I love this place. It's very easy to get to. It's close to the mall and downtown Syracuse. We stopped here after dinner to try some of their beers. I tried all of their IPAs, and they were all very flavorful. We sat at the bar; the place filled up very quickly after dinner time and most of the tables had people at them. They have a lot of events here ie trivia, comedy nights, and EDM nights. The EDM music started at 6pm and went until 2am. It was $10 to get into the separate back space where the DJ was. If you want to dance amongst the vats of beer, I recommend stopping by for this. They have a food menu where there are more options available now; it includes wraps, salad, wings and some other stuff. We also tried the chocolate chip cookies that were freshly made and were very chocolate-y. The ambiance here was very relaxed too. Everyone we met here was friendly and happy to be here. I'd definitely stop back again. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the area and looking for a brewery. read more

We stopped by for a few beers on a Saturday night and were told that there was a comedian going on in an hour. So, we stayed to hear the opening act. She was pretty good, but a lot of sex and drug jokes, which for me are the easiest to come up with and thus, the least surprising. We didn't want to leave during her performance, so we stayed for the whole 30 minutes. Anyway, the beers are quite varied and interesting. However, they are all made with wild yeast, but gives them all a sour tang. The one most interesting beer is a nearly 18% ABV stout, which is very good and you certainly don't need more than 5oz. read more

Great selection of various types of beers, including bottles of Europe's better brews. The pretzel is worth a try as is the pimento dip and chips. Italian beef sandwich is huge with an odd topping of pickled vegetables. Meat ball sandwich is also good. Chips come with the sandwiches and are adequate. It's basically a bar that you order at and they bring you the meal. They have high chairs for your baby if you ask. We visited the NY State winter fair and saw this brewery on our way there. I decided to stop on our way home and grab some beers to take home. They do know how to brew great beers. The Confetti Cowboy is a dark and somewhat bitter Belgian style dubbel ale, with 9.1% alc/vol. "Everybody's doing it" is a quadripel, a great beer if you like a beer with a high ABV (14.1%!!). It is brewed in collaboration with the Upstate Brewing company. "Stash Hero" is a double IPA with an ABV of 8.5%. A very good IPA in my opinion and very drinkable. read more

What a cool, dog friendly place with a great selection of beer, and in particular, sours. The GM was behind the bar and very friendly and accomodating. Best part though, was his 4-legged co-worker, Optimus. Optimus is the "Employee of Forever" according to his framed photo on the bar and let our 3 dogs sniff him and follow him around the bar. There is an outdoor patio, but since they do not serve food, dogs are allowed inside. I tried the kiwi arctic sour which was quite tart but refreshing on a hot day. A fun stop brewery for a game or a snack! They also offer craft fairs and various vendors at events. I believe they hosted an Irish dancing class earlier in the afternoon. I love the artistry on the walls and especially enjoyed holiday decor in previous visits. I had a hazy grape fruit brew, my friend Octoberfest coffee, and a lemonade for her teen. First time here. I was impressed. I loved everything about this place. The owner and his wife are so chill. The pumpkin beer is insannnnnne. You can taste the different spices in it. The food was impressive too. I got the meatball flatbread and the honey hot wings. So good. They were setting up for a Halloween party when i came in. Not many people there. I love how this place is on the Empire State biking trail and only a 5 min ride from my apartment. Def check this place out if you're in the area. Had a great visit to Buried Acorn where I was impressed by their selection, presentation of product and most importantly, their safety measures! On a walk to hit the public market, Destiny for a warm-up and to see the many eagles in the cleaned up Onondaga Lake, The Buried Acorn provided a cozy place to try some samples of their large selection of craft brews. In these days of skeleton shifts for breweries, I had access to the brewmaster who was able to provide a lot of background info on the brewing process and marketing etc. Safety is at a premium here. After ordering at the stand-up bar, you move with your beverage to one of the socially distanced tables to enjoy your find. Great job Buried Acorn! read more

