This business is super reliable. Over the past 4 years we've had minor issues and Austex has come thru with low cost solutions. Last weekend was a huge test... Came home after several weeks away and had company over for a week of vacation. That was when the AC went out and the internal temps reached 82. Called Dave on Sunday. Knew how backed up he was but he was there first thing Tuesday (fortunately we had plans for a hotel already planned for Sun and Mon). He found the problem and fixed it for less than $300. This was a great company to deal with for my new A/C! I had an original 20 year old Carrier system that was on it's last legs so we decided to install before the hot heat comes in a month. Dave came out and gave me a solid estimate and in the end I paid exactly what was on the estimate. Pedro and his crew did the install in 1 full day. I have a rental property and the furnace was not heating as it should. Dave came out and found the problem. I called AusTex again for an issue with my heater. I already knew I had a bad board, but found out that my thermostat was bad too (22 years old junk). Service was fantastic and I wanted a smart thermostat, so he showed me how to install it before I went to pick it up. He did a great job, gave good tips, explained everything clearly, and got us going. Heater is already working again, thermostat is about to go in as soon as I go pick up my order from lowes. He recommended a thermostat that fit my needs better than the one I had been looking at (and is cheaper). After reading reviews, he was correct. Also, with 45 minutes of me calling, he was already picking up the parts for my unit as I got the model # and serial # off the heater before calling so that he'd already have everything he needed when he got here - which he did. read more

Dave, the owner of Austex is the most trustworthy tradesman I've ever worked with. I trust him implicitly. He has worked on multiple ACs for me. He has serviced them. He recently installed a central HVAC unit for me. Then he installed a mini split in my backyard office. Then he installed and recommended Reme Halos for my terrible allergies. Dave is a true Texan. So honest. His prices are fair. He always does what he says he will do. And, he's an extremely nice guy. I can not recommend this company enough. His employee, Jesus, is a perfectionist like Dave. You can trust anyone in his company to do work for you because at the end of the day, the owner, Dave, has your back and will help if anything isn't as expected. Our upstairs unit quit cooling in June, we call another company who said we had a critical leak and charged up $300 for freon and said we needed a new unit. We were saving up when this week it stopped cooling again. I called AusTex and they came out the same day. They cleaned /drained parts of the unit and got it working again. They told me I did not need to replace it at this time, total cost $ 147.00. Not only were they professional but honest. They explained what they did in detail. Saw the good reviews, so called these guys to come do an A/C tune-up which lead to an additional appointment to replace a part. The technician was friendly and helpful, but was over an hour late to both appointments. All I can say is Wow! We used them previously for our business and had no problems. Called for our home a/c to be serviced. We agreed we could be flexible and just get a 30 minute heads up, with no scheduled time slot, this was on Tue our appt scheduled for Fri. On Friday at 4pm we hadn't received a call, so I called and left a voicemail no return call, no one showed up, nice customer service! They called me in error thinking it was someone else Monday a.m. and I agreed to give them a 2nd chance Wed a.m. So I took the morning off work, they called 30 minutes in advance of my appt time to tell me they couldn't come! What a joke! You would think you could make someone you already totally flaked on a priority when they have taken time off work twice. I can't even imagine running a business like this! read more

Our heater was down so I called first thing in the morning and was quickly greeted by someone and set up a time for them to come out. While they were a little later than first expected, they did call and were AMAZING while he was here. He let me know what had happened and what he did.
