My husband and I decided to stop by Austin Daily Press while out on our E-bike ride. It's a little spot with an ordering/pickup window, and a small area with outside seating. We drove up, parked, and went to the ordering/pickup window. I looked at the menu and decided what I wanted. The man at the window took our order quickly, we paid and then found a place to sit. My husband and I decided to share the ADP Loaded Nachos. They come with Tinga Chicken, Queso, Refried Black Beans, Avacado, Beet Pico, Goat Cheese Yogurt, and Red Cabbage Salad. My husband ordered the special which was the Porkin Around Torta. It came with Pork, Aioli, Fennel, Brussel Sprouts and Jalapeno Apple Jam. I ordered the Deville Torta which comes with Chicken, Plantain, Pineapple, Queso, Chimichurri, and a red Cabbage Salad. The Nachos were really good. The Queso was spread out around the Nachos and it wasn't overwhelming. The Tinga Chicken was so good and also spread out around the nachos. They Put a small scoop of the Refried Black Beans in one corner and a small scoop of Avacado in the other corner. Both were fresh and added flavor. The Red Cabbage Salad on the top mixed with the yogurt and beet pico was delicious. The combination of ingredients was very tasty. I tried my husband's Porkin Around Torta and it was yummy. The Deville Torta was delicious. It was filled with flavorful Chicken. The pineapple, plantain, and red cabbage salad gave the torta a semisweet flavor. It was a delicious torta. Been wanting to try this place and not disappointed. I had the Canadian Tuxedo. Flavors robust. Generous quantity in this day of decreasing size. Bun excellent. Things you should know: 1. Wow, the taste and healthy alternatives they offer are worth coming back for! I ordered the chips and queso (came with a side of beet pico de gallo and goat cheese) as an app. I could've done without the goat cheese if I'm already eating the queso, but the beets were good! Not sure how they qualify as pico de gallo style, but I threw them in the queso and completely elevated it nonetheless. For my entrees I ordered a tempeh-cauliflower "chorizo" bowl and a Lucy taco to share with my partner. More than enough food, we took leftovers home. The "chorizo" was so yummy, I love how they were able to make cauliflower taste that good! I also tried their lemonade and seasonal aqua Fresca (hibiscus and ginger march 2025) and they were delicious as well. Everything I've eaten from here has been really delicious. I just recently had the cauliflower plant-based chorizo bowl and it was really good. Solid flavors, meat was a little dry but all in all a good sandwich. I would come back and order it again. The cauliflower chorizo torta was very mid. The whole thing was very one note, not enough flavor at all, and very mushy. I would not order it again and would not recommend getting it. The jalapeño hush puppies were amazing and my favorite thing that we ordered. Seasoned really well with a bit of spice, these are a 10/10. The arnold palmer wasn't bad, just very tart. So if that's your thing then go for it. The ambiance was alright, only seating outside and you order online. So it's more of a pickup and go kind of place. Service was fine, the guy was normal. If you're looking for breakfast/lunch/brunch and are in the Eastside area, come through to this food truck. Service is friendly. We were immediately greeted with smiles at their order window, and found the picnic table seating so communal. They have wifi too, but it didn't seem to work for us that day. You bus your own plates/baskets after eating, which is great because diners have to take responsibility for their trash! The menu is pretty extensive for a food truck, so there is something here for everybody. The tacos were calling my name (they serve breakfast ones too like MIGAS), but they also have tortas, fried goods, and sandwiches to name a few. They also serve drinks like cold brew. There are so many appetizing items on the menu that I'll definitely come back again. Also, ask for their salsas because it's delicious. It tastes like Yellowbird salsa. The migas taco was the true winner in my eyes. I also enjoyed the cauliflower chorizo, which is vegetarian for all y'all curious. It's their version of chorizo made with cauliflower in delicious sauce that reminds me of mole. The tortillas are what I kept on raving on and on about. They put it on the grill to give it that delicious warm texture. The food did take a while to come out (like 10-15 mins), but we were a larger group like around 8 total. The parking is also quite limited, as they share the small plot with other restaurants and businesses (like Juiceland). But it has a family and low-key vibe--plus it always helps to support food trucks who don't have a brick and mortar space. I love this little sandwich joint! They only have patio seating, so make sure to come by when the weather's nice. You order at the window and take a buzzer. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quickly. The 'Edward' torta ($9), despite being vegetarian, had SO MUCH FLAVOR. The telera bread was fluffy but held together well. The edamame fritter was interesting (like healthier falafel). The peanut sauce was addicting. I've also had the cauliflower chorizo & pickled onion panini ($6). It was like an upgraded grilled cheese. Loved the spiced cauliflower and crispy bread. Highly recommend both sandies--delicious and large portions! The Austin Daily Press is not a newspaper. No sir, it's not even a cold press juice bar. It's a great casual kitchen in East Austin that serves tortas, paninis, tacos and bowls. Since we are a vegetarian family, we had to try out their "caul me" and "edward" tortas, and both were quite good. Between the two, the edward with its edamame fritter and avocado won the day; the cauliflower chorizo was also good though. From their snacks and sides menu, we also ordered the fried brussels, which also lived up to its promise. Ordering is all online; even if you show up there in person, you have to order on your phone. That makes it all a tad... um, impersonal. We stepped out for a brief walk after ordering, and when we got back, our food was ready and waiting in a bag. So we never saw the folks who run the place. The outdoor seating was good. They have parking but it's a small lot. They don't serve coffee, but that was easily solved with a visit to a coffee bar across the street. Our first meal in Austin :) we saw this food shack on the drive in and walked there from our air bnb. The place is so cute with tables situated outside. The menu had all sort of good food it was hard to decide! I was in between many tortas so I was happy to find out I could get a flight of tortas. I'd prefer if it was smoother and less thick but if you don't care about textures you would like the flavor! Hush puppies were good as well if that's your thing. The Lucille torts was pretty good as well but the flavors aren't as well combined as they are in the bowl. Highly recommend a bowl. I'll be back next time I'm in town.
