I came here after a long morning hike, around 3pm, and the place was still bustling. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. The boudin balls are a must try.... came out fresh and hot, perfectly seasoned. This would be a great intro if you've never had them and you're not in Louisiana! Had to also try the chicken and sausage gumbo, and this was a 10/10. Good size, if you're not hungry and looking for a little snack, this is perfect. I would even say this is filling enough with an appetizer and the soup. Generous meat portion in the soup as well. The fish was perfectly cooked, not dry whatsoever, and light and crisp exterior! We stopped in for an early lunch and the place was already about half full. The service was very engaging and informative. My wife had a cup of gumbo and a cup of jambalaya and I had half a shrimp po boy and a cup of jambalaya. The food was fantastic. The jambalaya and gumbo were both among the very best we've ever had. We ate there on Friday. It's a cute place and the wait staff was great. Mom & Pop diner with only a few booths and tables. There is so much to choose from! We're from Louisiana and were raised on catfish. I got the Catfish Poboy and several in our party got the catfish/shrimp basket. I immediately thought the catfish seemed off. My husband said later it wasn't the best he'd had. It's expensive too. Baskets are $19.50! The Poboy was $15.00 and a ham & cheese Poboy was $13.25. I'm not much for French Fries but they were amazing; batter dipped and definitely the best thing I ate. The baked beans were watery (never seen that before). I may go back and try something else but only during lunch when the prices are more reasonable (we were seated at 2:01 and missed it by 1 minute). Found by accident while vacationing. Small establishment with very helpful staff. We had a large party, so we called ahead. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated. Simple yet purposeful menu. I selected the crabcakes Orleans. It was 3 crabcakes served atop rice or pasta with a creole sauce and shrimp. Crabcakes were flavorful and had a great mixture of spices. The creole sauce atop was a great addition, I could have used more. Only negative was I found a couple pieces of shell in my crabcakes. Not a big issue, but it is worth mentioning. The people here are so friendly and inviting. It's a sweet spot. We arrived just before the storm of people arrived. There was one other person in the dining room. Their crew behaved like a loving family would. It's located off the beaten path of "Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg". It was such a pleasant experience. Before we finished our food the entire place was full. The food is fantastic! We absolutely loved everything and we ordered as much as we could, we had dinner and leftovers. By far the best Cajun food I've had outside of Louisiana and south Mississippi. I got the oyster poboy and hushpuppies which tasted like home. The hushpuppies weren't sweet like some places and the poboy bread was identical to what you'd get in Nola. The fries are battered and crispy. The shrimp was also good. My mother ordered the roast beef poboy and it was sort of chipped instead of thinly sliced, which I've never seen before and she wasn't terribly impressed with that but it wasn't bad. They have alligator on the menu if you enjoy it. We went on a Saturday for dinner and there was about a 30 minute wait to be seated since it's not very big but well worth it. The staff were all friendly and the owners are from Louisiana, lots of LSU merch and Fleur de Lis accents. My only complaint was the ceiling fans and frigid temps inside. I would ask to be moved next time if seated near a fan. Overall a great local business with authentic food. read more

Great service and great food. A very no-nonsense joint in the lap of the mountains. It's very cute and quaint wrt decor. The wooden chairs outside add perfectly to the decor and vibe of this place. We got the seafood platter - the catfish was soft and flaky inside with a crispy exterior. The fried oysters were amazing and so were the shrimp. Highly recommend the gator appetizer thing. How did they manage to make the gator meat so soft I have no idea! Their fries are also perfect btw. And don't forget to get the slaw with the basket. It's so fresh and compliments perfectly.
