I have a feeling my first time at Auntie's House certainly won't be my last - quick and friendly service, generous portions, and incredible flavor combos. They. Do. Not. Skimp. On. Toppings. I opted for a build-your-own bowl, starting with jollof rice as my base and steak for my protein. Both were so good, I could have had them standalone. But when you mix in lettuce, cucumbers, jalapeños, and corn, plus Auntie's Spicy Mayo and Garlic White Sauce, this bowl was truly next level. When fresh meets saucy, it's a 10/10 for me. I tend to get a bit creative with build-your-own experiences, but everything came together so well with the peppers and seasoning. I can't wait to try their signature bowls - don't fret, there are plenty of great options to choose from if mine sounded a bit all over the place ;) We ordered plantains as well - sweet, fresh, and the perfect texture. I looooove this spot! It was our first time there and it's already one of my favs. Food: I ordered the jollof rice with stewed chicken and added some veggies to it. The sauce I used was the jerk sauce and I asked for the garlic sauce on the side. Talk about flavor town! My friend went to Auntie's House twice and recommended it to me. Auntie's House is where Afro-Caribbean flavors meets Halal goodness. There is a small parking lot next to the Auntie's House sign and street parking available. When I walked into Auntie's House, there was already a queue even though they had opened 10 minutes before. Meals are customizable to the customers. First stop is choosing your protein, rice, and if you want to add beans and grilled peppers. For protein, there is chicken, steak, pork, and shrimp. For rice, there was Jollof, Vegetable Fried Rice, Rice & Peas, Yellow, and White. The next stop is choosing your toppings and sauce. For toppings, there was salad mix (chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions), cabbage, corn, cucumbers, jalapeños, and scallions. For sauce, there was Auntie's Spicy Mayo, Garlic White Sauce, Avocado Sauce, Jerk Sauce, BBQ, Blue Cheese, Sweet Chilli, Hot Sauce, and Ketchup. I chose the Shrimp over Jollof Rice bowl with salad mix (chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions), corn, and jalapeños with Auntie's Spicy Mayo on the side. Staff were very friendly. There are about 4 tables inside if you want to eat in which I did. The whole bowl was packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the zesty shrimp and the jollof rice. Auntie's Spicy Mayo also has a nice kick. During the span of an hour that I was at Auntie's House, a good amount of customers came through ordered and left. I've had Auntie House a couple of times now since I can get it through DoorDash, and honestly the portions are huge for what you pay. Everything has been super fresh every time. I kept forgetting to take a picture the first two times, so luckily the third time I finally remembered. I'm completely hooked on the chicken over yellow fried rice. The chicken is juicy, packed with flavor, and just hits every time. I didn't even know you could do half and half, so next time I might try half yellow fried rice and half rice and peas. I've tried the steak and shrimp before and they were good too, but the chicken is my favorite. The toppings are very generous, and their sauces are great, I really like the avocado salsa. And if you want a little sweet with your savory, the sweet plantains are a perfect add on. My only wish is that they had sweet desserts or if they do, that they add them to the DoorDash menu. I came here on a weekend, after weeks of seeing ads for this place on social media. I wasn't sure if it is their parking lot, but I parked in the lot to the right hand side of the building. There is also street parking around. When I walked in, I was welcomed with warm smiles, a blend of good smells, and upbeat music. I think the staff could tell it was my first time so they walked me through the process of building a meal. I went with a bowl, half yellow rice and half jollof rice. For the protein, I choose their stew chicken but it was honestly a tough choice since everything looked excellent. On Sundays, they make oxtail which I was very close to getting. I got almost all their toppings and for the sauces, I got the garlic sauce and a chipotle one I think. The total was around $18 which may sound like a lot, but it was very heavy and enough for two people to leave satisfied. We ate inside, and while eating, noticed that a lot of people order from here so it's a pretty popular choice. The chicken was a tiny bit spicy but more than anything resembled an adobo/chipotle flavor. The rices were good, but very hard to find buried under everything else. The toppings were fresh and contributed different flavors in each bite. I love garlic but I did notice that the garlic sauce had a strong, raw taste. We've been following this business on Instagram and have been looking forward to trying their build your own rice bowls. The reviews have been great and when we arrived last night, there was a line out the door of people waiting to order. When it was our turn at the counter, we were greeted with a smile and thanked for coming out to try the food. They had run out of a few things, but while we were talking, hot and fresh food was brought out and refilled so we were good to go. We ordered 3 jollof rice bowls, one with shrimp, one with chicken, and one with pork. We had them topped with our favorite veggie options and asked for some sauces on the side so we could try them (garlic white sauce, spicy mayo, jerk, and BBQ) and they were all good. This is a Jamaican African bowl style restaurant located in Pawtucket. I saw it pop up on TikTok and I was intrigued since I live right around the corner! There's limited side private parking. There was already a line and some of the meats were running low, but I noticed staff were right on it, cooking up a new batch! The screen had a list of steps with options and house special bowls! I ordered a rice bowl of jollof rice with some freshly done chicken as my protein~ I added some greens and I was stuck on the sauces~ TikTok videos referenced all said this was the best part because it ties all the flavors together. I think it was the owner who was behind the counter (I recognized him based off the tiktok videos). He saw me stare at the screen debating what to added and he asked if I wanted to try the sauces~ the list was long and he gave a dab on the back of my hand, one by one! We didn't get through the whole sauce list because I was hooked on Aunties Sauce(spicy mayo), hot sauce (has a kick and I asked for a little around the bowl) and jerk sauce (tangy sweet). I honestly loved that I was offered the option to try, especially since the list is so long and I could've easily held up the line. It made my experience great and my food experience worth it. First impression was phenomenal because I enjoyed it flavors I liked. Every bowl comes with a drink. Portion was heavy and large, so this will make great leftovers. This spot had plenty of seating and most take these orders to go. We sat down and every table was clean and it looked like this place was making great business with locals. The line went fairly quick, there is an option to call in your order in Yelp. There is a choice of meat or shrimp and rice. I chose the salad option with steak and shrimp.
