My friend stumbled upon this spot while going to the Verizon store. Seeing as we were hungry, we decided to check it out. Let me tell you Augies did not disappoint. I mean from the minute we walked in the staff was extremely friendly. The young lady suggested her favorites from their menu and gave us time to decide. The music was great, but the food was to die for. My friend ordered the salmon and grits while I choose the catfish and grits. We got a side of French toast, and eggs. It was like love at first bite the flavors kept coming. I one hundred percent recommend this place for anybody in the Atlanta area. It is a must stop for me and my friends. The waffle had an interesting streusel glaze and some powdered sugar along with strawberries and blueberries. Great twist on a classic. It's a very nice addition to our regular breakfast haunts. The atmosphere of this place is reminiscent of a small mom and pop diner. Although it seems small there is plenty of seating with a covered outdoor option as well. The waitstaff could have been a little more responsive but they were busy and very friendly. There were so many items on the menu I wanted to try but I settled with the catfish sandwich with fries and my mom had the shrimp and grits. We were both highly satisfied with our selections and the French fries were plentiful and the most delicious. There is a fully stocked bar and we visited on a Saturday afternoon and was offered bottomless mimosas for $20 pp. I's recommend this nice lowkey family friendly spot to anyone. read more

I first visited Augie's Breakfast Bar back in June when they first opened this location. I was randomly in the area in search of breakfast food and this place popped up so I decided to stop by. The food was amazing and I loved the service. Today was supposed to be my second visit and I was really looking forward to sharing the great experience I had the first time with my friend visiting. Upon entering we were greeted by the cook who told us to sit wherever we like. After taking our seats on the patio. It took about 10-15mins for us to get water from the "busser" who didn't say anything else upon approaching the table. My friend asked could we place our orders with her to which she replied "the server would be right over". The server never came. Needless to say after making it through the next 5 songs on the old school R&B playlist they had on repeat we decided to leave. No one said anything to us on the way out. read more

My boyfriend ordered french toast and I ordered the pancakes. Both were equally good. I also ordered a biscuit just to try it and it was divine! The best biscuit I had while in Atlanta! The only negative was there was only 1 server for the whole restaurant so things moved a bit slow at times. I didn't get my water refilled ever and our food sat there a while (we could see it in the open kitchen) until one of the cooks brought it over. The food was still hot so not a problem. I thought 20 minutes is ample time for a breakfast sandwich. I was wrong. The kitchen and the host stand are in the same area so as I'm asking about my sandwich, I hear the chef say oh I can go ahead and throw that on the manager says no we're holding up the kitchen for 20 minutes. The chef says oh it's just a sandwich I can do this really quickly, but the manager never comes and updates me. Yes I can hear y'all but the proper thing to do would be to let me know that it's coming up. Then I get the sandwich and it's sausage links cut up on a biscuit. The eggs and grits were bland. I had expected more and was disappointed. I ate most of my pancakes (and 1 strawberry) without being served any syrup or condiments, which it needed. This place is so cute! I went here on a breakfast date and it was so chic. They constantly played Michael Jackson on the radio and its decor is so vintage, makes me feel like I'm in a diner. Anyways, onto the food, so I got "Don't Stand Close to me" omelette with a waffle! So delicious and filling, I could barely finished my omelette, much less get started on my waffle! My date got something, not sure the name, really don't matter because he for sure ate it all up!! Grits were great. I had water to drink. Service was fast and servers were kind and courteous. It's definitely not a place where I will frequent often, but for fast and efficient service I would return. My bill was $19 dollars. I despise what COVID did to the restaurant industry. There's automatic gratuity (20%) added to each check. I do not have a problem adequately tipping for great service, but the tip is based on the service I receive. Never less than 15% (for absolute subpar service). Apologies, I forgot to take a picture of my food but if you use your imagination it came out with the grits in a separate bowl.