Nice little brewery just off the highway. Many beers to choose from, including several available in 4-packs to go, including cider and flavored vodka drinks. Clean interior with plenty of seating, clean restrooms, and lots of cool art. Outdoor seating when it's warm enough. Unfortunately, dogs are no longer allowed inside since they now have a kitchen (which we didn't have time to try). Samples were poured of the beers I was interested in taking to-go which is always nice. Bartender was friendly and beers were good. After hearing that they had a big board game shelf and and even bigger beer menu, I knew I had to check this place out. Over the weekend, I rallied some friends and told them to meet me here. When I arrived, the parking lot was full. There was an event going on, and turning into the entrance (in a high-traffic area) and finding a place to park was surprisingly difficult. I imagine this isn't much of an issue most of the time, but it might be something worth fixing in the future. This place is pretty great, so I imagine it's going to get more popular. The inside is pretty hip, and there's a charming outdoor patio I imagine is lovely in the warm menu. The menu has a ton of great options with some equally great names- how could I not try a beer called "chainsaws and kittens?" There are a ton of sours, which I love because I'm a big fan. They offer 5 oz servings in addition to 12 & 16 oz, which is great news for all the indecisive lightweights like me! Also, their cans have custom artwork, which I thought was a nice touch. Tried the food at the buried acorn for the first time since they opened their kitchen. We got the jumbo pretzel served with mustard and cheese. It was delicious and definitely enough for two. My fiancé got the Italian Pilsner and I got the bourbon sidecar. Both were very good. I like that they have cocktails now for people who aren't huge beer drinkers. I stopped by for an hour when driving through Syracuse. This is a great place for a quick stop or a longer hangout! The tables and decor are very cozy. There are lights, plants in the table (what a unique concept!), and canopy-like cloths. The Buried Acorn is known for farmhouse ales and sour beers. I tried the Pinaceae and Ain't Nobody Got Time for Dat. The Pinaceae was great, and the Ain't Nobody Got Time for Dat was super fresh--I swear I could taste different herbs! Overall I had a great experience with my one and only Syracuse brewery. I'm glad that social distancing measures were being taken seriously as well. read more

I stopped in this brewery twice around mid afternoon. The owners were present and I had an enjoyable visit. I sample a number of different dark brews and found all to be delicious, well deserving five stars. The owners, bartenders and other customers were friendly. Also had the wings (hot) which were tasty. Stopped by on a Friday at 4:30PM. A few more customers were present, good for business. I sat at the bat, started to review the beer selection. I feel bad leaving such a poor review, because the people here are lovely. But other reviewers are right--it smells exactly like a sewage plant. It's really disgusting and I couldn't breathe through my nose. The food is also pretty horrendous. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. First time stopping at Buried Acorn and was happy with their beers and service. I happened to be in Syracuse not far from Buried Acorn and decided to try it since we had never been in person. Being the craft brewery fans my wife and I are - we popped in. We were initially disappointed when the doors were locked even though it was during normal business hours. It turns out they were under an Orange zone for COVID-19 and were merely following the guidelines. Since we were already there - we called and explained our situation - they said just place your order and we will bring it out to you. So that's what we did. We ordered 2 - 4 packs and brought them home to enjoy later that day. I could tell they were more than slightly frustrated by the business restrictions, but they were friendly and explained everything well, which was helpful. Once we placed our order online - we called them and within seconds, literally - they brought us our order and we were in our way. The server that brought it out was very nice and we could only assume she was smiling behind her mask. I thought they handled the restrictions well and are definitely doing the best that circumstances allow for. I gave them 4 stars because I'm kind of a beer snob and while their IPA was very good, the stout we got was average at best. Once life gets back to something resembling normal - we will definitely go back and enjoy some time in the outdoor beer garden. read more

I think I officially found my favorite brewery in Syracuse! My work friends and I are regulars for trivia on Wednesday, and we love the selection of beers they carry. I am not the biggest fan of beer, but they do have some ciders and fruity beers. In addition, they carry wine which is not something that I see a lot at breweries so that is a huge plus! The bartenders are super friendly and offer free tastings if asked before ordering a beer. I also love that they have food trucks and that you can bring outside food/snacks. They also have an outside patio and a small fenced area where people bring their dogs. In addition, they are super dog friendly inside as well. If you haven't made your way over to this brewery, I highly recommend making plans to visit! read more

I'm sorry that I asked for a flight. I didn't realize they didnt do them. That is no excuse to be belittled by someone (not the bartender) behind the bar. I didnt know. Yeah most places will offer free samples of stuff - but I dont want to keep bugging the bartender to try 4 samples of something when I had happily pay $12-$15 for a flight and be able to go sit away from some drunk guy behind the bar (a brewer?) who was border line aggressive with me. If this review was just for the beer it would be better. Anyways, I wasn't a hige fan of the hoppy stuff. One of them tasted a bit oxidized and the other tasted a little too "belgiany" (I hope I dont offend the brewer here with my analysis, I know they isolated a yeast themselves and I'm sorry I'm not an expert). I really liked the berliner and the other mixed fermented beer i tried was ok. Anyways it would have been a good review or a no review but the fact that some guy behind the bar was so rude when I asked for a flight is what gets this place a one star. A simple "oh we dont do that but you can sample something" would have been fine but instead I got a 5 min lecture on why flights are bad and their beer is so great. read more

This was a pretty cool place to grab a drink with some friends! If I remember correctly they had 16 beers on tap! The selection ranged from some good stouts to IPA's (my personal favorites!). The only thing I didn't like but liked at the same time if that makes sense, is that you can bring in your own food or order out, because they don't serve food there!
