After leaving Audio Crafters I was very happy with my experience. However when I started having problems with the rest of my car I was not so happy. I had the radio installed a few months ago but started experiencing some strange electrical problems with my jeep. I took it to the mechanic and it turns out that the guy who installed the stereo had accidentally wired it incorrectly and somehow got it wired into the engine control module. Also all the wiring under the dash was screwed up, and none of the interior lights worked, after the radio installation. It cost me three hundred bucks to fix the wiring, and that's pretty expensive. In addition to this BS the guy who installed the radio (who was the not the owner of the shop) left a bunch of chocolate crumbs and even a kit kat bar underneath my seat. NOT COOL. read more

Arthur was great on a subwoofer install that others quoted me 2 hours minimum to take the job. He did it in half the time and charged me half the price. The job was clean and quick and my car came back to me looking just as I left it but now with a working sub woofer. My auxiliary input stopped working a long while back, and I came here recently on a late Saturday afternoon actually wanting a new radio installed. I just bought a Jeep Wrangler that came with no power door locks. It was driving me crazy having to manually lock/unlock my car by hand. He was very adamant in establishing the fact that he simply does audio, and he's good at it. I had a JL 10w3v3, custom enclosure with no mounting hardware, and an alpine amplifier. He quickly got to work and had my install done in an hour. This included drilling and mounting my enclosure to a factory location, wiring the amp under the passenger seat, and testing and tuning my sub to an existing Alpine INE-W940 navigation unit I installed myself. He was very friendly and knowledgable about high end audio. I will definitely be back to upgrade my audio in the future. Audio Crafters has stellar reviews already, and I can personally say this shop is well deserving of them. I went to Audio Crafters a few times now, and each time I left satisfied knowing that I got a good car audio product and the installation was performed right. The shop owner, Arthur, particularly warrants mention because I believe he is a man of integrity and makes the effort to meet or exceed customers' expectations. Case in point: I wanted to add Apple CarPlay functionality go my aging factory sound system so I called Audio Crafters. I spoke with Arthur and he recommended Grom VLine VL2. Everything was great at first but shortly after, my car's battery began draining rapidly and I could not even leave the vehicle parked for just a few days without the battery completely draining and failing to start. I contacted Arthur and asked if he might be able to take a look, and he fit me in his busy schedule and, the very next day, spent close to 3 hours diagnosing my car and getting in touch with Grom Audio to identify the issue. It turns out, the VL2 unit was staying on after the car has been turned off and needed a firmware update to resolve the matter. Now everything works perfectly and I am thrilled! I was blown away that he would take the time to help me out in the manner that he did. And he refused my offer to pay him for his time. I suppose one would expect him to do something to make it right since his shop sold me the product. But many businesses nowadays would provide excuses and try to weasel out of taking any responsibility. Plus, it was several months since the install so he could just as easily have told me I'm past my return period or whatever. Arthur's commitment to his customers' satisfaction is, sadly, not common among businesses these days. So I went down the street and met Arthur. First off, I created this account for the sole purpose to add a 5-star rating to Art's already nicely-sized pile. TLDR: My experience at Audio Crafters over the past 5-6 years has been more than excellent. Art (the owner) is a Master and the reason you go to a small shop over the big name franchises, or the rims/muffler/tint/kitchen remodel/car stereo places. This is going to be a long story because Art is just that good, and he deserves it. About 5-6 years ago, I brought an extensive list and an open budget to Art. He immediately made changes to every aspect of it because, "Those are good, but overpriced... these are better and cheaper". You get the idea... I decided to go with all of Art's suggestions (saving me about $1,000), he ordered the parts and he knocked out the entire install in a full day the following week. (Dynamat'd the entire car/trunk/license plate, all new 8 speaker system, custom tweeter install, custom subwoofer box, 2 subwoofers, full dvd/nav/head unit and Sirius, ipod/usb in glove box, all ran through 2 beefy amps) His work was perfect, and my system hits hard and could make you pass a kidney stone if you're ever in need of that service... but the best part was that he drove me to the nearest car rental place the day of, waited in line with me, only to realize that I left my credit card on my desk at home. Without even flinching he whipped out his card and put the rental in his name. The clerk even reminded us that only he is permitted to drive the car and that he is fully responsible, blah, blah, blah. I was a perfect stranger to Art, and he put a rental car in his name for me. I doubt he makes a habit of that kind of thing (because that'd be pretty dumb), but it just goes to show that he does care about his customer's time and satisfaction. An update to my previous review. The radio I had installed randomly started to die on me (complete blackout power-down) when I switched between the tuner and other settings. Pulled in one afternoon nearly 5 months after I first had the unit installed. Told the guy my problem and he immediately offered to swap the unit out. Took 10 minutes, refused to let me pay him even for his time, and sent me on my way with a brand new radio. Could NOT be happier with the service. read more

