As promised when I give a less than 3 star review, I promise to try again and update my review. I've now been a 2nd, 3rd or 4th time. I've gotten amazing service from the owner twice and she was happy to see me. I've got mediocre to bad the other. It's a mood thing, running your own business must be stressful but if you look at my reviews, almost all of my reviews are centered around the service. I just find it so important. Sometimes you can't control a bad waiter, but as an owner who is there all day working her butt off, it's in your hands. I thank you for the good service and regret reviewing negatively because of an off day. I've tried other menu items now and Im happy to say and report, I clearly just got the "end of the day batch" of jerk chicken during my first review. Tried 4 types of empanadas. Pork - Shredded pork with a light BBQ sauce and nice flavoring. Fave Chicken - Nice filling with bits of vegetables and raisins. Fave. Beef - A bit dry. Ground beef with mild seasonings. Ok Vegetarian- Smoky bacon flavored vegetarian filling with potatoes and other goodies All of them have a nice golden flaky dough and crust. read more

The place is particularly for take out. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside. The food was tasty, but not a lot of choices. To be fair, I came close to closing...For best selection, come early. The owner was very helpful in explaining the different dishes, so I knew what I was getting. This little tucked hide away is a Gem. It's Caribbean (Gainese) food. The first thing I noticed is how clean this place is. I ordered a medium plate that came with Turmeric rice, mixed vegetables and curry goat with a roti on the side. All I can say is I'm in a food coma now! Great flavors! This is a pretty small spot with an even smaller menu due to Covid but they do Caribbean food well. Last night, my bf and I decided to do a simple take-out from here for our anniversary and split the rice bowl with pulled pork and curry potatoes and the roti wrap with the same. The pulled pork was freshly made (the owner said she was originally planning to save it for tomorrow until they ran out of jerk chicken today) and the meat was flavorful. A medium bowl ($10) was a hefty amount of food and I ended up with leftovers that will keep well. The owner was really friendly and gave me a tour of their options. She apologized for the limited menu, and threw in a fried plantain for free with our meal. read more

I know I'm spoiled by my favorite Jamaican restaurant back home in GA, but I really had high hopes when I stepped into this cute little corner place. Everything LOOKED good. Unfortunately, out just didn't work for me. I had the jerk chicken, the Friday rice, and black beans for my veggie. The rice was pretty good actually. Nice flavor and texture. The black beans had good flavor, so that was nice. The main dish, the jerk chicken, was ... Just okay. It wasn't whole chicken pieces, it was tender-style cuts. It had good flavor, but not really what I've come to know (from trips to Jamaica, and various restaurants across the nation) as "jerk" chicken. If I hadn't been expecting something specific, it probably would have been fine. But I was, so it wasn't. I still took it to the beach and ate it as planned, but I won't be back to try anything else. read more

Just the smell alone when I walked in... memorable moment. The super clean and friendly ambience.. And the food?! Man oh man. Scrumptious, to say the least. I walked in looking for a samosa and walked out with a vegan empanada, full of potatoes and peas. Delightful surprise, the empanadas had no Grease in sight, just a sweet and spicy, unique flavor. My cat had the chicken, at home of course, she loved it as much as I did the vegan one. The historical knowledge I received about the country.. where this delicious, West Indian food and it's Caribbean twist originated from completely took me to another place. Just awesome all around. My food was made fresh, right in front of me! Simply crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor within, i took it to go. Small space, huge parking lot, I suggest picking up if your not alone. Amazing local spot. The owner and her husband are such warm, delightful people. Really good food for a pretty cheap price. Mostly take out. Got the masala chicken along with chickpeas and potatoes and roti for 10$, enough quantity for 2 meals. Food was on point except it needed a little salt. Roti's more like chole bathoora for those that know what I'm talking about. Lots of vegetarian options as well. read more

I just ordered the oxtail meal with black beans and rice. With a side of plantain. OMGoodness it's the best oxtail I've had in a long time and everything is full of flavor!!! I'm so pleasantly surprised right now because no one I know has ever heard of this restaurant.... I am literally sitting on my couch right now dancing because my food is soooo good! Wow. These were some of the most moist interesting ribs I've had. They were packed with flavor and in like some kind of gravy/ sauce. Ordered their largest container wish I could have gotten more included. Order came with red beans and rice but it was cooked in coconut milk. Welcome additional to the West side. I went in for lunch yesterday... Pros... The food was very flavorful! The customer service was great. They are new and I could tell they are trying to impress. I ate at the only stool at a very small counter and the gentlemen that rang me out gave me a free bottle of water. When I was done eating the cook brought a little dough boy with powdered sugar for me. Cons... The menu is confusing...they always have certain items that are on the menu then each day have specialty meats. However don't tell what or when. I asked questions as to what they would serve on a regular basis but couldn't really get a solid answer. I ordered the small portion of the sweet chicken for $7 which was 2 small chicken legs and some rice. I don't feel like I got my moneys worth. It was about 110 degrees in the restaurant. Pan A Day is a really wonderful hole-in-the-wall with lots of cheap, delicious food. They are on Grubhub which is nice but I prefer to go in because they don't have the same stuff every day. All I can say is yummy!!! Everything was delicious!! Jerk pork with rice,yucca ball,yucca ball with beef,Jamaican patty,vegetable empanada and chicken pot pie! The potatoes and peas and vegetable empanada was a hit! Flavors to die for. Only thing was the chicken pot pie was good but would of liked a little bit more seasoning. Yum!!! This for me is the perfect comfort food. 3 sizes, each come with a rice, a main, and a side. I got the medium with cook up rice, curried chicken, and potato and it was massive.
