I recently bought a new car and needed to have Apple CarPlay installed. On my first visit to Audio One, I was warmly greeted by Mr. Jeff, who guided me through the process. He recommended a Sony head unit based on excellent online reviews. Jeff was pleasant and helpful throughout. I also wanted a backup camera installed, and he took care of that as well, ordering all the necessary parts for my car. About a week later, I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 on a Saturday morning. I arrived at 10:10, expecting the doors to be open so I could wait inside, but they didn't open until exactly 10:30--my only minor concern. Once inside, they promptly took my car and completed the installation of the backup camera and head unit in about 2.5 hours. When I picked up my car, everything was clean, and both the backup camera and head unit worked perfectly. However, I started hearing a buzzing noise, which I initially thought was due to the new head unit. I called Jeff, and he quickly assisted me. I brought the car back in, and the technician identified that the noise was coming from my State Farm tracker, not the head unit. Once I removed the tracker, the noise disappeared. In regards to the Va Beach branch, prices are fair, but as far as warranties they are pathetic. they never follow up, they're good at saying they are sorry but once the phone hangs up your forgotten. Going on 6 weeks and no fix, have gotten plenty excuses which were debunked I would welcome correspondence from the owner of the audio1's and let him know the bs that goes on at his stores. As for the Chesapeake branch Ive always been quoted considerably higher than the Va Beach store. read more

I called Audio One in Va Beach and talked to Chris about updating my existing Carplay and multimedia system in my 9 year old Toyota. Chris gave me a great and reasonably priced recommendation. Initially, I called the Toyota Dealership and they said updating the multimedia system is very expensive ($4,000 +) and referred me to Audio One. Chris quoted a cost for a Sony system for $1,200 which included the labor for installation. It is super intuitive and easy to use. Once my system was installed, Chris took the time to give me a step by step tutorial on how to use the new Carplay and multimedia system. It is so much better to have the updated technology. read more

I had my factory AM/FM stereo swapped out for a factory AM/FM w/Bluetooth in my wife's Hyundai. Chris was super friendly, answered all of my questions on the phone and saved me a slot to get it done today! (I have used them before for my old '93 Jeep years ago, so I knew that their work was good and reasonably priced). Recently had a subwoofer installed in my truck. It turned out the enclosure was improperly made by the manufacturer. Before I had to ask, the guys over here called the manufacturer and Insisted that something was wrong with the enclosure and that it needed to be replaced. Once the new enclosure came in I brought my truck back for the sub to be reinstalled. Within an afternoon they had everything back together and ready to go and did all the work on my truck the second time free of charge. Couldn't get payment information on the financing I used to get my car worked on until after I left . Was approved for $1400 so I thought it was cool. Now I'm locked in at $70 a week out my bank account and if I don't pay it off in 3 months I'll owe more than double. The remote start with the drone app barely works. Sometimes when I start the car and try to pull off it shuts off. The radio is basic af but costs $500. read more

I went to this place to price out an amp and subwoofer with installation. They tried to sell me a Rockford Fosgate p1000Xbd for 599.99! I looked it up online while the guy took a call an found it for 377.99!!! I asked about a price match and he could only due 10% off. What a rip off. Be aware of these guys. I've been involved with car audio for the last 18 years so I know prices. I can only imagine how may people got scammed here already. read more

I went there to have a backup camera installed and had to wait there almost three hours while they were working on it and the installation did not work since the backup camera I took there they could not get it to work. I still got charged 120 dollars for this totally disappointing experience. read more

If I could rate lower, I would. I wanted to stay local and now I wish I went to someone who knew what they were doing. I took my first car to them and they did a decent job to install and new radio and Bluetooth. It cost $500 for the job to be done, which was a little much but it was important for me to stay local. Then I took my second car to them to get a new radio. It's a classic car, so I was hesitant. However, they assured me they knew what they were doing since they have done many. They ended up installing the radio wrong and it killed my battery leaving me stranded until I could call for assistance. I explained the issue and they told me it was not there fault and said it was a risk for me to install a new radio... which no one explained to me during the inspection process. Moe than $400 later, Audio One said they would not fix my issue and gave me a generic email to contact. More issues ensued after this. The staff was not friendly, and it took several months to fix the issue of them fixing a problem they caused. I beg you to go somewhere else. They are expensive for no reason and have caused so many issues for such a simple project. Please stay away if you have a classic car, this place is not worth it. read more
