Went in for a cleaning and everything seemed okay. Staff was friendly. I went in again for 3 fillings on two different sides of my mouth and it was honestly a horrible visit. When asking them about dental procedures make sure to verify with your insurance first. They will come up with numbers way different than what they tell you originally. Not sure how Dr. O has gone unrated on yelp all this time. I'm a picky guy about dentists but came to Dr. O for whitening, a crown, and ended up there for 5 years now, I even see him for my cleanings when I'm in town even since I moved. I pay cash and his prices are great and doesn't offer any unnecessary work or xrays. He and his staff have decades of experience and their work is fast and as pleasant as going to the dentist gets. Been going to Augusta dental for years. Since new ownership I am seeing some good changes, not that Dr. O was t superb, but it's nice to see the new doc do his thing and run his business. I will say the hygienist that took care of my son and I (please forgive me I forgot her name, but she is tall) is beyond fabulous. I have never had a hygienist educate me and tell me the why behind my X-rays etc. Shes absolutely amazing. Great service from the doctor as well. My whole family goes to this practice and they are all so kind. Lots of these dental places want to sell you on additional services. On a recommendation, I began going to August Dental since shortly after they opened the office. Dr O had a personality rarely found in professionals; someone with whom I connect. Also, the entire staff was compassionate, warm & made me feel like they were glad to see me. Everyone feels like family & they welcome you into theirs! I've been through very few staff changes although there are people like Catherine & April who have been here from the get-go! Typically, a employer who truly likes & respects his staff gets the same in return; you can feel the sense of family. Dr O genuinely cares about his patients on so many levels - not just as a patient but as a person. On very few occasions have I had to wait past my appointment time. I know how they respect every patient's well-being so it never upset me that someone else was receiving the outstanding attention & focus they required. After a wait of perhaps 15 minutes, I was never rushed to "make up time". Attention & care is individual! I can't say enough about this dentist! I will begin with saying this dental office is the best in NV! You wont find a better dentist or staff. Dr O isn't just a great dentist but also a very patient, kind hearted man. He's extremely knoweledgeable in profession with a light touch. I recently moved to Henderson from Nj and was having a huge problem. When I called the office I told woman I was new here and having a bad problem. They told me to come in tomorrow moring and the doctor would see me. The receptionist was nothing but kind and professional. The day of the appointment went very well and I was in and out in no time at all. Pain free and I hate going to any dentist. I have a terrible fear that I will have pain. Well I have been to see Dr O a few times now and he's as painless as can be with a light touch. I still have to go back but now I don't mind. I can't say if the dentist is good or not because I have not personally used them nor will I ever due to the front office's questionable practices. Recently a 3rd party requested that I provide Augusta dental with my new insurance, I chose not to. So because they had a appointment for someone who was covered by my previous dental insurance without my knowledge or permission (I'm the policy holder) they did research and "found" my new insurance. The only reason I ever knew about this is because there was a mistake on my new insurance, and Augusta called me and asked me to fix it. They never asked me if it was ok to proceed, and I would have not known that they used my ins until after the fact if this mistake was not on my insurance. Quick tip to the front office, if someone does not provide information to you that means they don't want you to have it, doing "research" to get such information seems unethical. I could be wrong about that so I will call my insurance provider to get their opinion. read more
