After searching far and wide for Ginger cookies in Paradise Valley i was excited to see that Aunt Abby's was just down the street from us! I wandered in and was greeted by the lovely owner herself- she was friendly and informative! I picked up a few ginger cookies and they were a HIT!! It seems they definitely do more large catering orders etc but you can definitely walk in and just pick up a few yummy treats they have already prepared without pre ordering! This place has THE best cookies! I came because I was eating at a neighborhood restaurant and decided to stop by for something sweet. Their lemon tart butter cookies are sooooooo delicious! So delicious that I went to another bakery a week or so after visiting and there definitely was no comparison!!! They even make cakes too! The older woman that works there is sooo darn sweet too! I wanted to do something to congratulate my step son on his new venture as a cruise director aboard an NCL ship. I randomly found Aunt Abby's while searching for bakeries before a flight back to AZ from the east coast. I asked if they can do anything custom based on our wanting to celebrate this event. They quickly came up with the concept of finding the exact ship and putting it on a dozen sugar cookies. My order was ready the very next day and I was truly blown away by the quality of their work and how they went above and beyond to get this order completed in 24 hours. The owners were SO nice and truly passionate about their business. They were so friendly and took a genuine and sincere interest in me as a customer and a person. Stopped by today since I was around the area and picked up some macarons. I've tried 2 other places that "specialize" in macarons and they do not live up to Aunt Abby's. I have not been disappointed with any of the flavors I've had. Today, I ordered Bailey's, some sort of sin chocolate, and a strawberries & champagne macaron. Last time, I believe I ordered 6 different flavors. I don't know the gentleman that helped me but he was really friendly! When I walked in this morning, everyone inside was really busy and it was good to hear that business is going great. I was also told that they are moving a couple doors down to a bigger location. I cannot wait to see the new place! I even tried a gluten-free cookie today and it was ahhhh-mazing! I was recommended the chocolate lava cookie and it did not disappoint. I wanted to save it until I got to work but it definitely did not make it a mile away from the bakery. Can't wait to go back and try some more macaron flavors and cookies! I might sound crazy... I was introduced to this place by my work that was giving out treats to us for our hard work. The cookies were by far the most amazing things I have had in a loooonnnng time. They were soft, delicious, chewy (when needed to be) and melt in your mouth. Fast forward to July of this year, and I needed to mail a gift to a friend in Arizona but I was no longer there....so I called and they were able to deliver (yes there is a fee but they can let you know what it will be when you call)! The oatmeal raisin is one of the best I've had - nice and moist, not the typical dry, overly chewy kind, with lots of nice spices. The ginger biscotti, dipped in good quality chocolate, was more moist than usual, good for eating with or without dipping. These are the kinds of cookies that will hold up well during shipping. So I am a very loyal customer to this Bakery. I've used them in the past for my sons party . They specialize in fondant cakes .I placed a order and paid for my cake a week before the party. The day Of the party I picked the cake up And unannounced to me my cake was horrible and no where up to par as far as the company standard . I stressed to them that my cake was not what I wanted and was sloppy. The general manger told me that the baker was out of town and she had to use who she could FINd. No one told me anything..I was pissed because I take pride in my sons birthday party . After leaving the GM told me I could have a refund and I accepted for there poor lack of service but then later on in the conversation changed her mind and told me I would have to bring the cake back .. are u serious . I don't see why I should have to do thst after you all offered me a refund and makes me pay for a cake that wasn't up to part. I'm done with this place and their games. I had a not so stellar experience ordering from Abby's, but their honesty (and completly delicious treats) keeps this review up in the 4 star range :) I ordered macaroons for my best friend's birthday from here, even though I'd never actually set foot in the place (I live out of state). My friend had never tried a macaroon before, so I knew I had to find the *best* ones for her birthday! The reviews for Abby's were great and the treats looked amazing - they were absolutely wonderful over the phone too (I even spoke with Abby herself)! She was helpful and funny, and after I placed my order, I was extremely happy with the service and SO excited. Sadly, the delivery date came and went, and, come to find out, they had completley forgotten about my order. :( I even had to call myself to find out what happened several days later. I was obviously disappointed, but I appreciated Abby's honesty about it and her kind promise to deliver them ASAP. My friend, of course, ended up loving them. I can't in good conscience give Abby the 5 stars she probably deserves any other day, but I do definitely recommend using her for deliveries and the in-person treat for yourself!