I read all of the reviews on Yelp before going to see Arthur at Audio Crafters. I had worked extensively with Mike down the street, but he passed away a few years ago. I am serious about my car audio and spent roughly $4k on equipment for my 1995 Acura Integra, which is almost twice what the car is worth. I recently purchased a 2015 Acura TLX and needed the audio upgraded. The challenge - create perfect sound in a car without removing the stock stereo because it is too tightly integrated with all of the systems in the car (AC, navigation, etc). I also advised that I wanted the car to look "stock" so that to the untrained eye, it would look like NOTHING was installed...THIS WAS A TOUGH JOB. After meeting with Arthur and discussing price, I left my car with him for 7 days while on a business trip. I returned to a car that did not appear touched upon first glance. Upon looking closely, the tweeters had been installed, but Arthur did an amazing job of matching the interior of the car. He opened the trunk to reveal the twin subs, mounted flush in black, perfectly matching the trunk interior. Pulling back the back seats, revealed the rest of the equipment - AMAZING. It sounded BETTER than it looked. I mean, I heard things in songs that I listened to for years with Bose noise reducing headphones that I never heard before. As with all high quality sound systems, it exposed some songs that were originally poorly recorded, but those engineered well sounded like BUTTER. I am going back after the system is broken in for a few tweaks, but I HIGHLY recommend Arthur for your car audio needs. He is passionate about his work and he's great at what he does. And the price? Let's just say that he handed me a quote and challenged me to find lower pricing anywhere. Take your car to Audio Crafters...you can't go wrong!! read more

Still five-stars 4.5 years later. Arthur and my wife colluded to put in a new Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX HU in my FJ after 4.5 years of using the first Pioneer HU he installed. They made it a surprise while the FJ was in getting some repairs. The Toyota shops drove the FJ over to Audio Crafters and he installed it after they finished up the work. Wife took me to the Sprouts grocery across the street that night. When we pulled in, I noticed an FJ like ours. Upon closer look, I noticed that it WAS my FJ. I was like WTF? It's in getting repairs. She said "I don't know" and said "I'll call the dealer". So, I stood out front, waiting for some guy to come out with his groceries and I was going to lose my mind on him. Waited and waited. Nobody shows up. Wife comes out and pretends she's on the phone with the dealer. She "hangs up" and says "they said they're really sorry, and to just take the car". I was so pissed...but I got in and started it up. I immediately noticed that new radio in the center and was like WTF! I got out and yelled over at her, she getting in her car. She was laughing and yelled out "we got you". So, As it happened, it was my birthday AND Arthur's. Since it was after hours, I could not go by to thank him. I did so the next Saturday, and he was so happy that I was happy. Offered me a cold adult birthday beverage, and we talked about some home stereo gear. He then took me out to show me some new, cool things on the Apple CarPlay setup. I will never-ever go anywhere else. Such a great guy, and he always does more than he has to. We found Audiocrafters on Yelp because we wanted to replace the old stock CD desk in our Ford Focus with something that could connect to our phones, and had SiriusXM connectivity. I called, and they asked me what I wanted. As soon as I explained it, we set up an appointment. Not only did they upgrade us to a better system (for the same quoted price - in this case, an Alpine tuner with SiriusXM antenna), but the system was installed flawlessly and quickly. Ok, most people give this place Five Stars for a reason: there aren't any more stars you can give! This guy is the best. He talks to you like a human and does what he says he is going to do when he says he is going to do it. You ain't finding anyone better or with fairer prices. If he can't do something he will tell you he cannot do it. There's no BS and or sales pitch. I lucked out when I rolled in there. BTW - I read the (few) negative reviews before and after I had Arthur install the amp in my car. When I re-read them after the work was completed I laughed out loud; I realized those were reviews most likely left by dooshes or stooges or wittle snowflakes. Art's rebuttal is very telling, as it reflects the discussion we had the day after my review was posted and told me that his intention was not to screw me. Of course, he rants about missed appointments and a bunch of other blahs, but he tolerated them, because he hadn't sold me yet. Here's the bottom line, he never pulled the passenger door to ascertain why the speaker wasn't performing correctly, he made an "assumption" (his words). With that said, "at least you have 2 spare speakers". He also said, "I guess you can't please all customers". What he never did was take ANY responsibility for making a mistake. In that phone conversation, he said he made a disingenuous offer buy the speakers back numerous times (badgering style), even after I told him the they were already installed. Yeah right, why would I absorb the cost to have the them uninstalled / reinstalled, plus my time to effect said change. He aslo pretended not to know who his online competition was for dynaudio components (Wooferetc) downtown L.A., who bill themselves as the world's largest car audio superstore. Yeah right. So I would encourage people to compare my initial review and his response, point by point and make your own decision. I just don't trust people who are never wrong. read more

If you ever need to get any audio work done for your car, this is the place to go! Arthur (the owner) is extraordinarily nice and helpful. He'll advise you on the best items for your car and give you a very reasonable price. On top of that, the installation itself was quick (even though he was shorthanded that day). Specifically I went in to get a bluetooth adapter installed into my car for hooking up my iPhone and hands-free calling. At first I just wanted the auxiliary input for music only, but he said for a small amount more he would be able to do a wire-free (bluetooth that is) and hand-free calling system. He didn't push the more expensive option at all, and was extremely friendly overall.
