Walked away with some merch I have gotten compliments on - trendy and classy but still going to rep this vineyard and tasting room across Texas! We walked right in and were seated at a table immediately. So it's not a huge spot, but there are lots of outside tables. Plus, the patio and bar area is super cute, and the vibes are great here. It wasn't terribly scenic with a view over vineyards, but there is an adorable backdrop where we took group and couple photos. We each got the tasting ($25). The woman doing our tasting was knowledgable and quick to get us through our tasting without rushing us out. The wines were not overly sweet and the tasting was very balanced. The Viognier was good, the red blend was delicious as well. We didn't eat here, but the menu looked decent for small bites if someone wanted to. Definitely would come back and split a bottle here, the wine was great and the ambiance relaxed and fun. read more

The rose was the best rose I've ever had. Not too dry and not too sweet. The service was also amazing and we definitely recommend!

We started out our tour with the friendliest service this side of the Pecos! Amazing ambiance sitting beside the huge limestone fireplace on the porch, sipping Viognier... who knew it was the perfect breakfast wine! We had a scheduled tasting on July 4th and due to a major storm, the winery had closed. We showed up and our appointment was not on the books but the owner warmingly welcomed us in and started the tasting. There were several other folks that showed up to the winery and instead of saying we are closed, sorry, she called in reinforcement and opened the tasting room. I have a lot of respect for the owner, her knowledge, and the experience she and Lil provided today. The wine was AMAZING and I truly cannot thank them enough for their customer service and the great experience they gave to us!! We will be back! read more

Give this family-owned winery a try! Glad it was very pet friendly. Stopped in today kind of last minute. So glad we did. 100% Texas wine with fast, friendly service. We did a mixed wine tasting and enjoyed every wine. Our favs were the Souzao, Tempranillo and Rose. The Rose was good and not too sweet. Tempranillo was very smooth. Our favorite was the Souzao, a type of wine made from grapes normally from Portugal. We left with a a couple bottles of Souzao, plus a Tempranillo and a Rose. read more

After a day of visiting different vineyards and wineries in town, this location did not come close to or to other locations. After viewing other individuals reviews and local recommendations, this is not a location for outsiders. This spot could be great for locals. Walking in, staff and guests, continued to stare at my partner unsure of what the issue was. There was a live band playing and we were excited to have a bottle a wine and listen to music. Staff at bar informed us that we were "welcomed" to go outside with our glass. As, we continued to stand there to try to hear the band, we were approached again by staff to go sit outside. We were the only people outside. Staff members continued to look at us as if we were going to steal the glasses, because they continued to look outside to us every couple minutes. As we returned the glasses, staff did not offer us more glasses or asked us if we needed anything else. They walked behind us and watched us drive off. Not sure of individuals personal views, but as people of different ethnicities, we did feel excluded and unwelcome. I am glad others were able to enjoy their experience there. read more

There are a lot of wineries on the 290 road that have grand entrances and a little more touristy. What I love most about this place is the staff and the ambiance. Our server was knowledgeable about the wines and she even suggested to us some more local restaurants in town. We loved the wine so much we bought about 4 bottles! Can't wait to open them at home. This was the first stop we made on the wine tour we took over the weekend and it was by far our favorite stop! Each employee was so nice, struck up a conversation with everyone and knew the wine we were tasting very well. The Malbec was AMAZING! Everyone in our group of 7 went away with a bottle. One of the owners was doing the tasting with us and she was so lovely. She told about how she got into the winery business and what she wants to do with the lovely place she has. This 100% Texas winery near Fredericksburg is a must for lovers of fine wines. Texas Heritage Vineyard started planting their vines in 2015 and opened the tasting room on Highway 290 in 2018. As we see with all young wineries across the globe, it takes time to evolve into the style of wines that fit the vision of the winery and the Johnson family has done a great job. Today we spent a little time with daughter Jessica and their winemaker, Tyler, and could really feel the sense of style as we tasted through their current wines. Of particular note is the current Lizzie Rose, which is sporting a lovely new label this vintage. And the Souza was bold but smooth and quite nicely balanced. Their tastings are now hosted outside and we were blessed with a beautiful day that enhanced the tasting. Add these guys to your list the next time you're tasting in the hill country! read more

We visit the Texas wine country every year. We try to find new spots every trip. We stopped in Heritage Thursday. The server was very friendly and the wines were good. The space has a lot of potential. It would have been nice to have had some background music (C&W or jazz) rather than ESPN blaring from the corner of the room. I'm used to seeing that at a sports bar, not a tasting room. The patio was beautiful if you kept you vision straight out- would be nice to somehow screen out the properties on either side. One last thing- the front faces 290- put blinds on the front windows to block out the constant traffic. This place has so much potential- I hope they succeed! read more
