Salsa Perrona! Made with chile de árbol & oil. Delicious with my mom's birria. Smokey & VERY spicy - DELICIOUS!! The owner Jackie was there and she was extremely friendly and helpful. These are the mom and pop shops we need to support! Stop by and you won't be disappointed!

Wow...I am so glad my bf found this gem of a place by accident. If you're looking to buy chorizo to bring home, this is the place. Not only the chorizo taste amazing, but the owner is such an awesome person who you can have a great conversation with. Before purchasing anything, you're able to try the different chorizo he has to offer and the cheese as well. Also, can't forget their own salsa to sample. We end up getting the medium spice chorizo because my bf can't handle spicy like I can and also got the Verde chorizo. Literally the sample had us coming back from the pumpkin patch in Irvine to make sure we buy some to bring home. Not only because we bought it for the taste, it is because the owner is so kind. I hope your business does well! And thank you for letting us know about your wife making chorizo spaghetti. Now I really want to make it and try it.

This place or the Santa Ana Location is my place to go for the weekend to make a delicious Chorizo breakfast or better yet some Chorizo Tacos. We love this Chorizo so much we refuse to have another brand or from other places. I always get happy to stop by and just talk to Jackie, she's the sweetest person and has very good customer service.

Start cleaning out underneath your table pushing you out as fast as they can. The bar just closes down not even announcing a last call. And what is with those awful margaritas. I can't believe that a Michelin feathered Mexican restaurant can serve such awful margaritas. And I am not alone as I mentioned it to another Restaurant crowd and they agreed and said they were probably the worst margaritas in Orange. I don't know whether it's the mix or the amount of alcohol or what it is but they come out watery and really sour. A totally good dining experience has to encompass everything, food is only 50% of the deal the other 50% is service with a smile, and this one lacks it. Now there could be a reason for this epic shutdown at 9 PM. But I wonder what it is? Santa Monica seafood in Santa Monica on Wilshire Boulevard has to have last orders in by 8:30 because if they are not closed out by 10 o'clock entirely, the neighbors complain that they are putting out trash and making a noise after 10 so that I understand. But it took me a year to find that out from the owners. Restaurant owners are so stuck up and anal, I know I was one. Gabbi, whom I have never seen, should spend a night or two watching her Restaurant closing up.

I just call it food cause that's what I eat for breakfast lunch and dinner so when I'm telling you that this place has some really good food trust me you want to come out and try it. The beans did not taste watered down, and the enchiladas themselves were flavorful. I always worry about shrimp overpowering the sides of a dish but it tasted great. The rice was also really filling. We had a reservation and they seated us at a pretty big table, which I liked. The servers were very timely, kind, and knowledgeable about each dish on the menu and the rotating specials. The inside of the restaurant was HUGE. I'm pretty sure it was built inside of a church. I really liked the stained glass and elevated seating areas nearby, it reminded me of the Old Spaghetti Factory layout in Fullerton. Overall, I had a very positive experience. I had to get a Diet Coke and of course, it was crisp to my expectations. A little heads-up, unlike the Costa Mesa location, they do not have horchata. Nevertheless, I'd come here again to try their burritos, tostadas, and salads!

But once again one has this perfunctory service, that is service that is merely to get through a night and not to enhance a dining experience. So many restaurants now seem to have the same problem, that is servers who just want to get through the evening and get it over with. The service industry has really taken a dive since my day. I don't get it. Don't they get paid more than they used to just a year or two ago. Anyway, I do enjoy the Camerones. But, the dreadful flan that I was served. This is such a basic desert and very easy to make, but one can overcook the egg proteins easily and the whole thing is grainy, scrambled and not pleasant to eat. Basically it should be cooked in a Bain Marie. Probably a lost art. Avila's has several locations and one may differ from another. The one I ate at is in Orange.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Highly recommend if you're near 728 N Tustin St in Orange! Pair it with an horchata, yum

Now they sometimes answer a question, look at you like you are wasting their time, give you the wrong information or input the wrong request. Their method of delivery of food lacks organization. A simple item can take over half an hour to deliver but someone else that arrived after (who ordered a bigger and more complex item) will get their food beforehand. Several times people have to ask to correct their order once prepared and given. Things go missing or are not the right order. The food quality does not seem to be consistent. Sometimes it feels cold and not as fresh like in years past. The ingredients used feel like they come from a can. Less ingredients and smaller item size has been noticeable for tortas and tacos. Some people will get more of an ingredient than others. The size of other items ordered varies. You can order same as your companion and get something that looks and tastes different. The hand made tortillas you could buy still taste somewhat similar. The bakery side still seems to hold up to tradition and taste. The cleanliness of the place has also changed. It is a bit less kept. The sitting area can get filled up quickly by a single person or groups during peak times.
