We stopped at Aunt Cookies sub shop for a quick bite during our travel. The place was really busy but Kat at the counter patiently took our order and also helped set up a table for us based on our request. We ordered 2 12" veggie subs with extra toppings - olives, pickle and green peppers in seeded bread. The subs were very fresh and bread was delicious. It was perfectly made and the portion was generous. We really enjoyed our meal - special shout out to Kat for amazing service! Only feedback would be on very limited vegetarian options, would be interesting see creativity around few veg options. I would highly recommend Aunt Cookies Sub Shop to anyone looking for a quick simple meal options / sandwiches in the area.

At the advice of friends, we stopped here to pickup lunch for a picnic in Letchworth State Park. This unassuming shop has great sandwiches on the BEST breads. We had our subs on Italian bread which was lightly toasted. Toppings and condiments were fresh and generous. The mac salad reminded me of something I enjoyed as a kid at a family reunion. We also snagged some Loganberry, which I've not had since college. This was a great stop and we will be back to fuel up for our future Letchworth hikes. Don't mind my photos where they got slightly smashed in our cooler. I can attest that they were AWESOME!

My brother has been raving about Aunt Cookies for years so today we ventured south to get a sub. Good lord was that sub fantastic. I had a seemingly simple turkey sub that was anything but simple. Every single bite of the sub was perfection. Highly recommend

This sub place is a staple to the Geneseo community. It also has some of the best subs I have ever had in my life. I keep wanting to try other meats, but always get the first one I ever tried because its so good. I get the Italian assorted with all the standard toppings. It is toasted to perfection! Right in the heart of downtown this place is a true gem! I will one day have to try their other meats, looking forward to the tuna salad.

Still incredible subs. If you have fond memories of this place, fear not, the subs are essentially the same as they have ever been.

Good tasting subs for a great price. Tastier than subway by a lot! Lots of tasty option. We got the capicola on Italian. Fair prices.

Candlelit tables and dim sconces on the walls provided a warm, inviting vibe. Surprisingly, the server who greeted us knew us by name and warmly welcomed us to the National Hotel. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The meal was coursed out perfectly and we enjoyed every bite. Stuffed mushrooms to start were piping hot and flavorful in a ramekin of butter. The hottest thing in Cuylerville was the freshly baked bread-in-a-bag! Perfect to get every morsel of mushroom soup out of our bowls. Usually you have to choose between soup OR salad, not here! We got a fresh greens garden salad following the soup! Our main entrées of steak were perfectly cooked to temp and tasted great with the red wine. The mashed potatoes were fluffy, flavorful and satisfying. Peanut butter and chocolate pie brought our experience to a close. To wrap up the evening, we got to thank the chef and her husband for an amazing dining experience. This is one of a kind gem and we look forward to our next visit. Bring a loved one, go for a special date night or just stop in to treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.

McGuire, in the 1800s when it was the Genesee Hotel - this restaurant has about a century and a half of history in the area and deserves to be classified as an historic landmark. It is also one my grandmother's favorite restaurants, and she's eaten there for decades. Last night, she turned 95 and we put the old YoA to the test, booking a dinner party for roughly 20 people, in the restaurant's private room. Our waitress was absolutely on her game, getting orders for drinks, appetizers, meals and dessert out as promptly as she could given the size of our party with no mistakes or fumbling of people's orders. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and the Tournados (steak fillets with seafood stuffing and hollandaise sauce) with rice pilaf as my main course, and both were delicious. The kitchen will do steak all the way down to rare but won't serve it blue, probably for safety reasons since they're not a dedicated steakhouse. For dinner I got the NY cheesecake with wild strawberries and sauce, and it was wonderful. A five course meal (bread, appetizer, salad, main, dessert) plus drinks cost me a little shy of $90, so I thought the price was more than fair. The wine list is limited (I asked for a dry white wine and got a choice between a sauvignon blanc and a pinot grigio. I went with the blanc and it was light, crisp, and delicious with a lot of pear notes - a good choice on the part of whoever on the YoA's staff handles sommelier duty. I didn't get a chance to ask the waitress for a snapshot of the bottle and I wish I had. For a cocktail, I ordered an old fashioned, and this is the kind of place where you can go up to the bar and order a cocktail like that and the bartender won't bat an eye before getting out the muddler. If it's your birthday, be sure to tell the waitress - I believe that they give you a free lava cake dessert for your birthday. If you order a dish like the chicken parm here the portion they serve you will be massive - two or three breaded chicken cutlets covered with mozz over pasta and sauce. This is not a restaurant that does haute cuisine portions; the old roadside inn sensibilities remain in place in places like the YoA, you expect to be fed and feed you they will. Now that I've said all that, remember, de gustibus - but if you're visiting Letchworth Park or otherwise out in Livingston County I recommend you call and book a table. And you should absolutely call ahead, the locals tend to pack the place.

We pulled up and the parking lot was packed(that's a good sign). We went in and were greeted and seated right away. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. I loved the decor, it gave a small town charm, with a little bit of history. The appetizers were delicious and the bread too! Drinks were good. Our main dishes were had cheeseburgers and they were good. Overall a good experience, nice ambiance, low volume in the dining area. We would definitely be back to try the Prime Rib next time (we got there late so they sold out). Thank you for a great experience.
