the duck ramen on my first try! Then we went back to the infamous panda nigiri machine to show that machine who's boss and BOOM I got a second one on my first try (thank you Javier for the tips!). It was so much fun and all the employees I interacted with were so friendly and sweet. I really enjoyed how the employees wanted to help us win. So much fun for a little date activity!

It's humongous, has reasonable structured parking right next to it with tons of spaces, and the win rate was very generous. It's attached to an inside mall that I didn't put a foot in, but I imagine it's a nicer mall based on the surroundings I passed. They seem to have a very large space inside, and a healthy volume of people roaming through all the aisles and arcade games. The people at the counters were also numerous and attentive. Yeah some machines were very weak and some had cheese wheels, but I think a majority were reasonably fair. I'm from NorCal and Burbank is by far my favorite Round1 at the moment. I liked this location so much that I had to visit it twice during my trip. I'm not too sure what to do with all the jumbo prizes I won! I will say though, this location has the laziest workers I've ever seen. We asked people to help us several times, and the usual response was "I'll get someone else" or being told to wait for nothing. You have to be extremely proactive and annoying about requesting for help. They're one of the first receivers of the gashapon and they're cute little keychain trinkets or figures, but ultimately I wasn't really interested in any of the random anime IPs.

IMAX and Dolby are amazing here, but not that I believe all theater seating has been updated in quality these past years, you can't go wrong with any. We're gearing up for some of the summer blockbusters. Very much looking forward to Supergirl 2026, following the Woman of Tomorrow storyline, among others. Friday nights are the busiest here, we've learned that a few times and now usually do Sunday mornings or afternoons. Great deals on Tuesdays, and seeing things in the early half of the week are ideal with more parking and less traffic by car as well as on foot. Concessions is massive and well ran as well as kept up. Personable crew through and through making the AMC Burbank 16 not just a favorite, but one that does it's best. Some of the coolest displays and posters you'll see outside of AMC Citywalk Universal which has more costumes and set pieces displayed at times. Love the layout for the MacGuffins bar, but drinks are not reasonable and very mid. Great snack selection as well as merch. They're definitely making movies/movie going better!

Honestly though, there's a certain charm with smaller theaters, especially if you don't want to deal with the hassle of crowds. This theater is located behind the Burbank Town Center, so if you're coming here definitely park at this garage than the other ones. Because it's so tucked away, parking is ample. This AMC is located downstairs, so you'll have to take the stairs getting down there (but there's also an escalator and elevator for those who need them). Because it's downstairs, cell phone service is going to be wonky and practically non-existent. Oh no! No one's phone is going to go off and ruin your moviegoing experience - the humanity! The screens are consistent with the other AMCs in the area, so whatever you watch is going to look great and sound awesome. The recliner seats are uniformly good but deep (you'll be surprised how low you can go!). The theater itself seemed to be well-maintained with not much trash running amok. Overall if you're in Burbank and want to see a movie, don't sleep on AMC Burbank Town Center 6! Great image/sound + clean theaters + fewer people = less fuss to interfere with your experience, which is always a good thing.

But once you know where it is, you can park right across the way in the parking structure and essentially step right into the theater! I can't speak on the food, but the experience has always been good when I've been here.

I used my WAZE and it took us to the Recreation Center! We decided to drive around the block, but my WAZE still took us here! I decided to park and we walked towards the recreation center and what do we see?!?! A small sign with an arrow pointing towards the back of the Recreation Center. We followed the path and found another sign and there it was.... The Grove Theater!! Looked REALLY small from the outside. When we entered the theater, you right away are in the lobby/intermission area. They sold cookies and drinks only. Small seating area, but nicely done and looks cozy. The theater looks new. The seats were comfortable. The theater states it holds 99 seats which I found hard to believe. By the time the play started (we saw A Christmas Carol), the theater was about 1/4 full. The play itself was well done with only three actors. It's amazing what they did with their "costume changes" utilizing their red or green scarf. The male actor changed his character just by messing up his hair and changing his voice and mannerisms! The play was well done and I would highly recommend it. No intermission. Only 90 minutes. Never a dull moment. Plenty of free street parking. They have their own parking lot, but I don't have a clue as to how to get to it!! We would definitely return.
