Hushpuppy
Raquel O.

I ordered to go so my sandwich was a little squished by time I got home but it was really good. I ordered the chicken tinga torta, hushpuppy side and hibiscus-ginger agua fresca. The torta is full of flavor, the hushpuppy was one of my favorites with that aoli sauce! The agua fresca refreshing and I would del order again. It was not busy, took less than 10 minutes for my order to be ready once I placed it. I live a little too far to come often but when I am in the area I will be stopping by again!

Been wanting to try this place and not disappointed. I had the Canadian Tuxedo. Flavors robust. Generous quantity in this day of decreasing size. Bun excellent. Things you should know: 1. Outdoor seating on picnic tables, some covered. 2. No fountain drinks. Soft drinks are bottles and expensive. Would like to see that price lower for what you get. I don't mind paying for good local food. Definitely will add to my Austin food rotation.

Wow, the taste and healthy alternatives they offer are worth coming back for! I ordered the chips and queso (came with a side of beet pico de gallo and goat cheese) as an app. I could've done without the goat cheese if I'm already eating the queso, but the beets were good! Not sure how they qualify as pico de gallo style, but I threw them in the queso and completely elevated it nonetheless. For my entrees I ordered a tempeh-cauliflower "chorizo" bowl and a Lucy taco to share with my partner. More than enough food, we took leftovers home. The "chorizo" was so yummy, I love how they were able to make cauliflower taste that good! I also tried their lemonade and seasonal aqua Fresca (hibiscus and ginger march 2025) and they were delicious as well. Staff was nice, the seating area was plenty, and they also have a water bowl for dogs which i thought was considerate. This place seems to be only outdoors. Would definitely come back!!

Great sandwiches and awesome deal (2 large sandwiches for $20!). Nice outdoor space and chill vibes. We got the Deville (chipotle chicken, crispy plantains, grilled pineapple) and the pork belly. Filling and delicious. Would like to come back and try some other options as they have bowls, tacos, and some bomb looking paninis!

WATERMELON-MINT AGUA FRESCA

Tried the Who Dat? Special based on a muffuletta. It tasted great along with the roasted Brussel sprouts for a filling lunch. The agua fresca was ok but straining it would have made it more drinkable.

Everything I've eaten from here has been really delicious. I just recently had the cauliflower plant-based chorizo bowl and it was really good. I like that the "chorizo" was over a bed of rice and wasn't too heavy. Their agua fresca that was watermelon and mint was really good as well. It's a bit pricey, but the portions are medium to generous. The people that work the window are always helpful and patient the outdoor seating is limited, but it's not terrible. There's some shade and there are fans going to beat this summer heat.

CHICKEN TINGA STREET TACO

A quirky Austin like place with excellent food. A food truck without wheels. Outside picnic tables are your onsite dining option. The ordering is a bit odd like you are ordering takeout or delivery. Once you figure it out it is fine. We ordered The Cuban 5/5, Brussel sprouts 5/5, THE CANADIAN TUXEDO 5/5, and CHICKEN TINGA STREET TACO 4.5/5.

Edward torta

This place has been on my list for forever, glad I finally got to try it! Every time I drive past, it's so cute and tempting. I got the Edward Torta - wow. It is a pretty big sandwich and it was so delicious. The peppers added a nice spice and the actual patty was so crispy. The avocado, which I normally psis on, added so much depth to the sandwich. Each bite was delicious, I did not want it to end. The bread was so soft and a delicious cushion to the filling. They seem to have 4-5 base flavors and make that in a torta version, a bowl, a taco, etc.

Tacos were alright. The lucy is good and so is the pork belly. Would not recommend the Cauliflower chorizo.

Perfect spot for late-night tacos!…read more The best part is that they have great vegetarian options, including both paneer and tofu tacos, and both are absolutely delicious. It's not always easy to find flavorful vegetarian tacos, so this place was a pleasant surprise. I loved it so much that I ended up visiting twice during my two-day trip to Austin. Some tables could use a cleaning in between guests, but it was fairly clean. You order your food at the counter and they call you when it is ready. I ordered the grilled steak taco, rotisserie chicken taco and special taco of the week (pork dumpling smash taco). We also ordered the elote and queso to share. The elote was good, but very creamy and a bit heavy. The queso was good but tbh I prefer Torchy's. The grilled steak taco was a bit underwhelming, I wanted it to have more flavor, it just tasted like beef and cheese. The chicken had good flavor and the special weekly taco was enjoyable and interesting, not like any taco I have had before. There is plenty of variety for people including those with dietary restrictions. My friends ordered two tacos each and I was full after 3 tacos so if you are not a big eater stick with two.

It was even fun to order with a menu representing Mexican Lotería cards. I tried the Grilled Fish Taco, Grilled Chicken Taco, and El Breakfast Taco. I think everything on the menu is excellent where I also got addicted to the Los Chips. I dined here so many times the staff remembered my name and almost my phone number which is used to send you a receipt and let you know your order is ready for pickup. The place has great character with indoor and outdoor seating and that this time became a World Cup viewing party. This place is also dog friendly inside too. Don't need to walk inside to order where can order from the street through a window like a food truck.

It's a small chain in Austin that started from a food truck of two women from Veracruz. Interestingly enough, the cashew based queso here is the default so people with nut allergies- watch out! I was told it was not made in house by the restaurant and I ended up not trying it. I ended up getting the El Diferente taco, while the women at the counter recommended the Furioso. I chose it because I preferred pinto beans to black beans. I added thier salsas that were creamy and it was delish with poblanos in it. The tacos sounded really simple to me from the descriptions but I ended up really enjoying the one I had for breakfast! My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

I ordered 2 steak tacos and horchata, both very delicious. The horchata is milky and sweet but not crazy sweet, and topped off with cinnamon. The steak tacos came out pretty hot, fresh from the grill. I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak. They have a little bar, too, though I did not imbibe this time. Seems like they have a decent selection of agave spirits, and even Campari behind the bar (iykyk). Give them a shot, and thank the ladies in the kitchen.
