This experience crossed a line…read more My girlfriend and I were genuinely excited to try Holy Burger because they advertise a full plant based menu and even offer gluten free buns. That combination is hard to find, so we were genuinely excited. Before ordering, I specifically asked if a gluten free bun could be used with a plant based sandwich. I was told yes. During ordering, I also clearly stated multiple times that we are vegan and everything needed to be plant based. Every vegan knows when you are in a place that serves both, you confirm multiple times. Despite that, I was served real meat. Both my chicken sandwich and my burger were not plant based. After taking a bite (I haven't eaten meat in 16 years), I noticed something was off and asked for clarification. I was initially told it was both gluten free and plant based. When I pointed out that my chicken patty and my girlfriend's chicken patty looked completely different, the answer changed. Only then did the employee realize the mistake and say it was gluten free, not plant based, as if those are interchangeable. They are not. If I had accepted the initial answer, I would have continued eating meat. Like halal, this is ethical. It is not a preference. If you are going to market to vegans and people with dietary restrictions, you need to understand the difference and get it right. What made it worse was the response. There was no real apology, just a casual "that's what you ordered," which wasn't true. I had clearly communicated my order multiple times. I declined the remake because at that point I didn't trust the food. I was told a refund was issued, but I have not seen that reflected yet. We spent about $60 for two people, which makes this so much more upsetting. This is not just a simple mistake. For vegans, this is ethical. Being served meat after clearly ordering plant based is not a minor error, it is a complete breakdown in trust. It left me physically sick, and honestly still does thinking about it. When you serve both meat and plant based options, there should be clear safeguards and employee training in place to make sure this never happens. That did not happen here. If you are vegan, I would strongly caution against eating here.

This spot has quickly become my go-to when I'm craving "fast food" style meals. So far, I've tried the gluten-free chicken tenders, cheeseburger on a gluten-free bun, seasoned fries, and even their gluten-free cookie. The chicken tenders are especially delicious; once home, I like to drizzle honey and dip them in barbecue sauce, which takes them to the next level. The seasoned fries are always perfectly crispy and flavorful. I'm not a fan of their gluten-free bun or gf cookie but I think I just have to get used to eating things without gluten in it now. The staff has consistently been friendly and helpful. While the seating area inside is small (making it more of a takeout spot), there are a few tables if you'd like to dine in. There's also a small bathroom available and a convenient ordering screen in the lobby for quick service. Overall, this is a solid place for gluten-free comfort food; whether you're in the mood for burgers, sandwiches, or chicken tenders. I've already been several times, and I'll definitely keep coming back!

Then I tried Dearborn Heights a couple of years later. Same thing!!! I just tried this location in Warren, and it's phenomenal too. I'm not sure why I didn't post reviews in the past. They are located next to a gas station which comes in handy if you also need gas. I order the number 1 and my son ordered the pizza burger. Both were very filling and delicious. The original burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was pretty good. The onions and pickles were so good and I don't usually like pickles. I didn't try the signature sauce as I'm not a fan of thousand island. But many people will enjoy it the way it's suppose to be made I'm sure. The pizza burger was pretty cool. It had 3 nice sized mozzarella sticks on them and pizza sauce. We wanted fries and they only come in one size. The one size is big enough to share. We were suggested the lemon pepper fries and that was such a great suggestion. They are fresh cut fries and you can tell. I was happy they had regular fries and not the battered crispy ones a lot of place do. So they definitely will get 5 stars for the fries alone. It has some seating inside, but most people seem to get carry out. The men at the counter were so nice in helping us. They really suggested things we would like and we did. I will be glad to give them my business again.

Bravo!…read more ORIGINAL REVIEW: I hate writing negative reviews, but it is the only way to get management's attention these days. After a long day working an event, I stopped into the local Big Boy hoping for something simple and reliable -- the salad bar and a decent sandwich. Unfortunately, neither of those expectations were met. First disappointment: the salad bar was closed. That was the main reason for stopping in. The bigger issue, however, was the atmosphere and service. The restaurant was practically empty, and it quickly became clear why. The waitstaff looked like they were more interested in getting out the door than taking care of the few customers who actually showed up. Service felt rushed, curt, and distracted while they focused on side work and closing tasks rather than hospitality. Then came the kicker: a server came to the table and casually informed us they didn't have cheese for the sandwiches. At that point, it's hard not to wonder how a restaurant runs out of something as basic as cheese. Between the closed salad bar, missing ingredients, and staff that clearly wanted the night to end more than they wanted to serve guests, the whole experience felt like customers were an inconvenience. When a restaurant looks empty from the parking lot, experiences like this explain exactly why. This kind of "we're already closed in spirit" attitude toward paying customers is unacceptable. If you're open, then operate like you're open -- otherwise lock the doors and call it a night. **UPDATE: Manager came and checked up on us. Ordered an hot fudge ice cream cake. They hooked it up. Service improved immediately after this initial post. **UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: They comped us the dessert... flipped the script. We left happy and full. Well played Big Boy.

We ordered the tortilla soup, the Big Boy, and a brownie sundae. Everything was decent--nothing bad, but very average overall. Our waitress was friendly and kind, but she went missing several times throughout the meal, which made service feel a bit inconsistent. While it was an okay experience for the price and fun for the memories, it's not somewhere we'd plan to frequent. Still, if you're craving nostalgia and a straightforward meal, it gets the job done.

As everyone and their mother has already pointed out their prices were too damn high! It's one thing to pay more to go to a sit down burger joint in Royal Oak where you get to soak in that classic 50s theme all around you with extensive decor but what's the point when it's a former Checker's in St. Clair Shores with only a drive thru and a couple of outside tables with zero ambiance. You can sit and look over at the Burger King where everything would have been cheaper. Or at least you could. The food isn't that special to justify the extra expense. Went here a couple times which was one too many and the grub didn't seem nearly as good as the OG Comet Burger in Royal Oak. Me typing out this review is the very definition of beating a dead horse and I got over a hundred other things to review but I just couldn't resist.

Today was the day we got to finally stop by. They have seating outside and a drive thru. It is pretty cold out so we went through the drive-thru. It didn't take a super long time to order our food. They had the same food as the other location. It is a cute little spot. My husband ordered space cowboy burger and it is his favorite. I got a comet slider and it was delicious. The fries were good but to be honest I am going to admit they taste even better at the other location. The service was amazing. The lady working told us that she loves the owner. Meat is brought in fresh every day. The fries are dropped fresh every time as well. We would love to come visit again soon.
