Hands down best pastelitos! They have chicken, ham & cheese, and beef. The best part is that there only $1. They do have good Spanish food but I usually just come here to grab a couple of those pastelitos and a passion fruit juice and both are BOMB!

Had this restaurant on my bookmarks after reading some of the reviews. Drove by yesterday and figure I'll try it out. Small restaurant, seemed pretty clean and they had a good selection of fried, roasted and stewed dishes. Decent prices as well. 1 of the few places that offer desserts as well. I tried the medium portion with the yellow rice w/beans Along with the stewed pork ribs. Rice was nice and moist with the added gravy from the stewed ribs. There was a lot of bones without meat attached to the bones. There was a couple of actual pieces with meat but mostly bones. But the flavors was right on!

Some options were roasted/fried chicken , fried pork cutlets , stewed chicken/pork/beef, chiccahron, fried fish, empanadas

Many places to choose from on Chalkstone for Spanish food and this is definitely one of the top ones. Many different options , the have $5 $7 or $10 plates ($7 is is definitely enough for two people ) food is fresh due to the line out the door. Highly recommended for your in the area and want that quick lunch.

Riquisimo! The had a variety of dominican food. Rice, beans, cod stew, yellow fried platain, empanadas, fried pork, roasted pork, fried-roast-soup-chicken, pastelon, etc. My special one... this place has the most delicious mangú I ever had but you have to come early because they're gone in a blink. The service impecable, the employees are nice, the place is clean. They have a loyal clientele, dominicans, portoricans, portuguese, etc.... food that unite the people who likes to eat guud. They don't have their own parking which means you have to park at Chalkstone street or the street behind near Citizens bank. Do I recommended?... hell yeah!

I'm giving four stars for what I have tried here. The pastelitos are only a buck and are always warm and stuffed with filling. They have ham and cheese, shredded chicken, and ground beef. All are a great for a quick bite. I also have had the typical dominican breakfast offerings. Mangu, which is the best mangu I have had from a restaurant, fried cheese and salchichon. Loved it all. The only thing I didn't care for were the prepared eggs, which were a bit rubbery. They have lots more to try so I'm looking foward to stop in for lunch sometime.

I was in the middle of eating and then I was like let me stop and share with yelp

I would've liked 1 more scoop of oxtail for the $30 but I do know it's very expensive right now, so I'm ok with it. It's was tender and delicious. The gravy was deep and full of flavor. I loved it. The plantains are not the sweet ones and were done perfectly, tender throughout. Good amount of beans! The rice was copious, a weeeee salty but honestly I don't even know if it's worth mentioning. And the whole process seems a slow since all the food is already prepared. It would seem pretty simple to point scour into the containers and bag it up and out the door. But was a slow process. The food would get a 4 stars for that nice flavors and freshness. But the mundongo I pointed and ordered never made it to my bag. When I got it home, it was a large container of the stewed beans that is usually used to top the white rice. So I couldn't add my review on what I did not get.

We were hungry then found this place while we were looking for a place to eat. Totally unplanned, just wanted to get a bite to eat. This restaurant is located on Broad St (busy street) next to McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, and other places to eat. I'm so glad we walked into this establishment. My boyfriend and his younger brothers are Puerto Rican. They asked me if I've ever tried Mofongo. I've always wanted to try it, so I ordered the Mofongo with chicharron. Best decision ever. What it is, is mushed up plaintains mixed with Pernil (Puerto Rican slow roasted pork). Then topped off with chicharrones. It also came with a red sauce (not spicy) and a white sauce. It was so good: The ladies working there at the time were very friendly too. There is a bathroom inside for customers only and a lot of tables to sit. You just sit yourself. Can't wait to come back to Providence just for this restaurant. I'm hooked!
