Visited for the first time since they converted from a buffet to family style. Overall, a good choice for dinner when going to Dollywood. Picked 3 meats: pork loin, pot roast and fried chicken. Tucked not far from the entrance at Dollywood Amusement Park, Aunt Granny's is hard to miss. We had the pleasure of dining there yesterday. Although the food was fantastic, there were other things that left much more to be desired. Let's start with the good - the food: everything was simply delicious. The set up allows for you to pick 3 different meats, several sides, and a dessert per person out of a large selection. The food is set up buffet style, but you tell the server what you want, and they pick up the servings for you. You can have refills on anything, although for us it was not necessary. For sitting under heat lamps, the food was ON POINT. The fried chicken and catfish was crispy and tender. The sausage and peppers were phenomenal (I'm a tough critic coming from an Italian family). The side the stood out to me was the mac and cheese - creamy with al dente elbow pasta. Now, the bad - the hostess. We waited outside at the stand where no one was. Five minutes later, the hostess arrived, didn't say anything to us and stared at her iPad (we were the only ones out front), finally looked up and continued in silence until I said something. She said they're cleaning tables and just to wait here. More people arrived and formed a sort of and I passed that message along. 10 minutes go by and she invites a group of people in that arrived way after us. No organization or method. Luckily, the people were honest and said we had gotten there first. The hostess slowly walked us to our table, cold, stone faced without saying a word of how the restaurant works and if we should wait for our server. Maybe she was knew, but it was the complete opposite of southern hospitality. Second, the place was rather dirty. The floor was covered in food. I slipped on a piece of fried morsel on the floor by our table and looked down to also see several chicken bones. I saw one person sweeping up around the restaurant, so maybe chalk that one up to the never end problem of difficult staff numbers we're all facing today. Great food. But definitely room for improvement in other areas. As one of the limited sit down options in Dollywood, I would recommend Old Granny's just because the food was so amazing. read more

Ok, I haven't seen a bad review of this place. But sorry, this place wasn't good. I'll start out with the pro's...we got there around 11:45 am and it was empty so we were seated immediately. The waitstaff was very nice and friendly and helpful. Our waitress was attentive. The food came out very quickly. It was all you can eat so there was certainly plenty of food and there was a big variety of items. The cons...the food itself was pretty awful. The green beans were mushy and incredibly salty, corn pudding was just some dry type of tasteless cornbread-y thing, sausage and peppers were like the cheapest quality sausage, tasteless, greasy, very bad, and also no peppers were in it, the fried chicken was dry as a bone, mashed potatoes were fine, Mac & cheese was just a big gooey mess and not in a good way. Way too much cheesy sauce and the macaroni was mushy. Banana pudding for dessert mediocre. Overall, just really a really bad meal. Honestly, just stick with some fast food place in the park and forget this place. read more

Aunt Granny's Buffet is a good lunch or dinner spot if you are in the park and do not want walk up. It is sit down, family style with unlimited refills. It is pricy for our family of 5, but since you get 3 entrees and 4 sides, and dessert will allow for everyone to find something they like. If you are saving room for the dessert, don't skrimp because the desserts are very small. We chose the fried chicken, catfish, and roast beef. Our sides were macaroni/cheese, corn pudding, green beans, and potatoes. The dishes were a little over cooked for us or had been sitting under the warmers for a little while. read more

Amazing comfort food. Really wonderful. Everything was cooked to perfection. They are not doing the buffet during COVID but they do let you select 2 main courses (meats) for the table and 4 side items for the table and each person gets a dessert of their choice. ALL YOU CAN EAT. The fried chicken may be the best I've had. The veggies were seasoned just right. We got the gravy on the side. The bread pudding was great. Crispy and with cinnamon and pecans. Very good family style meal, with two entrees, four sides, drinks and dessert. We stopped by while at Dollywood on a Sunday afternoon. Even though it was lunchtime (12:30 pm), there was no wait, though we understand that Saturdays and holidays may be much busier. Our server Cynthia was quick with the food and drinks, and she was very kind. The fried chicken was better than the ham, but both were good (and they'll replenish anything that's requested). At about $23/person, it's a good value, considering you can eat until everyone is full. We'd certainly go back if/when back at the park. read more

