This place is a hidden gem and a great value while you are visiting Dollywood! It is an all you care to eat buffet with southern style favorites. Everything I tried was amazing but some of my favorites were the freshly cut turkey, Brussel sprouts and corn pudding! To finish the meal off make sure to get some of the apple cobbler and top it off with some vanilla soft serve! We have ate here last year and had a great experience. Even with that said I cannot leave anything higher than a 1 star review. We went in sat down waited over 15 minutes for a server to take our drink order. The menu was bit explained which this is a family style meal where what they make that night is what you get. The first portions were not enough for us to even make a decent size plate. We had to wait even longer to put in another order. By this time we were ready to go asked for the check and took an additional 20 minutes. Omg! Love the pulled pork with the bbq sauce all over it! The garlic biscuits comes complimentary and it taste exactly like Red Lobster biscuits but softer. My family and I were chewing the garlic biscuits like they were candy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were 100% real potatoes with beef gravy it seems like. Dessert get Dolly's Parton's banana pudding! So good it's to die for.. The fried chicken was very good. It was supposed to be all you can eat, but the waiter came by once and only brought one of the rwo sides we had reordered. When he came back to take dessert orders he did not really want to get us any more mashed potatoes. Some of our group did not get any. I do not like giving this place only two stars as we love Dollywood, but the food is pretty bad. This is too bad because we used to love Aunt Grannies. The quality of the food keeps dropping. I wish they'd raise the price and serve good quality food. I agree with other reviewers, the green beans are canned and bland, the mashed potatoes taste like instant, the fish and baked chick were just there, the mac and cheese flavorless filler, etc. My wife and I agree their fried chicken is good. The desert bar is full over overly sweet and or mostly tasteless items. What saves this place is that the servers/workers are genuinely friendly and you feel welcome. We ate at "Aunt Granny's All-You-Care-To-Eat lunch buffet", where we found a tasty selection of items including coleslaw, mixed greens salad, assorted fruits, biscuits, muffins, cream of vegetable soup or Chef's selection, green beans, cooked cabbage, pinto beans, turnip greens, buttered corn, buttered noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried chicken, hand carved top round, cornmeal breaded fried fish, baked spaghetti and chicken and dumplings. For dessert, bread pudding, soft serve ice cream, sugar-free JELL-O, assorted cakes and pies. The meal also included hot and cold beverages, as well as apple and orange juice. We ate here for breakfast because we each got a free meal when we purchased our Dollywood tickets online. The breakfast buffet included bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, baked apples, grits, potatoes, and french toast sticks. It was all pretty mediocre, but it filled us up, and we weren't complaining since we didn't have to pay. If we did have to pay for the buffet, I might have felt a bit disappointed. The grits were flavorless and the biscuit was hard. I did like the french toast sticks okay. All in all, I think they could step up their game. I went to Aunt Granny's during Dollywood's Christmas season last year and I am already planning on returning again this December. Great southern food served in a buffet with very friendly service. Lots of holiday themed food like ham, stuffing, turkey, cranberry sauce, etc. While $16 per person may be a lot for the area, for this city slicker it is a steal! Great desserts as well, my only complaint was that I had to duck out of Dolly's Christmas Carol early to take care of some business if you know what I mean. I was at grannys over Christmas holiday.My family and i spent christmas week in pigion forge.I have been to dollywood a few times over the years.I had always wanted to eat at grannys so we did.I was so disappointed in quality of food it was something you would throw out to the pigs.I talked to customers in line that said it was good.I am sorry these people are use to eating slope i have higher standards in food.I eat at othet resturants around pigion forge and i can say that quality of food in the area had dropped.Pigion forge is all about getting as much money out of customers as they can.Years ago dollywood and pigion forge offered good product at fair price.Now its stick it to the customer.Thats what happens when big corporations get involved in businesses.My family will have to find new place to spend holidays.Big business is all about the bottom line quality dose not matter.Big business has now moved in to asheville and is going to destroy what small business owners had built.They are being run out of Asheville just like they ran out small business owners in pigion forge.I feel sorry for small businesses. read more

If I could give this restaurant a negation five I certainly would. I read the reviews before deciding to eat here and I was excited to eat some home cooked country food!! Our entire family was EXTREMELY disappointed and this place was a HUGE let down. The fried chicken looks incredible but had a terrible after taste. The roast beef looked a little dry and tasted worse than it looked. The corn bread rolls LITERALLY fell apart into dust when I took it apart on my plate. I wish I would have taken a picture so that you all could see it. That has never happened to me ... ever! The cat fish was dried up, old and crusty. The banana pudding was full of brown bananas and it was simply instant vanilla pudding, bananas and stale vanilla wafers. Nothing special. There was no "desert bar" or even anything for the kids. No chicken tenders, no French fries, no pizza, no grilled cheese .... nothing. I can only assume that the white Mac and cheese that had no seasoning in it was the kids food. Needless to say we paid $19.99 a person for terrible food, terrible service and left hungry. Did I mention that outside the restaurant it says "wait to be seated" and no on comes outside? So if you go just walk in and try and find someone to help you. Very unorganized restaurant with very little food choices, nothing for kids to eat and you will leave hungry. What would make this place better? Nothing. But I would like my money back being that for 6 of us we paid $19.99 per person and left hungry. read more

