I'm a newly Denton local and I've had this post on my go to list for ages but today o got the chance to check it out. It is super cute- I think anyone who walked in would immediately feel comfortable. The shop makes a point to emphasize the fact that all are welcome here. They make their own syrups in house which is super rare and I was very pleased with my Sister Rosetta Drink- which is lavender and oat milk. It's the perfect balance of floral and sweet. The baristas are more than happy to customize the drink to make it sweeter. I wasn't a fan of my friend's almond milk drink but she liked it. The one thing I'll say is that there is not a whole bunch of seating available as it's a smaller place- so if you don't mind community/tighter seating then it's totally fine. If you want to come to study you'll have to come when it's less busy. The WiFi is great and was working when I was here. The baristas are super attentive and helpful which I super appreciate! The vibes are most certainly and unapologetically Denton- but if you're not familiar with the area- imagine a mix of Austin and San Antonio. Don't recall hearing a greeting when I came in; nor was I asked if this was my first time here. I like the many plants and that some are for sale. It was crowded so I decided to take my food and coffee to go. Small tables are available to eat outside. Disappointed with quality of Sister Rosetta; as I did not taste the coffee. I prefer a balanced latte. I was greatly disappointed that the tortilla was a little burnt on the edge and did not taste fresh. I do not know how you mess up scrambled egg. Furthermore, I did not taste the sausage in the bite I took. I understand this is close to campus and makes sense for the students. For those that can go elsewhere for more seating and better quality of coffee and food I highly recommend it. read more

The coffee is pretty decent, but I never crave it enough to swing by more than a couple of times a month. I like the fact they have local flyers for events, and them selling Denton local merchandise. However, the staff is not the friendliest. I feel they are prone to give you the cold shoulder for no reason. My coffee was sitting on the counter and they never called it out. I am never the type to leave bad reviews as I have been working in the service industry for quite some time and currently work as a barista. I understand we have bad days, but there is never a reason to humiliate a guest who is paying YOUR company simply because they didn't hear the drink called out the first time....this establishment has a great ambiance and it is super convenient for students, but after being basically scolded for not hearing my coffee order over the hustle and bustle of the coffee shop, then stared at by every guest within the facility with subtle laugher, I don't plan on returning. I know y'all probably don't need my business, but it's one thing to have good coffee with mediocre service, it's another to embarrass someone is paying for coffee, tipping the baristas, and supporting a small business. read more

Wondered in one weekend. Showed up because online it is advertised they have organic coffee. Barista said it's not labeled as organic (honesty is respected). Explained that it is high quality allowed me a taste test and that kept me there and I bought a cup. I'm a Dark coffee fan (which they do t have (again loved the honesty of telling straight up they don't brew dark roast). But the reason is because the medium roast has so much flavor and the importance is on the notes and tones of flavor in each cup (respected) I will continue to visit here Atmosphere is student coffee shop but it is literally almost right on campus. They are selling vintage clothing there as well. Not a great aesthetic but makes sense for college students. Baristas service was exemplary. Not giving 5 stars because they advertise organic and don't really have it and atmosphere is a bit rugged but college student appropriate. read more

Located across from campus, I decided to give this place a try. Decor inside matches college students life style...conservatively poor. The price is not so. I ordered an espresso shake. It has icecream blended with two espresso shot. Flavor of your choice. Being freakishly hot today, I ordered this cold drink concoction. Needless to say, I'm disappointed. It tastes like espresso and sweet cream. No ice blended with it so it's super soupy. My damage: $5.75 for 16 ounces. Me and my friend went here and ordered two completely different coffees. For some reason, the coffees tasted exactly the same and there was no flavor of the syrup or flavoring added to differentiate the coffees. My friend got a Kool Keith which has coconut and vanilla syrup while I ordered a Sister Rosetta which has special house made lavender syrup. Tell me why they taste exactly the same Literally wasted $6 on this and the coffee isn't even that good. Quik Trip $2 coffee tastes better than this, I'm very disappointed. I'll give them some credit because the coffee isn't 95% ice like Starbucks but I'm still very disappointed with what I got. The place is kind of dirty with dust and dead flies, they should definitely clean the window sills or not place chairs next to the windows. The entire experience here was very distasteful from there. The person behind the counter continued to give me an ugly look and scoffed at me when I came to the counter to order. My fondness for this cozy, creative coffee shop grew and grew as they continued to cater to my insomniac lifestyle. My last semester was pretty tough, and I spent many over-nighters here drinking their delicious coffee and hot chocolates and eating their whole grain bagels. They're open 24/7, and I've never seen them closed aside from maybe.. Christmas. They're usually packed, but you can find a nice relaxing time in the wee hours of 4-7am. Because they have big tables, people are pretty chill about letting you sit with them and get your study on. Free internets, chyes. I've seen people camp here for hours and hours with their own packed lunches and even drinks, and the owner won't say anything because he's too nice. But come on, be a sport and support your local business. He's nice enough to be providing what that part of Denton really needs - a 24 hour coffee house to study and caffeinate yourself. Bring your headphones. The shop plays pretty good, eclectic music but one of the baristas wears gypsy armor and she cling-clings when she sweep-sweeps and then I start double typing typing my essays. Coffee is watery and do not get the pandan coffee they don't even use real pandan. I only got it because in my culture pandan is used in many delicious deserts but this coffee is a disgrace. I stopped by and got a cup of coffee which wasn't bad. Probably about the same price as a Starbucks coffee. What caught my attention as she spun the touchscreen around to ask for a tip was the "Fight for Socialism" sign which confused me as they were asking for a tip. I did tip and went on my merry way. I was surprised they didn't have a higher rating, and I was REALLY surprised when I saw people saying they didn't like the food. The food is amazing! The owner has different quiches out every week, they sell spicy pig in blankets, and she's always trying out some new recipe. She's a great cook. Can't remember what she called it, but I once got a macaroni and cheese waffle with brisket and gravy on top. Delicious! The coffee is great, too, but if you're planning on drinking a few cups make sure to bring your own mug (charged at refill prices if you do). They also have a selection of specialty drinks. I can say the iced drinks are pretty great; I'd recommend a Kool Keith if you don't know what one to try. The atmosphere is pretty laid back, but there will be a lot of people in and out if school is in session. It's can also be nearly impossible to find a seat at peak hours, but people are always getting up and leaving so I usually just wait for a few minutes. Finally, the employees are excellent and courteous. I've never had anyone be rude to me, and I frequently ask what music is playing, or advice on what food/drink to get, etc. read more

Local art, super close to campus, plenty of outlets. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The vibe isn't designed for everyone. If you are walking across the street from UNT is likely just your scene. Coffee is at times great and at times ok. I do recognize that it doesn't exactly market itself to a wider crowd outside of the college scene and that's fine unless you find yourself outside the demographic l, wandering in and end up feeling (if slightly) that you are inconveniencing the baristas.
