The potato strings on El 4/20 had a nice texture crunch and contrast. The Senor Crockett was probably my favorite out of the beef tacos, the grilled onions, peppers and cheese went really well. All the salsas were solid, I thought they would be super hot based off their chart. I didn't think they were too spicy at all. My kids liked the ham and cheese breakfast taco a lot. It's probably because they're fairly large, which I actually thought was too large. I would've preferred smaller tacos both for the sake of trying multiple items and for feasibility of eating them. We went on Austin's 2025 snow day, they were open and had salted their lot and the ramp into the store. Perfect spot for a quick bite. They have a fairly large patio if you'd like to sit outside or take it to go. They get pretty busy on the weekends. This day we sat outside to enjoy our meal. My go to is usually the Street Taco. It was was good, but I feel like the taco's used to be larger. Queso is on point. Decided to try and Enchilada Fries and they were pretty tasty! We stayed at an overpriced hotel to see the eclipse and I couldn't wait to stretch our legs and have authentic tacos. They were so heavenly, we ate there at least once a day. As I looked at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised that the prices weren't overpriced because I initially expected higher prices with the restaurant located right by the Congress bridge. Besides a plethora of taco options, we decided to order both the Cheesesteak & Queso Sandwich (their version of the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich) and the Loaded Nachos. Both options were delicious and heavy, just like the way we expected them to be! They provided generous portions for each dish, including the tacos, so be prepared to fall into a food coma if you decide to eat here haha. Such a great hole in the wall taco joint in Austin. Stopped by with a couple of friends and I got 2 fish fried tacos and chips and guac. Taco Joint is quite generous with their fish as each of mine had 3 big pieces. My tummy was happy and full. Food came out quickly and they even call your order number over the intercom that you can hear outside. My only complaint is that it was hot inside, 87 degrees is what the thermostat said. I've never used the word "amazing" to describe a Taco! That's the word that came to mind when I bit into these tacos. I had a chicken fajita and a street taco. The street taco has steak and avocado. I wonder if it's possible to get a less than amazing taco in Texas? If so, I haven't found one. Taco Joint was a place we stumbled upon while walking around Austin for a few hours on a Friday afternoon. The cashier was cheerful and helpful, the tacos reasonably priced, as well as delicious and creative! These tacos definitely had more going on that some of the simpler ones we'd tried while visiting the state, but they were amazing! The meat was cooked perfectly, the toppings generous and the flavors mingled perfectly with the sauces they provide at no extra cost. I probably preferred the street taco slightly bc I'm a sucker for citrus and the lime juice over the top really took this to the next level.