Three stars may be a bit generous- but I had to take into consideration the fact that a) this is theme park food, and b) it's all-you-can-eat theme park food. Aunt Granny's is an all-you-can-eat buffet, featuring mostly Southern items like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, cabbage, mac n' cheese, biscuits, cornbread etc., plus a few random items, like spaghetti, and tiny hot dogs. In terms of quality, Aunt Granny's was somewhat spotty. At best, think Golden Corral. At worst, think Golden Corral on a really bad day. GENERALLY speaking, most things I sampled were inoffensive, but not great. A few things were just plain bad- i.e. stale biscuits, dry, crunchy noodles. Lunch was $15.99, which included a beverage, but not gratuity. "In real life" this would be an incredibly overpriced disappointment, but I guess in theme park land it's a fair price for a buffet lunch. I would probably do a "quick service" stand over this next time, but if you want to sit down somewhere air conditioned and stuff your face, I suppose Aunt Granny's isn't a terrible option if your expectations aren't set too high. read more

I was very impressed with this buffet, considering it is inside an amusement park. It was a little pricey which is expected inside Dollywood, but my three year old ate free and drinks were included so the three of us ate for around $35. The food was good, everything was constantly being refilled and cleaned, and the service was excellent. There is a salad bar, a taco bar, and a hot bar with lots of veggies, soup, and traditional southern fare (fried chicken, steak and gravy, fried fish). This review is mainly for anyone who is gluten free or has other dietary restrictions. The food was a typical quality for buffet but is served at your table. You pick 2 or 3 meats (up charge for 3) and 4 sides. We waited 40 minutes for food after being seated and had difficulty getting drink refills. My husband is gluten free and the rest of the table wanted meats and sides with gluten (such as fried chicken and corn pudding). Our server would not bring my husband his own selections in an individual portion. She told him he could get his own meat but then charged the whole table for having an extra meat served to him which none of us touched. He only ate one piece because it was dry. Also, the only gluten free dessert was sugar free jello. I spoke with the manager after our meal and he thanked me for letting him know and did compensate our bill which we really appreciated. I just felt the need to warn other gluten free diners that this might not be for you. read more

Only thing is the waitress was so so and then we sat under the air conditioner and the ventilation system was dirty and had visible dust and the next day I had a sinus infection which I believe is from sitting under that! The group I was with was particularly excited to try this buffet when we saw the sign out front saying that the buffet had added an all-you-can-eat taco bar (limited time, I believe). The first ding for us was the price, and this really came into play when we actually got in and saw the food selection. The second, and biggest ding, was the food. Maybe I was expecting too much, but the food was off-the-chart disappointing. Keep in mind I'm not the biggest fan of carnival/fried/Southern food. Everything was clearly from a can or had been frozen before cooking. The taco bar was amazingly underwhelming. The meat was essentially Taco Bell-style ground beef with fillers, swimming in a vat of grease. The taco shells were either all broken or cooked so long that they were almost sealed closed, making it impossible to add ingredients. Then, to top it all off (no pun intended), they only provided cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and salsa for toppings. Taste of Mexico indeed. The main bar was not much better. Sure, it had lots of fried offerings, but the overall food selection was surprisingly limited. Combine this with the actual flavor of the food, and it was not at all worth what we paid to eat there ($15 per person). All in all the main buffet bar, the taco bar, and even the desserts were a huge disappointment. The service, however, was great. So... normally we would always check prices before we ate somewhere, but when you've been walking in the scorching heat for hours, an ice cold drink, air conditioning and a place to sit makes one quite careless. It was me, the hubs, and 3 kids all over the age of discount ...The food was good. It looked pretty fresh. The 13 year old thought the ranch was amazing. I thought the mashed potatoes were delicious, although the salad bar was pretty sparse. We are just sitting there relishing the air conditioning and decent food when it suddenly dawned on the hubs and I that we hadn't asked the buffet price.... I stuff one last morsel of potatoes in my mouth and confidently exclaim, " Well, it probably isn't going to be that bad!" "Surely no more than than $15 or so...", exclaimed the hubs. The food was tasty, often replenished, there was plenty of variety, and our server is did an excellent job. 4/11/17 was My first time to Aunt Granny's.! They had dry as powder cornbread muffins. The mac n cheese was old and dried up. The mash potatoes was ok and the brown gravy had noodles that fell in it from the other buffet compartment and the gravy was so low couldn't even get a ladle half full. The beef stew was empty. they had mini deep fried corn dogs which was ok and The cream of veggie soup was absolutely disgusting. The best thing there was the Drinks.! will be back to dollywood but not again to Aunt Granny's... My Server was very nice but I heard the lead manager and the lady at the register talking about the servers. This is our number one stop as DollyWood season pass-holders. Other buffets cannot compare. The best fried chicken in the world lives here and everyone fights over it. It was 3:30 in the afternoon and there is still a line out the front door. The wonderful aroma of freshly cooked food came rushing out and made everyone all the more hungrier. The line moved relatively quickly and soon our party of four was seated by a pleasant hostess dressed in a "grandma" type outfit. There is a large salad bar, a taco bar, a dessert bar with soft served ice cream, brownies, and crispy treats. The main hot buffet bar included numerous country favorites such as corn bread, biscuits, beans, mash potatoes, buttered noodles, gravy, cabbage, Salisbury steaks, fried fish sticks, fried chicken & other items which I can not recall at this time. Although I found the corn bread & the fish sticks to be a bit on the dry side, the Salisbury steaks with its mushroom and pepper gravy was absolutely delightful.
