Dr. Alan Sevy at Augusta Dental is a gem of a doctor and his staff is terrific. In addition to being an excellent dentist, Dr. Sevy is sincere and compassionate. At Augusta Dental you will NOT experience any of the following: 1) being upcharged/overcharged; 2) being diagnosed with a condition you do not have (e.g., gum disease), especially by a hygenist and not the doctor; 3) receiving a billing statement that you cannot understand (even if you possess a law degree); and 4) having a hygenist who pushes unnecessary products on you. Sadly, I experienced all of these things, singularly or combined, from the three different area dental practices I visited prior to my good fortune in finding Dr. Sevy. And most importantly - they take great care of your teeth. Their cleanings and exams are carefully done and thorough. My hygienist, Karol, is so friendly and great at what she does. And Dr. Sevy is very knowledgeable and does a fantastic job with whatever you need. They are generally always on time for my appointments. I've never had to wait for more than a few minutes. On one occasion, I did have a dental emergency and they were able to get me in right away for an exam, which I definitely appreciated! The office is very clean and conveniently located. Not to me, but to some perhaps, but what it says to me? The extra effort is always appreciated! Scheduling? Top notch, tech-saavy, never an issue. Cleanliness, in the C-19 epoch? Second to none. I've always avoided dentists. Roughly 2 years ago, I went to another dentist for a checkup and almost everything went wrong with that visit. The cleaning was super painful. While I understand some of it was unavoidable, it felt like they were unnecessarily being rough with my teeth and gums. The billing portion was not fun either. They couldn't tell me what the charges would be until after, which is odd. Fat forward to my appt with Dr. O and his staff. They are all wonderful and super polite! The hygienist seemed extremely knowledgeable in her job and was gentle enough with my cleaning. Dr. O is professional and has been practicing his trade very long. I firmly believe that you'd be hard pressed to find a dentist of this caliber anywhere around the local area. If you're searching for a dentist, or looking to switch, do not pass up Augusta dental. My long time dentist retired and sold his practice to Dr Sevy. I was apprehensive at first, but have been very happy with the service all the way around. The biller is totally knowledgeable about my insurance and I have received more benefits than before. I got two crowns last year and have not had a moment of trouble with them. I broke a tooth yesterday and he fit me in today, working with me in between already scheduled patients. His staff are kind and helpful, and he is aware of new technologies. Went in for a cleaning and everything seemed okay. Staff was friendly. I went in again for 3 fillings on two different sides of my mouth and it was honestly a horrible visit. When asking them about dental procedures make sure to verify with your insurance first. They will come up with numbers way different than what they tell you originally.
