I work in the neighborhood and every now and then stop by the many thrift stores East Village has. this is one of the smallest, but the cutest of them. I didn't even know about this one until a few days ago when I spotted it on my way back from work. Actually, it's a pretty interesting place. I wasn't a fan of their dresses or shoes fashion-wise, but the jewelry was pretty cheap and had some good finds! Mostly focused on gold/silver colored bracelets and necklaces that are pretty large and visible in size. read more

My girlfriend absolutely loves this place. Every time we are in the area for anything, she makes sure to go there and browse for a bit-- and she usually leaves with something. Yes, it's a small space, but it feels like every item has been hand-picked and curated by the staff. We've met the owner a few times, super cool. Her staff is friendly and helpful. I got caught in the rain today and happened to be near AuH2O. It is a very small vintage clothing store but I love what it offers. You should be able to find something here that is nice, chic, and what's more, cheap (as opposed to, for example, the store just across the street, Tokio7). I got myself a super cute navy shirt with white Japanese flower pattern for $8. The store owner is very nice, too. I'll definitely come back. read more

A very limited selection. I took home a pair of vintage high waisted Jordache jeans that fit me like a glove for $15, and a red printed square scarf for $7. A little pricey for second-hand items. Will come back again since the selection, though small, is quite stylish. read more

Saw this was recommended on Yelp and wanted to do some thrifting while on holiday and was not disappointed!!! Great selection for very reasonable prices. Let it be known upfront that I have shopped there only once and it was because of a Google Offer coupon. I must say I was satisfied with the service. I love this thrift shop! The owner is super friendly and I love the selection of clothing she has. The shop itself is a little on the small side but the clothing it carries are of a cute and modern style. I found a variety of brands here, including American Apparel, F21, and Superdry. Kate the owner is an amazingly hard working girl boss who has excellent curatorial taste when it comes to building an inventory that is always on-trend, yet timeless. In terms of second hand and vintage stores, AuH2o hits the mark, and doesn't have the pretentious unwelcoming vibe that plagues so many NYC second hand boutiques. The price point is extremely reasonable which boosts the thrifting morale, and leaves you wanting to come back and see what else they'll bring in. Quality is always on point, and you can find anything from unnamed vintage items, to bigger names like Marc by Marc or Nanette Lepore. My friend and I took our daughters out shopping for the day today. We drove down from from LI to check a few of the thrift store review on this site and this store was one of the worse. The smell you get as soon as you walked in made it hard to stay. There selection is poor and prizes are even worse. We didn't stay long cause of the smell and few selection they have. read more

I'm an avid thrift store addict and this was just ok. Like others said, it was a tiny store with a more retro vibe (IMO). Great if you're into the 50s-60s look, and a couple of everyday wear things, but small selection. Prices were reasonable. The owner was nice and people seemed to know her. Happened upon this store by walking past it. Was lured in by the $5 rack outside that had adorable summer dresses (amongst other items) hanging on it. Once inside I was dazzled by the owner's great taste. Simple, accessible, and very chic. I wasn't all that impressed since I went yesterday and the jewelry was really expensive for a thrift shop. Prices range from $12-$20 for simple necklaces that I can easily get nearly a replica at a store like forever21 or h&m. The decent earrings were $8 and up. There was also tax here? I bought a bracelet labelled $5 but when I went to pay, the worker, male, said $5.44 and I was so confused, but I bought the bracelet anyway. The main brand apparel were really cheap however. There was some uniqlo flannels that were going for $12. My friend saw this pin that she liked and the price tag was missing. It was a really small item and she asked the associate and he said it was $5 or $6. My friend was just about to put it down since $6 for a small pin that was the size of her thumb is seriously overpriced. And then she found the tag and it said $3 which was the price that I estimated earlier. A lot of the bags and shoes were really really worn out but expensive at the same time. The $5 rack outside did have one or two adorable pieces. The bin next to it was just so dusty and it clearly shows that no one has taken the pieces out of the bin to take care of the apparel within. read more

This is by far the best thrift store I've been to in the city thus far, and the women who work there are super friendly. It is PERFECT for girls and young college students looking for unique and inexpensive clothes and accessories. The store is tiny--the perfect size, because nothing is overwhelming and it's possible to look through every piece of clothing or jewelry to find the perfect fit--and the items are VERY well curated. This store is a goldmine for chunky cableknit sweaters, retro dresses, and fabulous jackets. You'll pay between $10 and $20 for a piece you can wear forever. There is a great balance of looks in the store as well--a sexy red velvet cocktail frock hangs next to a floor-length gauzy maxi-dress; on the other rack there are super-sweet pastel blouses and sweater vests, as well as leather skinny pants. And you never have to worry about checking the price tag with dread--I've found full winter coats with faux-fur collars and thick lining for literally $35 dollars there, and that's probably the highest price tag I've encountered. There is also a fabulous jewlery selection, as well as a $1 accessories bin, a $5 rack, and a $10 rack. No where else on St. Marks can you find clothes this nice this cheap. All in all, GO HERE. After I found this store I've rarely shopped anywhere else. I've never once left without making a purchase or wanting desperately to make one. Everyone I've recommended this to has loved it and I'm sure you will too! read more

This is going to seem odd but I think one of my favorite things about this shop is the lack of that mothball/mildew smell that seems to come hand in hand with vintage. The selection is small but always interesting. The staff is lovely and inviting. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything. The clothing is in beautiful condition; There is not a spot, stain, torn seam, ripped zipper or loose thread to be found. All in all, a great find. read more

My only complaint is the size of the shop/the volume of merchandise: there's lovely stuff to be had, but there just isn't enough of it! The woman working at the counter during my visit was wonderful: helpful but not pushy. The selection of rings was great, but...there wasn't quite enough in the shop to justify visiting the area only to shop. I would give AuH2O 4.5 stars if I could! I've seen this shop on Yelp! before but I only went because I was in the area, and my friend suggested we go, and I'm glad we did! The shop is small but bright and clean, with 4 racks of clothes from $5 to maybe $20, $25, with a shoe rack and hangbag section in one corner and a jewelry section near the front of the store. I loved all the jewelry and bags, and I found a cute black top with an embossed filigree print on it that I unfortunately was too lazy to try on and put back on the rack, only to have my friend try it on and love it. Seeing it on her made me want it but of course, it was one of a kind! However, I was able to walk out with a gold chain and bracelet that I love and I know i'll be wearing almost everyday, and a small cognac crossbody bag I knew I had to have the moment I saw it! I'm definitely going to be visiting again. The only reason why it's not a 5 star review is because of the small selection of items, but then again, it's nice to not have to shift through racks and racks of things. The lady at the desk was quite friendly and nice, and gave me a great price for the bag without a tag. I'm so glad I walked into this store today! read more

A small but cozy thrift shop. There are fewer racks than I expected and the collection is somewhat limited. However, everything is in good condition and reasonably priced (actually quite inexpensive). I bought 3 pieces of clothing items and paid a total of $53. Will definitely go back sometime. read more
