Delicious BBQ is something that's always in style and when you find it I always try to jump at the chance to get it! Coming here was really a find as they are located down a very unsuspecting residential area then smack dab at the fork in the road where it spilts with houses all around like honestly those people have to be stoked that they can just walk across the street and get BBQ! So I arrived towards the end of the day after 7pm and they were unfortunately out of a lot of their items but you know as soon as they told me we are out of things i immediately told myself yes this is gonna be yummy so I then ordered a handful of items they had. For me it was all about that brisket and let me say that was some of the best brisket I've ever had hands down it was soo tender that it was pulling apart by me just sticking my fork in it and with that came some really delicious meat as you can taste the smoke but it wasn't overwhelming you can taste the flavor of that yummy meat with that insanely good flavor ring on the outside that consists of the smoke and the rubs they had put on it creating a solid flavor that you can't go wrong with! Of the sides they had I went with potato salad which was also very yummy and just a solid flavor but what really added zest to it for me was when I put some of their delicious bbq sauce on it to make it that much better! Then came the elote style corn which was good too but definitely not my favorite while others might enjoy it I'm very picky about my elote as I grew up in California and would get elote from the corn lady with the shopping cart so that's all I'm gonna say but don't get me wrong it was good for what it was! I'm a sucker for smoked sausage too so I totally got one of their regular links and it too was perfect the link had that nice snap to the sausage it wasn't too smoky and it was full flavor down to the last bite! But one of the most satisfying things here was their BBQ sauce as it was beyond flavorful sweet savory and had a hit of maple syrup to it to offset the balance while the sauce was more watery than I would like it to be it honestly didn't matter in this case because it was soo darn good that it was just perfect the way it was! Now the staff here was super friendly and very helpful and happy to help with anything I asked of them and went above and beyond to make sure that not only myself was taken care of but everyone in the room was taken care of definitely some of the best guest service I've seen in a restaurant set up like this in quite sometime! Overall this was some killer BBQ like I wish I lived in the area because I would come here all the time it was that darn good so it's with that I say I hope I can return here at some point in the future for that delicious BBQ goodness that they were doing right from the start!

This is the best bbq spot within driving distance of the Birmingham area and it isn't even close. There are plenty of places that I love, that have delicious things on their menu, and I know that there is always going to be a lot of debate about which bbq is best. I'm not debating. There's no debate. It's a fact. No one is smoking meat like Austin Whereabouts. Everyone else needs to go and take a class from this guy. Texas style brisket, ribs and sausages all top of the line. Pork belly burnt ends...over the top. Competes with the best in Dallas, Houston or Austin. So perfectly smoked and so tender. It really doesn't get better. Try it for yourself. Beef ribs avaliable on Saturdays. Will be back for one of those ASAP. Seating indoors and out, plenty of space for groups. Fountain drinks, sweet tea, decent mac and cheese. Order and pay at the front, grab a table and wait for your plate. Friendly people, easy parking, clean space, prices that are more than fair and better than what you might expect for what you get, and bbq that you will not forget. Go out of your way for it, it's worth it.

The service was OK. They weren't rude, but they weren't very hospitable. We didn't get that "they are super nice" feeling. Food was OK. The turkey was really good (flavorful and tender). The sides were OK. Our biggest complaint about the food was the temperature. The warm food wasn't warm enough. The cold food was a good temp. I like time concept. The vibe is really chill. We decided we'd give it another try in a few months. They've only been open for 2 months.

Somehow I found this place on Yelp a few days ago. Being brand new with only one review, it was at the bottom of the list of BBQ spots in the area. I did some more research and knew my dad and I had to come check it out. I am so glad we did. Even with the 40 minute drive, it was worth it. The smell of the smoke had us salivating right from when @firetaster and I stepped out of the car into a PACKED parking lot. We joined the lengthy line that snaked around the inside of the building all the way back to the drink station. The anticipation was high as we slowly moved to the front. We both got the Texas Trinity plate, which comes with three slices of brisket, a spare rib, a link of sausage and two sides. The brisket is out of this world for even the leaner side of it is packed with flavor. Extremely tender, it falls apart with ease. Of the three meats, the rib is probably my least favorite, since that is the only one I decided to use their bbq sauce on, but it's still delicious. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is divine. Whoever first put cheese inside sausage is a genius. My dad got baked beans and coleslaw and I got mac & cheese and street corn. All the sides were great except for the coleslaw. I had one bite of the coleslaw and personally found it to be too sour. If you've ever had the mac & cheese at Panera, this one is very similar. Very simply with a very creamy white cheese sauce. We also got the pork belly burnt ends to share, but we regret that because you should know we did not finish all this food. The burnt ends were covered with a sweet sticky glaze, which pairs really well with the smoky meat. I love the aesthetics inside. The place is nicely decorated. The only thing that detracted from the experience for us was the music. A few country songs played, but we noticed a lot of Taylor Swift songs which did not fit the vibe. Some more distinctly southern songs in the playlist would help bring everything together. I'm going to be telling all my friends and family about this place. What a wonderful addition to the barbecue scene in the Birmingham area. I'm so happy for all the business their getting and I hope they continue to gain momentum and solidify themselves as one of the go-to bbq spots in Alabama.

Texas Trinity-The sausage is hiding under the bread.

As a transplanted Texan, I had my doubts. But this is the most authentic brisket I have had this side of the Mississippi in years! I got the Texas Trinity and the brisket was marbled and moist (order marbled to get the fat), the rib was tasty, and the sausage (jalapeño and cheese) was flavorful with a little kick at the end. I liked the slaw because it wasn't super sweet and the corn was fabulous. The only thing that I didn't care for was the sauce. It was too sweet and had maybe a molasses taste? You will have to wait in line and don't come too late because when the meat of your choice is gone...it's gone.

Brisket, Cole slaw and potato salad.

I just read a very long and very detailed review. I agree with there very high recommendation. I only disagree with one thing. When I ate there the regular potato salad was perfect. It wasn't undercooked at all. I have spent a lot of time working in Texas and their brisket is first class. I plan to have lunch there after church tomorrow.

Brisket (fatty and lean), beef sausage, burnt ends, texas twinky, smoked turkey, pork ribs, baked beans.

Oh hell! The boyz coming over for some cigars and bourbon. Everyone wants burger…read more.. Cajun Cleaver to the rescue. Their 80/20 ground steak burgers with some Southern Flavor from Selma, AL added (Piggly Wiggly sells it). Fellas devoured it, asking how I made my burgers. Cajun Cleaver...just saying!

The Cajun Cleaner is a pretty cool butcher/ store. On a recent visit they had a beer and wine…read moretasting which I enjoyed very much! Pretty cool that you can buy both in here and I went home with a bottle of wine. I also purchased a dinner that you can take home and cook in the oven. It was a chicken and rice dish that I enjoyed but it didn't say that it was made with smoked chicken so the husband and the kid hated it. The dogs enjoyed their share though. I suggest that if you buy one of the premade meals that you first ask what kind of meat is in it and how it is prepared. I got some fresh chicken breasts which were very nice w no fat on them. I also brought home a peanut butter pie which none of us really cared for. We were pretty disappointed since we love peanut butter pie. I took a picture of the Doux South products that they carry and sent it to my friend who was very happy to see that they have her favorite jarred tomatoes. Overall not a bad store. I will try them again and hope for better luck next time.