So it's no longer a buffet, but it still attracts a line of people. Although we were quite happy to find that our 1-1.5 hour wait ended up being only about thirty minutes! The food is now served family style. There are about three sections on the menu and you chose a few from each - we went with fried chicken, fried turkey, pot roast, sweet potato casserole, Mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts and stuffing. The fried chicken was my favorite the last time we visited and was another favorite this time as well! It's super tender and flavorful - you can tell they marinade it! I also love the crunch of breading!! :) My mother liked the turkey and really enjoyed the pot roast (again, tender and flavorful!). The sweet pot casserole was definitely sweet and the Mac and cheese was nicely seasoned (although the sauce was in the thin side). Lastly, the stuffing by was solid! Oh, and I can't forget the bread basket - fluffy little rolls that had some nice seasoning. Solid! My two year old took bites of just about everything but REALLY enjoyed the Mac and cheese. My husband and I heard this restaurant was suppose to be a really good homemade food. It offered a homemade meal, all you can eat with drinks and dessert. The price per person was very high but thought it would be worth it.Until we ate there this past Friday. What a waste of money. Pretty much everything we got was frozen and tasteless. The mashed potatoes looked frozen in the dish but surprisingly were warm. However they were not the real stuff! Everything we ordered had no flavor. Even the ice tea didn't have the best taste, didn't really taste like anything. I wish I would of asked for a refund. So I wouldn't recommend this place. While visiting Dollywood yesterday my husband and I decided to stop here for a home cooked meal and I'm so happy we did ! The buffet style meals were absolutely delicious and it's all you can eat so come hungry - the fried chicken , the pot roast and the ham were delicious as was all of the sides we ordered ! Our waitress was a sweetheart --- we did have to wait about 45 minutes to be seated and when our table was ready they sent us a text ! Our waitress Tina(started with a t) was the creepiest individual who promised my mother in law my children would be charged children's price. When the bill came, she charged them adults without telling us. $18.95 each. Lovey Tina. You're creepy smile and staring at my daughters chest didn't make you the best server in a family restaurant. As for the Buffett, the food was delicious. The carving station with Turkey and Ham was so juicy and not dried out. Just gross. Shocked at the reviews that got me here. Saw this place during the day as we went around the park and was excited to end the day with a nice southern buffet. Sadly we were very disappointed. First off, not many people were in the restaurant (it's about 6 pm). Second, nothing looked good. Very bland looking. Love this place. No matter when u go always has great food. The menu adjust threw out the year. Ally stay the same. It's $18.99 or $9.99 for kids 9 and younger I think. Aunt Granny's has gone from a Buffet to Restaurant. Our group of six adults had the three main dishes with four sides, beverages, and dessert. Three sides (fried chicken, pot roast, and country ham) were chosen for our main dishes. The fried chicken had just a little more grease than I like, but it did taste warm and delicious. The country ham was not too country, and it had a great ham taste. The pot roast was also very tasty. I could have gone with just the fried chicken; it was that good. The sides were also tasty, like they had been slow cooked with plenty of the essential additives. They did not have green pepper sauce for the cabbage. Everything was excellent, especially the biscuits. All you can eat does not apply to dessert. Any way you want to measure it, the dessert is a small measure. My choice was the pumpkin pie but after I ate the small slice, I was hungry for pumpkin pie. The apple caramel pie was even a smaller slice than the pumpkin pie. The pumpkin bread pudding seemed to be the best option. If you don't like pumpkin, bread, or pudding I would not recommend it for you. Our waitress was very efficient and personable. Theme parks may not be the greatest venues for top notch restaurants. However, when you're walking for hours in the unrelenting July sun, all indoor restaurants are appealing. It was 1:30 PM on Monday July 11th and we had been in the park for 3 1/2 hours and were already hot. What we thought was an oasis, was actually Aunt Granny's Buffet. There was a very short line and we knew the inside of the restaurant was air conditioned. We were seated in less than 5 minutes and we all ordered the buffet. We pounded down our drinks and headed to the buffet as our server, whose name I cannot recall, poured us some refills. The buffet features home-style dishes, a salad/dessert bar, a taco bar and an ice cream station. The food was pretty good, and I'd much rather eat here than at any Golden Corral. The better dishes include the chicken (fried & baked), the greens and the fish sticks. These fish sticks were not the processed rectangular logs such as Gorton's or Mrs. Paul's, but rather real filets. The seasoned steamed cabbage was probably the best vegetable offering on the bar, and I helped myself to 2 servings. I never ate any salad but I did try 2 tacos from the taco bar. The tacos were average, but definitely worth trying. For dessert, I had a few brownie bites but didn't want to go overboard as I had several high speed coasters to ride and didn't want to blow any chunks on my co-riders. ;-) All in all, this was a pretty decent restaurant, and it reminded me of the now closed Mooseburger Lodge Buffet at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia California. It enabled us to cool down in an air conditioned environment and we fueled up with enough food to carry us over to dinner. This is a great option to get your Southern food fix while you're in the area and in our case, a great way to escape the rain. You really can't beat the price at 18/person includes a beverage. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Don't miss the fried chicken, fried fish, mac & cheese, greens, mashed potatoes, cheesy biscuits. The soup was over salted. The salad bar looked fresh although I skipped that option. The desserts are yummy, I had the berry crumble and topped it with ice cream. The banana pudding was ok. What impressed me about this place is the service (our server Cindy was amazing!!) and how fresh the food was. The serving dishes are not HUGE (compared to most buffets) so they keep refilling them with even fresher options. Be prepared to wait but it is worth it. Or you could go get an $8 theme park hotdog if you don't want to wait. Also be prepared to do something chill (NOT a rollercoaster) after eating here. We checked out a show after lunch. read more

My husband & I came here to eat during our visit to Dollywood. This is an 'all you can eat' buffet and brags that it offers "southern" food. The lunch prices had gone up and was $15/pp. We paid it and were seated almost instantly. The food was mostly fried chicken and things of that nature. I don't think I ate $15 worth of food especially since I can't eat a ton in one sitting. But I suppose having a 'buffet' of choices was better than paying $8 for a hot dog and not being able to go for seconds. read more

Outside the park, this place would get a 3.5 for quality of food to price. However, the fact that it is inside Dollywood, the food is pretty darn good, all you can eat and priced reasonably for a theme park ($19 for anyone over over 10 and $10 for 10 and under, drink included) it gets a solid 4.5 stars from me. Easily the best "theme park" meal I've had, not counting some of the high end theme restaurants at Disney that are much pricier but better. Plus our waitress was awesome.
